Farmers Market cafe TODAY! Eco-fest/Repair Cafe/Bramble Feast TOMORROW!
Another weekend packed full of market delights!
The Farmers Market Cafe this morning is serving our usual freshly-made coffee and teas, smoothies, hand-baked cakes and scones along with our filled cobs and salad brunches.
Come along and see the lastest changes to First Investments' Belper Mills planning application - we've printed out the main documents and listed the changes.
There's another chance to see Stevie Mitchell's Inky Conditions exhibition - don't forget to get a ticket for his talk about the work Wed 24 Sept.
Transition Belper's Eco-fest is tomorrow, with their cafe in No28 10-3pm. Its the Repair Cafe in No28 in the morning, alongside the new Bramble Feast... activities in the Market Place and on the Memorial Gardens all day... its hard to keep up!

Language Soiree TONIGHT!
The next Language Soiree is Thurs 11 September 7pm - no need to book.
We sent a call-out for native speakers and learners of all ability for potential Ukrainian, Mandarin, Thai and (the elusive) Polish tables and are still looking! We have had enquiries for all of these, so do get in touch to let us know if you are interested in chatting in these languages and that you will come along on the night.
Generally, just come along - no need to book - there are always French, German, Italian and Spanish tables, but best to contact us if you are interested in any other language.
If you come and there's no-one wanting to speak your chosen language, you get your money back.
Half price entry for under 18s and FREE entry for native speakers of the language that they have come to speak!

ORGANIC FORMS Spheres, nests, pods Sat 20 Sept 10-4pm All abilities
On this willow workshop you will learn how to make organic forms. You will loose yourself in the random weave technique, to create shapes such as spheres, pods, nests etc. It is a very mindful practice and one of my favourites. There is no right or wrong shape so this takes the anxiety away from it having to look like something. Lovely for gardens and interiors. Good for all abilities.

Mini Christmas Trees Workshop Sun 09 Nov 10-5pm All abilities

It’s back...after a few years break I am running a mini Christmas Tree workshop again. Make your own 3ftish mini free form Christmas tree. I will show you step by step how to make a frame then weave into it, using the random technique. A beautiful organic, personalised and eco friendly Christmas Tree.

Willow eco decorations Sun 10 Dec 10-3 All abilities

On this willow workshop you will learn how to make several objects, all of which incorporate a different type of weaving technique. So hopefully there will be something for everyone. It is aimed more towards sculpture, but does use some basketry techniques too. This is a special Christmas workshop. We will be making several different decorations, such as stars, mini trees, wreaths and other lovely items. It is a great way to create your own natural eco decs!

INKY CONDITIONS is the creative endeavour of illustrator and artist, Stevie Mitchell. A continuing thread of worded pictures and uncanny happenings, INKY CONDITIONS finds depth, daftness, and occasionally darkness, in the mumbled and mundane magic of everyday life. Lives remembered and lives not really lived. And the occasional fox. Stevie works with ink and brush before combining pictures and lettering – letting inky accidents, surprises and memories happen along the way.
There are INKY CONDITIONS artworks in private collections in France, the United States, New Zealand and parts of Leeds. Stevie has self-published two collections of worded pictures and illustrates for poetry collections, short stories, musicians and more.

BRAMBLE FEAST at Belper EcoFest | Repair Cafe | all day cafe | next Sun 14 September.

to No28 10--11am for public vote between 11-12pm!
As well as the usual teas and coffees, we're serving our speciality cream teas - freshly baked scones (vg) and jam with either clotted or vegan cream from 10-3pm.
This September marks the debut of a blackberry themed food competition - THE BRAMBLE FEAST is run by a small group of locals. Its a money raising event, supported by Transition Belper, for Rukhshana Media, whose sole purpose is to share the voice of women and girls living in Afghanistan.
The Bramble Feast is also running the cafe for the EcoFest with proceeds also going to Rukhshana Media.
Can you come along (WITH CASH!) to support? You'll be most welcome.
Transition Belper will be guest cafe all day at No28 for their
ECO-FEST Sunday 14 September
with their September REPAIR CAFE running 10-1pm
The CAFE itself is serving until 3pm.
