Today marks the Summer Solstice in Ireland. The Solstice is the longest day and shortest night in the year. In ancient times, the Celts would pray to the Goddness Aine for a good harvest and to banish evil spirits. It was a day of celebration, where bonfires were lit and the people would dance and have a great feast. Today, its historical and mythical significance can be felt around Ireland.
