This season, we're taking you on a cinematic journey through what we believe are the two most groundbreaking years in film history. Join us as we delve into a curated selection of unforgettable movies from 1988 and 1989, a period bursting with innovation, storytelling mastery, and timeless classics. From Hollywood blockbusters to hidden gems, our lineup showcases a diverse array of genres and styles, all of which left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.

Join us on Sunday 24th October, 6pm GMT where we will be enjoying the next selection of our new season…Beaches (1988)!

When the New York child performer CC Bloom and San Francisco rich kid Hillary meet in a holiday resort in Atlantic City, it marks the start of a lifetime friendship between them. The two keep in touch through letters for a number of years until Hillary, now a successful lawyer moves to New York to stay with struggling singer CC. The movie shows the various stages of their friendship and their romances including their love for the same man…

To celebrate an entire year of the Accidental Comedy Club we are closing of the year with a special XMAS show, with some off the best acts from this year. Each act will bring another one a pressie and there might be a few for the audience to.

Accidental presents a musical journey to the warmth and beauty of South America featuring artists from Chile, Brazil and Belfast.

A vibrant music show that brings Brazilian, Chilean and local music together on Accidental’s stage.
In a night that features 4 musicians that will take you across the atlantic and back!

On this journey we have Vicondre (Chile) who will move through the Latin styles. Utropiks (Brazil) who combines Brazilian sensibilities with African explorations and lastly; Bossa Nova Blue who recall the 'quiet music' of Rio that seduced the world.

Vicondre (Victor Henriquez) is a Chilean musician living in Northern Ireland. He performs on charango, Spanish guitar and vocals. Vicondre’s songs blend Mediterranean and Latin American influences, often collaborating with diverse musicians and dancers. His longest-standing collaboration is with Los Dramaticos, Northern Ireland’s only flamenco-Latin band.

Utropiks is Israh Castro, a Brazilian songwriter and producer based in Belfast. With a miscellaneous compositions that has being taken inspirations from a variety of Brazilian traditional rhythms, Spiritual Jazz, Jamaican Dub music and Afrikans polyrhythm grooves, Utropiks dances between Brazilian Afrosambas, progressive music, Funk and modern electronic vibes.

Bossa Nova Blue: Meabh Cormacain (vocal and violin) lived in Brazil and returned home with a passion for bossa nova, Rio’s global musical phenomenon in the 1960s. Singing in English and Portuguese she is joined by guitarist Paul Webster (Katalizt, Dave Robb’s Gunderman). Together they are Bossa Nova Blue.

A TALE TOLD BY AN IDIOT

Due to overwhelming demand following a hugely successful debut, Adam Laughlin will reprise A Tale Told by An Idiot at the fantastic Accidental Theater. If you missed the last performance, don’t miss this chance to witness this captivating show.

Experience Shakespeare's Macbeth in a completely new light. Performed solo, with a Derry accent and infused with comedy, the award-winning comedian Adam Laughlin () takes on his most ambitious project yet, proving that the Bard's bloodiest tragedy is also incredibly funny. Prepare for drama, violence, gore, and humor, along with explicit language, all packed into a two-hour performance (including an intermission).

To support writers in our community, we have created the Writers Corner, an affordable dedicated space for writers to come together and write.
Taking place once a month, from 12-3pm, the Book Bar will be transformed into a Writers Corner. Tucked into a cosy corner, writers can gather and connect and let their imagination roam.

There, you’ll have the opportunity to sketch scenes, refine chapters, plot the next novel, novella or stage play, or simply immerse yourself in your work-in-progress.
