Belper Jazz Co presents Emily Masser Sun 27 April: book now!
“Emily is a singer with a wonderful future ahead, her sympathy for and talent in interpreting the standard song repertoire makes it a delight to stay ‘Old Fashioned’ with her.”
Alyn Shipton, BBC Radio 3 (Jazz Record Requests)
Belper Jazz Co say:
On April 27th the Belper Jazz Company is welcoming the fabulous singer Emily Masser as our guest at No.28. Emily was strongly recommended to us by legendary jazz pianist Steve Melling. When I heard a track from her debut album 'Introducing Emily Masser' on Radio 3 I thought "wow, you're not wrong Steve' and invited her to come and perform with us in Belper. Emily has subsequently released her second album 'Songs With My Father'. It's a magical record too and I highly recommend checking both of them out.
If you'd like to see a singer, described as a "New Star of British Jazz” and "A burning talent for the future" in London Jazz News check out the following link for more info/tickets:

THIS IS ONE OF BELPER JAZZ COMPANY'S FANTASTIC 'RONNIE STRUTTS AT No28' SUNDAY NIGHT JAZZ PROGRAMME, RUNNING MONTHLY THROUGH 2025.... LOOK OUT FOR FURTHER DETAILS COMING SOON....

Farmers Market & No28 cafe TODAY 9-1pm! It's going to be warm and sunny so we've put the pavement tables out!
Some great artists and makers stalls, plus Tan and Jeni running a free daffodil-making workshop.
We're very sad to lose Miles Halpin's beautiful lamp (still for sale, by the way - enquire at the cafe) but excited about the latest artistic addition to what we are calling No28's fourth plinth....
Tony Hall, artist responsible for the fabulous exhibition of portraits (for which we have had unprecedented feedback), will be in the cafe from 11-12pm, so do drop by to have a word.
TETRA PAKS!
Wonderfully, Amber Valley now collect tetra paks with the ordinary re-cycling, so Transition Belper are no longer collecting from No28. Please don't leave your tetra paks with us!

Language Soiree THIS EVENING 7pm: no need to book!
The Language Soiree is this evening, Thurs 06 March 7pm - no need to book.
We sent a call-out for native speakers and learners of all ability for potential Ukrainian, Mandarin, Thai and (the elusive) Polish tables and are still looking. We have had enquiries for all of these, so do get in touch to let us know if you are interested in chatting in these languages and that you will come along on the night.
Generally, just come along - no need to book - there are always French, German, Italian and Spanish tables, but best to contact us if you are interested in any other language.
If you come and there's no-one wanting to speak your chosen language, you get your money back.
Half price entry for under 18s and FREE entry for native speakers of the language that they have come to speak!
