Today we’ve some huge & exciting news to announce!

Accidental has been successful with our application to the Community Ownership Fund from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

This is tremendous news, as since first moving into the Accidental Building in 2017 we’ve worried that the institution and community we’ve worked so hard to sustain would disappear overnight (as has happened to us twice before) and that only way to protect our work would be to one day buy the building and make it an asset for the whole community around us.

We’ve always been proud to make the Accidental Building a uniquely Northern Irish institution and this grant gives us 80% of the funding to secure it but only one year to find the other 20% and complete the process.

So we wanted to mark this Christmas gift from Ministry and thank everyone involved in making the building such a special place for Belfast and NI.

And to ask that if you want to help us save Accidental by securing the final 20% then please consider becoming a Member or sharing this post:

Join Here: https://accidentaltheatre.co.uk/membership-2025

Our Membership has been a huge support to us and in 2025 we’re focusing 100% of it towards helping fund this purchase.

Thank you again to everyone who has joined us already, who has performed here, who has come to a show, who has volunteered, who has partnered with us and who has worked with us over the years. You are all why we want the Accidental Building to be saved now and for future generations.

Thank you!

It was The Life Before Christmas and all through Accidental, not a creature was stirring apart from Steamy McCay, who was drumming for three of the greatest bands to come out of Tír Chonaill, Tír Eoghain,

Inis Eoghain and Fukuoka!

Foreign Owl () comprises three young souls born EXACTLY at the stroke of 3 bells, born PRECISELY on the land border between Japan and Ireland. 3 o'clock normally being too late or too early for anything you really want to do, they set out to create a collection of music that usurps expectations but drives home melodies that jam into the mind and linger on the tongue.

TRAMP () is the genre-queer, Donegal-accented, fiery and cathartic band breaking through the Irish DIY music scene. Their performance combines earworm guitar riffs, and drums that keep you guessing - with a raw, unrelenting voice. TRAMP’s “timely lyrics” on top of their emerging punk sound is truly infectious.

Hailing from the depths of rural Ireland, alternative Donegal singer-songwriter George Houston () was raised on classic folk, pop and rock from his parent's vast collection of cds and vinyl, always encouraged to listen and play freely with instruments, George developed a natural timeless sound, a voice beyond his years and a songwriting style sprinkled with an uninspired nostalgia

🎥 Never Seen It Film Club: Emy & Robert Watch The 'Burbs (1989) 🎬

Join Emy() and Robert () as they dive into the suburban madness of The 'Burbs! Tom Hanks leads this darkly comedic romp about nosy neighbors, mysterious newcomers, and hilariously over-the-top conspiracy theories.

Will they crack the mystery of the sinister Klopeks, or will paranoia get the best of them? Tune in for fresh takes, unexpected laughs, and the usual Never Seen It Film Club banter you love!
