Brrr...it's definitely a tad chilly today!
So to bring a little tropical warmth to this cold day, here's a pineapple plant made from paper!

Always love making something a little different and unusual. Right, back to making wedding flowers....

Same bouquet, different year.

This is one of my example wedding bouquets that's in my shop. The photos are of the same bouquet taken 4 years apart. Just shows how long your flowers will keep! This one's had a little battering going to and from the odd wedding fair, and generally being moved around the shop. So if you'd like some long lasting flowers then paper flowers are an excellent choice!

As 2024 comes to a close I'm thinking about some of the flowers I've made this year. From weddings, special gifts, giant flowers for events and press days there's definitely been a wide range of paper blooms created.

Looking forward to the new year and all the creations I'll be making; and starting off the year with a wedding which I can't wait to start.

It's always great to make personalised floral arrangements..I was asked to incorporate tennis balls in a Christmas table centrepiece!

Can't wait for the new year and all the bespoke commissions....I'll be starting the new year with wedding flowers as soon as I've tidied my desk!

Framed magnolia branch

Branches of paper blooms work so well with frames. So if you want to commission some paper flowers and want them on the wall rather than in a vase this is perfect!

Magnolia branch is ready for framing

There's something very special about creating flowers from just paper, scissors, glue and wires along with some pastels to add a touch of colour. The magnolia flowers are created from white/white double-sided (doublette) paper with wires covered in brown German florist crepe forming the branch.

🍍Pineapple 🍍

Always love it when a customer asks for something a little different, and I've definitely had a few slightly unusual requests recently. I'm always up for a new challenge - whether it's giant paper flowers and giant cacti (more on these next year), incorporating personal elements into an arrangement (including tennis balls), a new flower or even a new plant.
So when I was asked to make a pineapple plant I couldn't say no! It's still work in progress but it's getting there; plus I hadn't realised what a pineapple plant looked like before now, so you learn something new every day.

Start of the magnolia branch.

When I make a new flower I tend to spend time looking at images of the flowers, working out the components, the petal shapes but there's rarely any good images of the bottom of the flowers. Luckily with the magnolia there's plenty of images showing branches! Hurrah!

Crepe paper poinsettia made with metallic gold and dark green crepe paper. Not your traditional colours but definitely still festive; plus it won't die and you'll be able to display it every year!

Can't believe it's already 1st December, and since we've hit that festive time of year I'll be open every day including Sundays.

Crepe paper gerbera 🌸

You probably can't tell from this photo but this beauty is 35cm wide and was part of the giant paper flowers I delivered on Monday to my client. It joined 11 other giant gerberas and a dozen giant carnations, 8 even bigger poppies, the giant hollyhocks and 3 giant cacti!
