Lovely to be at Notley Tythe Barn earlier this month for a beautiful wedding for a very special couple. Soft blues and whites created a calm and cool feel in contrast to the scorching weather that day! These lush blue hydrangeas were definitely the star of these displays and held their own despite the heat. A couple of spares were hiding in the wings just in case!

For E and D’s wedding ceremony garden style displays lined the aisle as a beautiful alternative to traditional pew ends. After the ceremony they were moved to the base of their top table to create a single arrangement and a pretty focal display for the wedding breakfast, making full use of them for the whole day. (They were also a great size to give away as gifts at the end of the day to be enjoyed at home … no waste here! ☺️)

Fun day teaching at Waddesdon Manor yesterday for Bucks Adult Learning. A lovely group created these beautiful wreaths and candle arrangements ready for Christmas.
We’ll be back here next year… workshop fee includes entrance to the grounds where you can wander round the Christmas stalls and watch the light displays.

Last weekend’s couple were married in this room then, with a swift turn around, enjoyed their wedding breakfast here too. Love all the grandeur but it still has a warm cosy feel too.

Welcome to Gladys Doris Flowers

Hi, I’m Katie, owner of Gladys Doris Flowers,

I make beautiful, bespoke floral designs with a natural, simple style, working closely with clients and couples to create the feel they want but make the process informal, fun and stress-free.

As a child I always loved art and craft and it was my hope to be able to work in a creative field. Many years on I have enjoyed a long career in Floristry and in the past five years also been teaching flower arranging courses for Buckinghamshire Adult Learning. I have built strong relationships with local Hotels, providing them regularly with reception flowers and event displays.

You may rightly ask where does Gladys and Doris come in to this? They are the Nan and Grandma who have inspired me in so many ways, but mainly to work hard and do something you love.
