Evening,

I know it's late. I know it's last minute - but I'm looking for a band for tomorrow night for our show in Basingstoke.

Paid gig. Drumkit would probably be needed. Sadly One Dead Thief have had to pull out due to injury.

Hi.

So.. one more show to announce for 2024.

Then I suppose I'd better look at 2025.

I'll be putting out a "looking for bands" thing soon - remembering

1) I don't do many dates - the ones I do though are great. (probably)

2)New bands are always the focus - if you play the area 900 times in a month - you get enough gigs. You don't need ones from me.

3) I may do more shows in 2025. Or strange projects.

4) There isn't a 4th point - I just like even numbers.

If you do want to jump the "I'm in a band" queue - I suppose you can email [email protected] with the header "give us a gig" or something equally eloquent. EPK/Links/Cat Pictures all accepted.

Actually saying that - I might as well start the looking for bands thing now.

Crack on. Genre still doesn't matter.

No cover bands/tributes though. None. Not even yours.

Sadly Eve Indigo have had to pull from the gig on the 12th October at Proteus Creation Space due to illness.

Anyone local fancy playing some tunes - mainly looking for a band - though it's a reallllllly mixed bill as it is.

So next week.

Marking 20 years of RB Music. Marking 11 years since I last got on a stage. Both of these I never thought would happen.. or happen again.

Would be lovely to see some friendly faces - but to be fair. This is a blooming good lineup.

Also as it's 4 years today - we couldn't have a 20 year poster without a Simon Roberts tribute on the cake. RIP Dude. WE all miss you.

So, let's elaborate on the earlier announcement.

3 venues in Basingstoke - all within walking distance of each other. Music in all of them between 3-9.

We're looking after Acoustic/folk type stuff in Laarsens and Rock stuff in The Royal Exchange whilst our good friend Corrie Dick is looking after jazzy type stuff in the Tea Bar.

I've got a few messages out - but I've also got some early slots on both of our stages (and actually a slightly later one on Laarsens)

And trust me - headliner for the event is.. cool. Very cool.

Booking for TWO venues. Gig is 3-9. One venue will be acoustic stuff. T'other venue will be full band stuff... Still thinking about a dance/rock vibe. But depends on who I can blag on headline.

Both venues in Basingstoke.

We've got some gigs to book. Some of which we've got to be quite vague about.

28th September - Basingstoke. Looking for some dancey/fun type things. Bands with a hint of electronics and the like could be cool.

12th Oct. Searching for a headliner at the moment.. but playing around with ideas.

9th November. This will be our "fully unplugged 2" - NO PA - just the acoustics of the room will save you. (it works - honest)

RB20 ~ TICKETS IN BIO

Two whole decades. We started it out with an aim to make music accessible to all. We wanted to give bands and musicians an opportunity to perform and for everyone to feel welcome at our gigs. 20 years on, and we are still achieving that and that makes us pretty damn proud.

Celebrating 20 years of RB, we look back on the fond memories of Bang Bar, sweaty mosh pits, slinging you cans of red stripe and dark fruits along the Sanctuary bar and most specially, those of our beloved Bear, our Si🖤

RB20 will be a night full of celebration and nostalgia, partying with old friends and new.
We host a night at our main base Proteus Creation Space in collaboration as part on the Basingstoke Music Initiative on Saturday 14th September.

Opening RB20, we have one of our old favs Absentees to warm you all up. Time to dust the cobwebs off lads🕸️

Next up it’s time to dig out those spray on skinny jeans as we welcome back our old mates Kilkovec for one night only. We’ve missed you almost as much as the sticky Sanctuary floors

Colour Blind Monks, are our ones to watch. Bringing young talent to the line up, we can’t wait to have them take to the Proteus stage. Keep your eyes peeled for them!

The tides are turning once again as Honour the Tides aka YOURS TRULY will be (dis)gracing the stage.

We’re buzzing to bring headliners Hawxx to our town, a shapeshifting, punk infused alt-metal band who’s embody the feral sisterhood🤘🏼 A breath of fresh air with their songs penned on feminist resistance and uniting us all in love and rage🏳️‍🌈

So let’s party like it’s the 2010’s, it’s time to dig out your old vans and snapbacks.

So - first support band announced for the RB20 - 20 years of Rockbitch/RB Music - HAWXX headlining. .. is the wonderful Colour Blind Monks.

One of the best new local bands about basically. We wanted a wicked up and comer to show what they're about .. and having seen this lot a few times in the last year.. no-one better.
