Our newest Living History exhibit at St David's is a reconstruction with sounds smells and real smoke in a bombed out office.

The lighting was the brain child of Pte Michael MCarthy has has become over the past few months a major force in the development of H 21 projects, with his incredible knowledge skill and historical incite.

Thank you Michael !

My thanks also to Maggie and Tony Boot who have worked so incredibly hard and have given me the support that has kept me going over the past few months and who have worked tirelessly in setting things up ( despite my barking out orders constantly )

Today saw a fantastic event at our new host venue in Eastham, where we were proud once again to represent the Eastham Bromborough and Hooton ( which was at the time of WW II part of the parish of Eastham ) CH 21 Home Guard.
We are establishing, with the help of the local community and St David's a set of new relationships with local schools and youth organizations and today we welcomed Heygarth School Year 6 and 50 of their students, who spent the entire morning working with us and experiencing what it might have been like to live in Eastham during WW II as part of their curriculum.
The feedback has been excellent as they experienced our many exhibits.
I can not thank our members, volunteers and the members of St David's enough for making the day such a success.
We had upwards of 50 youngsters who had a great time talking to the various displays.
I also want to thank the Wirral Amateur Radio Group for joining us and being part of our event today and who will be with us again tomorrow ( Thanks Guys ) The Morse Code instruction and your hand outs were a great success. and as usual for the support of our Hooton Park Supporters (The Insomniacs) Martin Williams and John Sinclair along with Kevin Walford who between them always add a touch of humour to what we do !
We can not post pictures of our visitors of course, but here are some pics of the event set up before their arrival.
More pics to follow:

Hi all,

A little while ago I put out a call for helpers to assist with our next CH21 "static" event at St David's in Eastham over 2 x mornings 21st & 22nd Oct.

I am hoping to have a meeting of all those who are listed so far as helping including Bill Peers, < if you are recovered enough Bill > Bill Turnbull, Tony Piggott & Mike McCarthy.

I am suggesting 10 am Wednesday 25th Srptember.

This meeting is to flesh out the proposed plans.

If there is anyone else who could spare a couple of hours on either of the 2 dates, please let know and could those who have agreed to help also confirm availability for the Wed planning meeting...That would be a great help thanks

I want to give a heads up to all my contacts.

I have been experiencing some very strange and sinister activity on my various social media accounts and other platforms eg Facebook and Ebay over the past few months, coinciding with a much greater reliance on my phone communications with far less on my home lap top.

Many of you will be aware of the attempts to assassinate my character several months back, whilst at our previous group location, at which time. false on line documentation / profiles / emails were created in my name, which caused a great deal of trouble for many people.

Despite having upgraded my security, I am sorry to say the problem has continued.

It now appears that these ongoing issues relate directly to My phone comms and the cloning of my sim card. ( which would explain my ongoing complaints about the phone not performing which many of you must be sick of hearing )

At what stage and how this cloning took place I do not know, but I understand it potentially may have taken place at some point during the time I was at our previous location

Most of my log ins are by one step verification codes and these have not been affected, but others have and are only just becoming apparent

I have had extensive conversations with my service providers and they have provided me with a new sim card with the same mobile number, whilst at the same time deactivating the old sim, so for all my contacts there will be no change other than any communications from me will now be from me.

The matter has been reported to the authorities

I AM FURIOUS ABOUT THIS

Kelly and Rachael
Ted and Mable Markowicz plus mum and dad
Tony Piggott
Ryder Verdu
Mike McCarthy
Graham Jones
Bill Peers plus vehicle
Dave Plumb plus bike
Damien Thomas plus bike

Plus all those too numerous to mention who came to show their support within the community

A very special thanks for the gift and the card Kelly and Rachael ..such a lovely thought

Another special thanks to Mike's wife Jean for working from the early hours to make so many cakes.

Thanks to the Elders and congregation of St David's URC for your ongoing trust, ongoing support and valued friendship. You have done so much for us

Thanks to Judith St David's Church leader for putting up with my scary sence of humour !

Finally, to all members of CH 21.... it has been a privilege and an honour to be part of such a fantastic committed and loyal group. I know that what we have achieved will live on in the name of CH 21 in the future.

I know that I have badgered, pushed, pinged you all hours of the nite and bombarded you with information overload over the years and you have patiently put up with it..... its just my way. Maybe its my OCD. Or maybe its because I was passionate about a dream. Any thanks all..

I will be keeping a close watch on the group's activities, and when and if I can will always give my full support.

I salute you all 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡

A RE-POST .....

A few weeks ago I put out a notice re an afternoon event here in Eastham, and a few of you indicated that you would like to support this.

14:00 - 16:00 at St David's URC. Saturday 22nd June

Lilli is joining us and I will be subsidising the event costs as as a thank you for their help.

Could I have a revised list of those coming please ?

The church have given us free use of the massive church hall and ancillary rooms. The hall has a stage and its been proposed that we hold a 40's dance at some time in the future. The church is fighting hard on our behalf in the community and has become a major ally of the group.

Mike McCarthy will be showing history items on the big screen.

Home Guards, ARP, vehicles, and displays welcome plus anyone wanting to sell.

It's not a massive event but an important one.

Thanks all.

At the time. The following signified their hope to attend.

This will be the last event I will have organised for CH 21 so it will be nice to see as many of the group as possible to say thank you.

Mike McCarthy ( history talk main Hall )

Lilli Moore ( church for singing )

Dave Plumb

Darren Thompson ( subject to his circumstances )

Bill Turnbull ( and his music plus Bric a Brac stall )

Tony Piggott

Bill Peers

Rachael and Kelly.

As I have said. I am funding this event as a thank you.

Anybody wanting to do a display or a stall for selling is welcome.

I am really struggling with my mobility at the moment but will be meeting with the church on Thursday to discuss details so if those of you above can still make it can you please let me know before then.

Anybody else ease also let me know.

Thanks all
