January pub quiz last night was a banger. Plenty of laughter, drinks and fun. The entry monies raised £36 which will be split between the various village charities (Blake House Trust, BT Lives and Devon Air Ambulance). As many of you know, we started a second business of a cafe. While this has been a lovely and popular venture; it’s been one hit with staffing issues and time (on our part). As such we have decided to sell on the lease. It pains us to do so, but we feel our personal time and time with the pub should take priority and that means sacrificing the time given to the cafe. A day off; and we lucked out with the weather. Took M and M down to @lanhydrocknt for a fun day out. They are restoring their gallery; and it was just incredible and such a rare opportunity to see that sort of design, artwork and s up close (as they have a scaffolding up which allows you to get right up and close)….was such a rare and amazing thing to see. Plus the house and the amount you can walk around and see is well worth it. We will defo be back; perhaps with bikes to trial the cycle trails as well, or even with 🐕 and enjoy some@of the beautiful grounds. Film club returns this autumn and winter!With the change in the weather, the darker evenings, the need to have something to do, why not come along and watch movies on the big screen with a decent pint (or two)…This year we are looking to show films on Monday evenings 7pm kick off, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings anything from 5.30pm-7.30pm kick off and Sunday afternoons from 4pm.
