Floating flowers are such a beautiful addition to a wedding! The flowers we source are British, seasonal and grown with love by our fantastic growers. These were floated in water to create a very special centrepiece in a rose garden which held the wedding ceremony of a truly lovely couple on a private estate in Surrey ✨

This year for the first time we are growing some of our own flowers in a little potager near our house.

Because we use British flowers we often hear the trials and tribulations of growing from our suppliers so I wasn’t expecting it to be plain sailing but my word, growing flowers is not for the faint of heart.

The biggest challenge has been battling the slugs, but when flowers like this Agrostemma githago ‘Milas Snow Queen’ finally start appearing, all of the hard work and disappointments are forgotten - I’m not sure there’s anything more satisfying than cutting beautiful flowers you’ve sown from seed and nurtured yourself.

We don’t intend to grow all of the flowers that we use - we have amazingly knowledgeable growers for that, but being able to use some of our own flowers is a real joy!

A little glimpse of Charlotte’s British flower filled May bouquet - for this gorgeous blue and white wedding we chose delphinium, peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and my favourite May ingredient of all… philadelphus. Its fragrance is absolutely unforgettable. This plant may be unremarkable for many months of the year, but for a few glorious weeks it is spectacularly beautiful and exquisitely perfumed.

If you’d love scented, meaningful flowers for your wedding, we’d love to meet with you and find the perfect ingredients for your big day.

We get to work on some incredible weddings and events, and C&C’s wedding day was an absolute joy to be a part of.

We curated our florals to tie in with flowers from the family grounds - picking buckets of flowers from the gardens ahead of their wedding day, and that connection felt really special.

We used silver birch trees that had been grown on the estate to welcome guests to the church and inside leading to the altar to add to the serenity and beauty of the ceremony and then filled the marquee with flowers, and candles dressing the marquee poles with star jasmine and wisteria to bring the outside in.

It’s which is now in association with so if you’re tempted to try using some beautiful British flowers do take a look at their website to find growers near you.

British flowers are central to everything that we do at Floribunda Rose and our wonderful growers provide us with some of the most beautiful flowers in the world.

Huge thanks to our growers, our team and the wonderful couples who trust us with creating floral magic for their big days.

I feel as though my feet have barely touched the ground lately. I’ve been swept up in a whirlwind of conditioning, creating and delivering flowers for weddings and events and teaching in the flower school. So before it’s all about the roses, sweet peas and delphinium, I thought I’d pause and show you some of the spring beauties we’ve been admiring along the way.

‘Madame Lemoine’ syringa lilac is a firm favourite at this time of year, and though it isn’t very long lasting, its scent makes up for its fleeting nature, and the flowers are edible too. I’ve been meaning to make some lilac sugar which sounds absolutely divine, I’ll let you know if it’s any good!

I wouldn’t recommend eating the ranunculus, despite their fruit salad sweet vibes… but their vase life and multitude of ruffled petals make them a great addition to our floral palette nevertheless.

We’ve another busy week of flowering ahead and I’m especially looking forward to teaching. This week it’s a two day bespoke class focusing on table flowers, hand tied bouquets and arches using sustainable techniques from A Guide to Floral Mechanics and all of the best of this week’s British floral offerings.

This year’s tulips, poppies and fritillaria have been such a delight and I’m beyond excited at what’s coming next. The rose buds are already showing colour here at FR and the lilac is just about ready to burst into its fragrant splendour.

It feels as though spring is finally in full swing!

Opening the doors to flower school and bidding adieu to a winter that felt altogether too long has felt like a tonic for the soul.

It’s wonderful to have a studio bursting with flowers and life again and to be able to share it all with others who love flowers as much as we do.

We’ve been busy sowing seeds and planting up seedlings too and my fingers are tightly crossed for some beautiful home grown flowers this year.

The admin side of this business is as important as the flowering, especially for weddings. The devil is in the detail as they say… but there’s nothing like burying your face in a bucket of the first sweet peas of the season, or handing a bride her bouquet on the morning of her wedding. It really does lift the spirits and fill me with joy!

And then after waiting for so long spring sprung, bringing longer days, armfuls of flowers and the start of wedding season. It is such a joy to be making boutonnières, corsages and bouquets again!

These seasonal little gatherings are made of hellebores, anemone, narcissi, ranunculus and one of my favourite spring flowers butterfly ranunculus, with touches of exochorda, h**e and gaultheria shallon (known as go-go) foliage for support.

It’s sunny (and rainy and windy & I’ve even heard rumours of snow but let’s not dwell on that) and it’s finally meteorological Spring!

The Spring flowers are coming along nicely. I can’t wait to have armfuls of fabulous tulips back in the studio soon.

Happy weekend and I hope you catch some glimpses of sun where you are.

All around us buds are bursting into bloom here in Hampshire!

Whilst my head is telling me it’s fool’s spring, my heart doesn’t care, I’m just so happy to see these all of these little prunus flowers!

If you, like me, love nothing more than being immersed in flowers come and join us for a class at our flower school.

This year’s classes begin in March when the British flower year really kicks off, and a gift voucher for our Spring bouquet making class would make a fabulous Mother’s Day gift.

Whether you’re looking to show your appreciation, or treat yourself to a fabulous afternoon of flowers we would love for you to join us at Floribunda Rose Flower School.

Spring’s coming! It won’t be long until the studio is filled with spring blooms again.

Being season-led might sound constricting because we don’t have our pick of every bloom that’s available at the flower market, but by using flowers from a multitude of British flower growers we can source the most beautiful flowers that are growing when you get married.

They reflect one special moment in time. Your big day, and to us that’s magical.

To enquire about our wedding services please get in touch, I love nothing more than talking all things flowers and fabulous weddings plans!

For those who are looking for more information about our courses, we’re just finalising this year’s dates and they’ll be up online very soon ✨

The days are finally getting longer and the light, and snowdrops I’m spotting on venue visits and long country walks are enormously welcome signs that there are more flowers coming soon.

Our days aren’t filled with flowers so often at this time of year but our heads most definitely are.

We are proposing flowers for couples from all over the world, each wedding is as unique as the couples getting married and being given creative freedom to create flowers that are just right for each big day is so exciting.

There are plans for bright vibrant flowers for an Indian wedding, soft pastel spring weddings, one with Versaille gardens as the inspiration and a Nigerian celebration bedecked with tulips, blossom and flowering trees. We’ll be filling family estate marquees with floral abundance that feels ‘just picked from the gardens’, then there are the autumn weddings with all of their bronzes, golds and sun kissed elements too. As nature led florists, we have one eye on what’s happening right now, and our thoughts and dreams in the seasons ahead.

Our Elements service is proving popular again this year and suits couples who give us their colour palette and style, and then trust us to curate personal flowers ready to collect from our studio the day before they say I do.

January and February can feel like a bit of a slog, but when there’s so much to look forward to, and so much to keep us busy the time flies by, then in March wedding season begins, and we’re off again.

The fact that I also get to share the knowledge that I have gleaned over the past ten years of running Floribunda Rose with other florists coming to our flower school fills me with huge joy, and dates for this years classes will be up online soon.

I can’t wait to meet more couples and florists and share the floral joy!

It’s has all been a bit of a whirlwind here at Floribunda Rose lately and today I’m taking things very slowly.

As my thoughts turn to all things Christmas presents I just wanted to give you the heads up that if you’d like a copy of our print - British Cut Flowers arranged by colour, or A Guide to Floral Mechanics in time for Christmas we need your orders by 18th December for Royal Mail to get them to you in the UK. (Full details over at floribundarose.com)

Thank you to everyone who has already ordered their copies, we’ve been keeping our little post office busy!

We also have a lovely (free) Christmas playlist over on Spotify called Floribunda Rose Christmas if you’d like a festive soundtrack to get you in the mood for all things Christmas, it’s what we’ve been playing in the studio for wreath workshops whilst nibbling mince pies & sipping mulled ✨

Last weekend was our last wedding of the year, it truly amazes me how many beautiful British blooms can be found even in the depths of winter. One of my all time favourites are hellebores and I hope you’ll agree they’re just perfect for for hair combs to add a touch of elegance to bridesmaid’s hair for winter weddings ✨

Winter ✨

Next weekend we have our final wedding of the year, an all white palette for R&R which I can’t wait to get flowering, and then we’ll be hosting our Christmas wreath workshops at the studio!

I’m even more excited for wreaths this year because I was out of action last year after having an op, and this year instead of being five floors up in central London I’ll be hanging my wreath on the front door of our little coach house near Farnham 🤍

We’re making good progress on the structure for our installation at for Winter Flowers Week (it’s a whopper) and I’m super excited to bring it all to life. Can’t wait to see what and create!!

There are a few tickets still available for our wreath workshops at Floribunda Rose (Hampshire) on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd December and for Winter Flowers Week at The Garden Museum from 7th to the 11th December too. Hope to see you there X

I feel as though this year has flown by in a flash, and to be honest I can hardly believe it’s November already.

We have a super exciting December lined up, with lots of wonderful things planned.

There will be beautiful winter wedding flowers, an installation for the first Winter Flowers Week at the and this year we are holding two fabulous wreath making workshops at the Floribunda Rose studio too.

The first will be on the evening of Saturday 2nd December from 7-9.30pm and the second, on the afternoon of Sunday 3rd December is from 2-4.30pm and we’d love for you to join us! ✨

Our British Cut Flowers arranged by colour prints are being delivered to us this week (I’m so excited to get them in, wrap them up and ship them out to everyone who’s preordered already!!). They make a wonderful Christmas present for anyone who loves flowers or colour, and our book A Guide to Floral Mechanics is fab for anyone looking to create flowers sustainably.

So if your thoughts are turning to Christmas, we’ve got you covered!

Full details of our classes, the print, and our book are available over at floribundarose.com

I have news! It’s ready 🙌

We have designed a poster that’s a calendar, and makes working with British flowers easier!

We hope that it’ll become an invaluable resource for florists, flower growers and those growing flowers for themselves.

Pre orders are available now over on our website floribundarose.com & AGTFM.com

Never content to sit still for very long, we have been working behind the scenes at Floribunda Rose for over a year to create a wall poster of British cut flowers that shows what’s likely to be in flower and available throughout the year. It’s arranged by colour so that you can know, at a glance which British flowers can be bought from growers and wholesalers and when (though the weather does sometimes make things a little less predictable).

It has been revolutionary to simply look at a colour and a month of the year, and see which flowers we can expect to be able to use for weddings, events and our flower school projects.

We’ll be sending orders out from the 10th November (in plenty of time for Christmas).

We hope you’ll love it as much as we do!!
