Wow we are into March and the countdown for things changing at Heart of Pitsea is on!

We are excited to have created a new charity which is working towards building and running a Men’s Shed Hub in Pitsea.

And although our project will be scaling down from the end of this month when our funding from the National Lottery Community Fund ceases, we are thrilled that our youth clubs will continue, along with our Walk & Talk group and the Pitsea Pots maintenance group.

And to celebrate the last 12 years and the beginning of our new Men’s Shed adventure, we are inviting you to a FREE community event on Saturday 23 March at The Basildon Upper Academy. The fun will run from 2pm-5pm and there will be free refreshments including afternoon tea, a hotdog stand, an ice cream van, hot and cold drinks, plus music and free indoor family entertainment with a bouncy castle, magic shows and face painting.

You can view information panels, see hundreds of images of our legacies and projects and you can chat to our resident members and staff about the Heart of Pitsea journey.

Drop in anytime - we very much hope you can join us!

Nice little business meeting last night (when we finally found somewhere open to serve us food and drink beyond 8pm 😂)

We’ve had a few donation requests and we are delighted to be donating to some great causes who have asked us for help.

We have also been approached by Wi******er RT who want to borrow our ducks so we’re planning a trip in early July to help them with their very first duck race - and following that we hope to be doing one ourselves this summer/autumn, all being well! 🦆

We also found out we’ve been nominated for an award in the Basildon Borough volunteer awards to be held next week!! How amazing is that !! Thank you 🙏

We still really do need new members. There are just a handful of us (truthfully) and we really want new guys with new ideas and enthusiasm to help keep this fantastic club going strong.

Basildon will lose their sleigh and fireworks if we have to close so chat to any guys you know aged 18-45 and encourage them to get in touch. We would love to grow Basildon Round Table and do so much more.

Next social will be in March and we’re off to Top Golf - if anyone fancies coming along drop us a DM ⛳️
