Dear All,

What a year it has been, as most of you will know our Christmas Wreath Workshops have had to be cancelled, this is primary so that we can keep safe in these uncertain times and are able to meet up with all of our loved ones over the Christmas holidays.

Both of us would like you all to be inspired to create your own wreaths, to this end we would encourage you to go out and forage for all the greenery you may need and be as creative as you can. Don’t forget to add things such as herbs, flower heads, grasses, twigs with lichen on, the list is endless. You can add flowers or just make a green wreath the choice is yours, but we would love to see what you have created.

One of the charts is the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity’s Emergency Appeal. As the Royal Marsden’s needs are changing daily, they have created a “Fighting Fund” to support staff and patients.

Jennifer's Hedgerow Walk

Here is a an example of what I did with just a few flowers that I picked on my walk today. I used an old Oasis ring I had dried out and stored, once completed I can either use this as a table decoration or hang on my door.

From my walk I gathered :-

Ground Elder in Flower
Bramble Flowers
Field Daisy
Various Grasses
Ivy
Fern
Spruce
Ladies Mantel and Nepeta - from my garden

If you want to give this a go don’t forget to soak your oasis ring, then check dampness every 3 to 4 days. Remember to think about grouping and the size of the flowers/greenery you are using. Have fun and go wild, why not do a totally green one or a herb one.

A HUGE THANKYOU to everyone who attended and donated, we raised £993 for Sebastian's House Trust who support seriously ill children and their families here in a purpose built house called 'Bluebells' here in Basingstoke
