🧮 So the good news is that our next Music Bingo is on Mon 24 February; the themed game this month is ‘Living by Numbers’ eg song titles and artists that feature a number of some kind.

🙃The not so good news is that this event is now fully booked! Well done for those of you who are already booked in. For those who have missed out, please feel free to book online for the next one on Mon 31 March 2025. It’ll have a Mother’s Day theme, so don’t forget to bring your mummy! The food at The Spindle is great, so why not push the boat out and treat her to a slap-up meal too?

** Can I politely request that when booking a table, that you ensure you are booking for the correct number of players and not just giving an ‘optimistic’ number. The venue is having to disappoint a lot of customers, and it is very frustrating when for instance only six people turn up for a table booking of twelve. Likewise, if you no longer require a table, please let the venue know asap so they can release it. Thank you. 🙏

🎵 A fabulous night of Music Bingo kicked off the New Year perfectly on Monday. The Spindle, as usual, was jam-packed, full of friendly, fun-loving people of all ages. I love how inclusive these nights are!

💰 Lots of Prosecco and big cash prizes were won - congratulations to Charlotte who won the big jackpot of £250. Even my son Luke picked up a £100 win for his two line claim. Never seen a card marked quite like his, what an oddball! 😂

🗓️ Our next music bingo will be on Monday 24th February. You’ll need to book online to secure a table, but be quick… tables go fast!

🔊 Our first Music Bingo of the new year at The Spindle will be on Monday 27 January at 8pm. If you fancy coming along, I suggest you book in as soon as you can, either by telephone or online, these nights get very busy!

The theme for the first game is gonna be ‘Inappropriate Funeral Songs’ - a tongue in cheek look at songs that would raise a few eyebrows if played at someone’s funeral. I haven’t finalised my playlist yet so if you have any ‘fun’ suggestions I’d love to hear them. If it makes me chuckle, it’s in!

🎤 We had a great night hosting our last ‘Shot in the Dark’ quiz yesterday evening, with five boisterous teams competing for the coveted plastic trophy! Well done team Number One for securing the winners’ title.

🔊 I’ve had some wonderful feedback about this new style of pub quizzing so although I’ll not be hosting regularly here anymore, it’s certainly something new to put in my back pocket. Thanks to everyone who came along to support me over the last few months, it’s been a blast!

🎄 🔔 🎵 💰 My last Music Bingo of the year at The Spindle & Thread was an absolute belter! The crowd were as brilliant as ever and they sang their little hearts out. As well as lots of complementary shots given out by Fran and her team, over £1k of cash was given out in prize money too!

🌲 🎅 My last two gigs before Crimbo. Please come and support us if you can - I put so much time and energy into these events and honestly, you’d put a big silly smile on my face if you rocked up to one (or both!) of them.

🎄🎵 I hosted a cheeky little festive Music Bingo at my dad’s retirement village in Wycombe this afternoon. Along with lots of Christmas songs, I also threw in few bangers from the 50s (at my 89 year old dad’s request), and they loved it! Always such a fun-loving crowd; their social life is better than mine! A tribute band was arriving just before I left. 😂

🎅 🎄 Christmas is always a busy time of year for us entertainers, but it is so rewarding knowing how much we play a part in putting smiles onto people’s faces. Last night I hosted a festive music bingo in Marlow. The team there, managed by Charley & Jamie, are just amazing. It was my first time hosting there but I really enjoyed myself, they all made me feel very welcome.

🏆 Here I am with one of our big jackpot winners, Natalie. Everyone had a great time, but it was a comment that someone made at the end that resonated with me the most. There were two couples sat near me who randomly joined in after having a meal. One of the chaps came up to me at the end to tell me how they had come into the pub for a spontaneous meal after they’d all had a really ‘rubbish’ day. He said that the music bingo had really raised their spirits. And that to me my friends is what life is all about: shining your light, however small, and brightening someone’s day!

✅ 🎅 First of two Xmas themed Music Bingos at The Spindle completed, and wow, what a night yesterday was! Everyone was in festive spirits, and sang and chair-danced all night long. I particularly loved seeing everyone posting their bingo cards in Santa’s letterbox during the break for the chance to win some shots too, great idea Fran!

👏 🐶 Well done to our big £500 jackpot winner Tracy - she was quite overwhelmed bless her. Tracy has plans to adopt a puppy in the new year so this unexpected windfall will be a god-send!

🎵 🍷 😆 Phew, what a jam-packed quizzy weekend that was! One full of festive-themed music, wacky quizzes, song, laughter & banter! My first gig on Friday was a bingo/quiz combo at Beaconsfield Town FC. The quiz was very well fought but it was Santa 6 (+ cute baby), who finished top of the league table at the end of the evening! Thank you to friends, new and old, who rocked up and helped make it the success it was.

👏 And then yesterday Glenn and myself hosted one of my fun ‘Shot in the Dark’ quizzes at the Stag & Hounds in Farnham. It was a close run thing but it was table 3 that got to lift the trophy on Sunday night. I’ll be hosting two more quizzes there before Christmas, Sunday 15th and then Sunday 22nd December. We’ve even managed to squeeze in a cheeky pre-Xmas music bingo there on the evening of Monday 23rd December too! More the merrier - why not come along and get yourself in the Christmas spirit!

🔊 I had some great feedback about my new ‘Shot in the Dark’ quizzes on Sunday at The Stag & Hounds. One lovely lady said she really hadn’t wanted to come because she ‘hates quizzes’, but she ended up having a brilliant time. She particularly loved the visual presentation of the quiz and remarked on how entertaining the quiz was. And another player was gobsmacked when I told him how I create all my quizzes from scratch, he had presumed they had been produced professionally elsewhere. But no, I actually spend a lot of time and energy in creating my quizzes, far longer than I should if I’m honest, but receiving feedback like this of course makes it all worthwhile.

Our big kids Luke & Zoe, have stepped in to host the quiz tomorrow night whilst I’m off partying. It’ll be a night not to be missed, a quiz like no other, with trivia, beer & banter! Please try and come along to support them if you can. 🙏
