Birthday girl and all her friends love Sushi 🍣 🥳 Sushi making party for 6 adorable girls . Birthday girl is super sweet and cute 🥰 . Together we made cucumber rolls, salmon rolls , temaki which is ice cream cone shaped sushi and Hello Kitty 🐱 Sushi . We had so much fun 🤩 together ! 🍣🐱🎈🎊🎉🍣 今日のお寿司のお教室は可愛い女の子のお誕生日パーティー。彼女と5人のお友達はお寿司がだーいすき🍣🥰皆んなでかっぱ巻き、サーモン巻き、手巻き寿司とハローキティ寿司を楽しく作りました。楽しいひと時に感謝🙇🏻‍♀️💫✨

Happy New Year ㊗️On this day until 3rd of January , traditionally we celebrate New Year in Japan . We eat Osechi which is New Year Celebration Cuisine . Each dishes symbolise Happiness , Long Life , Prosperity and Good Luck . We also drink O- toso , sake , Japanese rice wine which has been steeped with herbs for few hours . We believe this ritual will ward off sickness and peace and harmony within household for whole year .
Kagami mochi is a New Year Decoration consists of one small and one large mochi rice cakes . We also add daidai , citrus fruit and dried persimmons. The two rice cakes symbolise the past year and the New Year also the Moon ( yin ) and Sun ( yang ) , Happiness and Good Fortune.
Wagyu , Sukiyaki or Shabu Shabu is also served .
Nama gashi is a Japanese sweets made from natural ingredients such as rice cakes , fruits , jellies or sweetened bean paste . Edible piece of art , delicate sweetness , beautiful design and reflection seasonal and natural shapes . For New Year , skilled craftsmen will make 🐰Rabbit ( 2023 ) , 🌁Mt Fuji etc . Hagoita is a decorative wooden paddles which is good luck charm for New Year . We play a game called Hane tsuki , hitting feather shuttlecocks with Hagoita . Happy New Year ㊗️Japanese Food Lovers , Friends and Followers 👩🏻‍🍳I very much hope you all had a lovely New Year’s Day . On this day until 3rd of January , we Japanese celebrate by eating celebration cuisine called Osechi . Each dishes symbolise good luck , long life and happiness . Toshikoshi soba : Year - End Buckwheat soba noodles . It is a tradition to eat this noodle dish annually on New Year’s Eve in Japan . I made toshikoshi soba for my dinner tonight . Buckwheat soba are long and it is firm to bite and easy to break while eating hence “ breaking off the old year “ Eating soba noodles will also suppose to bring long life and prosperity. Buckwheat soba plants can survive severe weather and so soba represents strength and resilience. Make sure not to eat this soba noodle dish right at the midnight as this is considered bad luck 👩🏻‍🍳😉 🥢👩🏻‍🍳🍲今夜は年越し蕎麦プラス天麩羅。

Dear Followers, Friends and anyone who loves Japan and Japanese Food . I want to reach out to explain typical New Year’s Eve in Japan which I really miss . Jyoya no Kane is the annual ritual of ringing the Bells 108 times at majority of Temples across Japan . The bell will ring 107 times and when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s, passing the old year to the New Year, last bell , 108th rings . According to Buddhism, all human beings experience 108 times of worldly desires throughout the course of one’s life. Listening to the solemn sound of bell 🛎, it is believed that one will be cleansed of one’s problems and worries of last year .I found out that United Kingdom used to ring church bells in the distant past 🇬🇧 🔔 ⭐️🇯🇵🛎🙏🏻🌍🌏🙏🏻💫🙏🏻 #👩🏻‍🍳 今日は大晦日ですね。イギリスの方々に除夜の鐘の説明です。

Nishiki Ichiba , my favourite market in Kyoto . I wish I was in Japan so I can buy all the ingredients I need to make Osechi , Traditional Japanese cuisine made to celebrate the coming New Year which is only one and an half days left . Japanese mums will be busy making Osechi dishes which takes at least 3 days . I am making Kohaku Namasu today , which is julienned carrots and mooli daikon radish marinated with vinegar sauce. Kohaku means red and white , colours typically associated with celebration 🎉 in Japan. This dish symbolise one’s wish for Happiness . In Japan we can buy carrots which are almost red but unfortunately I have to use the orange carrots. ⛩🍱⛩ #👩🏻‍🍳 今日はおせち作りに大忙しでーす。

I have been working so hard for the past month and I decided to take 3 days off . Lunch today was Ocha zuke , “ Ocha “ means green tea 🍵 in Japanese 😉in a bowl add steamed rice and pour some hot green tea and add toasted sesame seeds , pickled seaweeds, pickled plum and mitsuba, Japanese parsley. Super yummy 😋 but you will get hungry 🔜 👩🏻‍🍳🥢🌿🍚🍵 今日のランチはお茶漬け。

Have you eaten “Konjac “? it is a root vegetables , family of yam with no calories, lower cholesterol, for ladies 😉ideal for diet , source of fiber , improve health of your skin and much more ! I love Yuzu , Japanese love Yuzu. It is a citrus 🍊 fruit unsuitable for eating because of the sourness . Instead we use the soured fragrant , delicate aroma of peel and juice to make sauces , dressing , wine , add into miso and yuzu pepper which is made from yuzu and spicy chilli . There is a custom in Japan to take “ Yuzu Yu “ adding Yuzu into bath on Winter Solstice which will be 21st of December this year .
I made chicken teriyaki and added some yuzu pepper and miso and had a small glass of yuzu wine 🍷. Super yummy 👩🏻‍🍳😋 ❤️🍊☺️🍊❤️ 今夜の一品、チキン照り焼きに柚子胡椒とお味噌を試しに足したら😋💯

Private Sushi 🍣 Making class with beautiful couple today. They are from Poland and Bulgaria and live in England . They both love 💕 sushi and it was a birthday gift 💝 from sweet girl to her partner .I had lovely time with them , not only that ... they were so~ so~ polite and kind . Dinner with my son tonight 👩🏻‍🍳🧑🏻‍🦱☺️It’s freezing 🥶 in England . I made one of my son’s favourite winter dish , hot pot 🍢“ Oden “ which is daikon radish, eggs 🥚, potatoes 🥔, tofu beancurd and several types of fish cakes cooked with dashi stock for 5 hours. I also made two types of chirashi zushi , scattered sushi 🍣, one with sushi rice , vegetables, ikura and cooked tiger prawns 🦐 and the other one with yellowtail 🐟☺️. They were super yummy and my son loved it . ☺️❤️💯 🥶❄️🙁🫕🍣☺️イギリスは寒い❄️真冬日、水曜日から氷点下になりそうです！今夜は息子のために彼の大好きな🍢おでんと🍣ちらし寿司。
