Rabbit and the Rose is owned by floral stylist Stephanie Dunn, based in North Hampshire. Specialising in bespoke wedding and event flowers, she is also available to take occasional orders, corporate work, funeral, special commissions and workshops. With a background in textile design and styling, Steph is always looking out for new trends and techniques whilst celebrating the natural beauty flower

s and foliage offer. Evoking the senses with a creative approach to composition, textures, colours and the use of scent. Whilst most flowers come fresh from the dutch market, Steph uses English and locally grown where possible, focussing on seasonality and never compromising on quality. It is important for Steph to reflect the customers personality and desires through their flowers, whether it is simply for a gift bouquet, funeral displays or for a wedding, every occasion is as important as each other. 🌟Beauitiful atmosphere. This year I am delighted to be hosting from the amazing .co.uk brand new location on Scrapps Hill Farm, (which she is launching this Saturday 2nd Nov!!) plenty of parking, local and easy to get to in North Hampshire, Laura has taken great care in making a gorgeous comfortable workshop space. Gentle background music, warm lighting, relaxed ambiance, a true escapism.
🌟Complimentary refreshments. Essential workshop fuel I’ll have Mulled wine, tea & coffee, and festive treats on offer throughout the class.
🌟 Expert tuition. I will guide you through every step to ensure you leave with the most fabulous wreath you will be proud of. With many years of experience I have lots of tips and tricks to give you the confidence to get stuck in!
🌟We do it properly. Sustainable and eco friendly techniques, I use a traditional wire frame with moss, absolutely no plastic in sight - certainly no floral foam! My process is robust and allows for repurposing after. 🌟Longevity. Autumn *drama* for the most gorgeous of brides. Lovely Fen, your bouquet was truly a privilege to make. Thank you for allowing me to be as creative as I like. Your whole wedding was a work of art from start to finish.

Note to all future autumn weddings - you are not restricted to orange and brown. Sure if you love the classic palette fill your boots, but remember autumn is rich with so many colours, textures and moods. Xx

captures the theatre of this wedding just perfectly 👌🏼 ✨ 🥀

… Surprise! 🤍

So I’ve been a little busy growing something special the past few months…

Thrilled to be adding to the Rabbit and the Rose tribe (and a little terrified about managing two pickles!) George is so excited to be a big brother. We’re so grateful and blessed to be adding to our family xx
This rainbow baby needs to wait for one more wedding which I’m working on this weekend. A few little bits and bobs to do over the next week or so, then it’s full on nesting mode for me!

I have another gorgeous July wedding with assistance from my lovely then a bit of a ‘break’ till October 😅

Huge thanks to for taking the time to capture these, she’s magic!
for the lending of her incredible boho wedding gown!!
To for sorting my face and hair out! And for letting me jump in on the end of a super cool bridal shoot we did, just so I can have a bit of my own Beyoncé moment!! 😂
And to for hosting us! Flashy rainbow nails by
Earrings from

Totally over the top, definitely ‘extra’, but really fun to have the chance to get these memories whilst being amongst my florals, how can a florist refuse!?

Where it all began…

I’ve decided late in the day to have a go at after feeling a bit flat and uninspired with social media recently, this is the perfect push to get my brain working again. So here we go…

Day 1: ‘Brand origin’
Floristry has always been part of my life since the age of 13! (That’s over 15 years btw) But it was in the January of 2017 that things really began to piece together.
The most wonderful experience with got me putting my ‘what ifs’ and ‘maybe one day’ into action, and onto paper. A mood board, then a kick up the bum, one thing led to another and somehow by the July same year I had a shop, a brand and the start of a very beautiful floral story!

A little about the name ‘Rabbit and the Rose’ simply put I had a house rabbit called Joey! I’d love to adopt another rabbit some day, but my family is pretty busy as it is at the moment! (Don’t worry mum!😅)
But also the inspiration came from my love for whimsical narratives. The naive beauty of illustrative story books about nature, in particular Beatrice Potter and Brambley’s hedge. The way they celebrate the seasons and a simpler way of life.

Weddings have become the biggest love and motivation in my business and I think a big part of this is the ability and absolute privilege I have to be part of a couples story. Translating their vision and narrative into flowers, setting a mood and ambiance for the most beautiful, emotive event. It’s so special and I’m always beyond grateful to be given that trust and creativity to provide that for them.

Mothering Sunday 2023 - Dancing Queen 💃🏻

A little bit of escapism in the form of flowers!
Picture this; by day, lazing by the pool on a peaceful Greek Island, surrounded by the scent of rosemary and citrus trees, and by night you let your hair down with live music and cocktails. So the flowers might not match this exactly, but they’re certainly a token of sunnier times, a joyful energising mix of hot colours and blooms.

Inspired by our beloved late Queen, this years Mothering Sunday designs are dedicated to the special Queens in our lives. The matriarchal figure whoever that may be to you. Mums and in-laws, nans, mum friends, friends like mums, aunties, best buds and any other queens in your life!

Let’s talk about Valentines…
After a couple days of decompressing, I want to express my massive gratitude for all the lovely orders I received this valentines.
I LOVE making them for you all. Thank you💕
But now I need to get real.
Valentines is and always was a bit of a slog.
There’s such a lot of work involved; from formulating the designs, buying stock for mock ups, photographing designs, editing images, time promoting and posting, paying for advertising, preordering stock before even any customer orders have come in, the stress and anticipation of will they won’t the orders come in. Normally they come in the end and I actually thrive off the last minute rush and adrenaline.
This year however, it really felt like I was falling on deaf ears?
I get it, money is tight for everyone right now, (me included!!) and my product is luxurious, high end, artisan, special. Coupled with the fact stock prices have gone up and budgets are pinched more than they used to be. And honestly I don’t really celebrate valentines myself - I’m more than happy with a Toblerone and a comical card! 😂 so I can’t expect others to go above and beyond either…

I cant help but feel defeated, and doubt my entire existence - okay that’s a bit dramatic 😂😅

I happened to pop in to a couple supermarkets this week, it was painful to see the amount of last minute buys of plastic wrapped bunches of sad looking penny roses and whatever else was left, when there’s small independent businesses all over, desperate to break even and every sale counts. It was heartbreaking, I just felt like shouting ‘no! Don’t do it! Buy from me instead!’ 🤣 I bit my lip and perhaps I need to stop doing that…
I apologise for the moan and groan but quite honestly, I can’t do this again. I hear you loud and clear, valentines is not a celebration my business should partake in again.
And now I brush myself off and get back up from the thorn ridden floor. Mother’s Day. What should I do? Is this worth doing? Will people want flowers this year? What’s your budget? I’d love to know what you think…
