How blinkin’ exciting! I’ve made it to the finals!

Thank you to everyone for getting my little business to this point. It’s just SO lovely to receive some recognition for allllll the hard work that’s gone into Apple Blossom so far.

There’s so much more to come with some amazing weddings and projects on the horizon but for now I’d be so grateful for anyone’s vote in this final round of the Muddy Stilettos Herts & Beds Awards!

If you’re a past, present or future couple of mine, a business I’ve collaborated with, freelancer I’ve worked with, friend or family I’d love you to vote for me! Here’s the link you need:

I’ve been lucky enough to decorate this staircase with flowers, fairy lights and candles so many times and can honestly say it never gets old!

Each design is unique to every couple and this one was exactly that. From the colour scheme, to the flower varieties and the little accents on the upper level bringing it all together. A little bit of floral magic. ✨

// SUMMER DAYS //

Remember when it was warm enough to wear just a t-shirt and the weather was good enough to get married outside? No, me neither but these gorgeous photos from of A & K’s day in July might help bring back some memories of less chilly times!

This was a joyous wedding full of colourful blooms.

// BREAKING TRADITION //

Wahhh!! When you receive a gallery and your heart skips a beat.

Bride Becca broke a few traditions at her day, not least by wearing a fabulous gold gown and letting her bridesmaids choose their own dresses so long as they fit in with the colour scheme.

We had to work particularly hard when choosing the florals on this one, making sure they complimented all the girls’ dresses without competing or getting lost against the different backdrops. Coral charm peonies, stocks, yellow billy buttons, red velvety roses and biscuit amaranthus all complimented the rust, forest green, olive, crimson and mustard dresses.

Looking back at these I just love how it all turned out! Yay for being bold enough to break some traditions!

Thank you so much for these utterly gorgeous pics. There are so many more to share from this beautiful day !

There are just too many gorgeous photos from this wedding. I found it sooo difficult to choose which ones to share first!

This was S + G’s day back in May at the beautiful . The rain held off for just long enough for to capture these beauties.

These guys opted for whites and greens with subtle hints of pink for their flowers. 💕

Beautiful, colourful, joyous flowers.

Give us creative folk a loose brief and we’ll run with it.

This was a pure celebration of fleurs and some of the boldest blooms that nature has to offer. 💕

// FLORIST’S FAVES //

If you asked a wedding florist what’s high on their list of favourites I’m pretty sure they’d answer bouquets with movement, lots of different types of blooms, colours and textures. These beauties ticked all those boxes!

Full of joy, beautiful flower varieties and colour they complemented Eve’s choice of different toned bridesmaids dresses so well.

Too many gorgeous photos to choose .kiely.weddings 😍😍

How to welcome your guests.

Welcome signage and flowers completely set the scene for a wedding and are a beautiful way to greet guests on their arrival!

Sophie and Graham’s friends and family were met with this gorgeous romantic display when they walked in the doors of Stratton Court Barn a couple of weeks ago.

// PRETTY PAMPAS //

Don’t be afraid to be different! Adding texture to bouquets and table decorations creates a modern, striking look that can set your flowers apart.

I’m totally in love with Fiona and her bridesmaids’ bold textured bouquets of classic roses, interspersed with fluffy pampas grass and structured anthuriums.

These stunning images are by the talent that is .tan_ who’s been kind enough to feature me on his blog this month too. 💕✨

My recent plea for professional photos went well and I was rewarded with some beauties!

Katie and Tom’s wedding was a real creative highlight for me with its stunning autumnal colour palette, textured notes and the opportunity to go a little bit wild with these displays. I created a wall mounted backdrop for the top table as well as some floor standing meadows which not only created a bit of a wow factor for guests but made for beautiful photos too. ✨

Brad Gommon Photography did just that with these stunning images from Kayleigh and Mark’s wedding Ashridge House back in November.

Close ups of all the little things that make up a big day are so important.

Throwback to this wonderful wedding featuring brightly coloured British blooms, a mere 165 jam jars, a huge foliage hoop and the most fabulous teepee. The super slick Susanna was at the helm and everything ran like clockwork 🙌🏼

I absolutely loved creating this joyful and bespoke Christmas wreath earlier in the week. A huge 18” commission made with hydrangeas, oranges, pine and a whole lot of love.

Another personal highlight this season ✔️ ✨

// WREATHS //

Just a small selection of some of the bespoke wreaths that have been winging their way to owners this year.

I’m overwhelmed and truly grateful for every order, every workshop booking and to those lovely people who stay loyal to me each Christmas.

I had so many people say they hadn’t seen my workshops, wreaths kits or wreaths being advertised this time around and the truth is that I didn’t put anything out there, so I feel even more humbled by those who got in touch! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Amongst all the Christmas madness I’ve still got three more weddings to slot in before the end of the year so best get back to it!

// CHRISTMAS INSTALL //

I was lucky enough to decorate the outside of this beautiful home last week and sprinkle a little extra Christmas magic. The house had not just one, but two gorgeous entrances to dress and I honestly cannot decide which one I preferred the most!

I was absolutely in my element when designing, selecting the ingredients and creating these arrangements. Every component was natural including eucalyptus, holly, pine, skimmia, hazel, ivy, berries, thistle, pine cones and p***y willow to name just a few.

Thank you to for all her help on what was easily one of my favourite projects of the festive season so far.

// SIGNATURE STYLE//

A little bit wild, a little bit unruly but always with an elegant edge, bouquets like these are my signature style. If you know me by now you know I love texture, movement and working with gorgeous roses and this wedding was no exception.

I’m going to be closing my books for next summer’s weddings shortly. ☀️ June, July, August & September are already looking manic and I’ve forgotten to factor in any kind of holiday yet again! The good news is if you’re getting married in April, May or October 2023 I still have limited availability so ping me a message sooner rather than later. 🤞🏼

// GLITZ & GLAM //

Too gorgeous for words. These guys killed it on their wedding day and had an absolute corker of a party.

Simple luxurious long-stemmed white roses glammed up the bridal party, while floral columns added a magical backdrop to the ceremony and framed the evening entertainment.

Bride Niamh looked unbelievable in both her dresses. Swipe to see more..

// TRUST //

These beautiful people trusted me with their wedding flowers not once, but twice!

The world was tentatively coming out of the pandemic when Daniella and Sam first tied the knot. They had a small church ceremony followed by an intimate dinner with close friends and family. Their florals were elegant and romantic and followed a white and green theme.

Fast forward a year (and a baby!) and the big party they had initially planned for finally came to life with many of the same suppliers from the first time around being asked back again.

This time we added hints of Earl Grey roses to the white and green theme and to compliment the bridesmaids’s dresses. Peaches, pinks and creams lifted the reception arrangements and matched the beautiful decor in the Lady Marian Alford room at Ashridge House. It was a huge honour to know they’d put their faith in me as their florist once again.

I’ll let you in to a little secret with Daniella’s bouquet. I normally like to make the bride’s bouquet first and find the pressure tends to ease off slightly after it’s out of the way. But for some reason I kept putting this one off and wasn’t until the 11th hour that I finally pulled it together. It was a relief to see it looking ok when the professional photos came through! 😂

Thank you to Kris Piotrowski Photography for sharing these beautiful images and working his magic as usual.

// MARQUEE //

More marquee weddings please! This one at Eggington House was pure elegance. Chandeliers, a mega statement top table runner, bowls of bountiful flowers on the tables surrounded by of ‘old rose’ Ester & Erik candles to bring an accent of colour.

Marquees may at first glance be a little overwhelming to fill, but that’s also their beauty. You can completely put your stamp on them, making them a true reflection of your style as a couple.

// COLOUR //

Don’t be afraid to inject some colour into your day! Your wedding should be a reflection of you as a couple, if that means you love a bit of pink and want happy vibrant colours that make you smile then go for it!

L & J did exactly that and judging by the photos of the Groom doing to splits mid-air during their reception (yes, really!) they had a truly joyful day to match their flowers.

// QUICKSAND //

Anyone who follows me will know my fave roses are called Quicksand. With their n**e to champagne hues, subtle pink undertones and a romantic, vintage feel, it’s hard not to include them in every wedding I do!

They were totally perfect for Jade’s special day where the brief was ‘romantic, a little messy, and not too wild’. Add some subtle blush pinks and mint greens and you end up with something super pretty.

Thank you to Two-D Photography - Wedding Photography & Videofor capturing this so beautifully.

Fran (and her gals➡️) looking gorgeous.

It’s the last week of the summer hols for me and while I’ve loved taking a lot of time off to spend with the family I’m so ready to get back into some semblance of a routine again!

In the meantime the juggle continues with a crazy busy week ahead with a couple of projects and prep for a beautiful wedding at the weekend.

I’ve also had some enquiries about workshops starting with the ‘C’ word so I best get on to organising those shortly too….

Jessica and her beautiful bridesmaids on the steps of Ashridge House

Jessica had a full outfit change for her evening reception, swapping her ballgown for this stunning halter dress and super comfy trainers. A girl after my own heart ✨😂

So proud to be a preferred supplier at this stunning venue and can’t wait to be back flowering here in a couple of weeks.

I’m often asked what’s ‘traditionally done’ when it comes to bridesmaids’ bouquets.

There’s no definitive answer but more often than not brides opt for scaled down versions of their own bouquets which creates great harmony with the rest of their floral arrangements.

BUT here’s a fab example of how Sophie and her ‘maids rocked something a bit different, opting for fluffy balls of gypsophila to contrast with a bridal bouquet of elegant whites and greens, full of gorgeous texture.

And this isn’t the only way to mix it up. Floral hoops, flower crowns, wrist corsages are just a few alternatives.

Us florists are always up for suggesting new ideas so just ask if you want some more inspo!

Something a little bit special for N & S’s ceremony space. Creating these, solo, was a bit of a highlight for me.

Statement florals are always a great investment. They’re inevitably photographed more, make bigger impact and are much more memorable. Plus they’re AMAZINGLY joyful for creative souls like me to make 🙌🏼✨
