I recently had the privilege of marrying Hayley and Matthew at the lovely Hotel du Vin in Glasgow, and what a beautiful day it was. Gorgeous autumn colours everywhere, including the signing table and Hayley's veil. This lovely couple were handfasted and also toasted each other with a very special whisky from the quaich. Charlie the ringbearer wasn't quite so enthusiastic, and found a small corner to hide in, but came up trumps when he was needed! Congratulations to a wonderful couple.

Wednesday saw the beautiful wedding of Nicola and David at lovely Cornhill Castle, along with their wee daughter Mirren who was wonderfully well behaved throughout. So many lovely touches, like the newspaper they created for the day, and napkins with Mirren and their dog's pawprints on them, for mucky pups. I tried to take artistic photographs, but perhaps that's better left to the professionals - however, I do like the staircase shot! What a beautiful dress ...

Yesterday I didn't just marry Michelle and Chris, their dogs Lexxie, Gismo and Goose were very much part of the ceremony too. We shared Taylor Mali's fabulous poem 'Falling In Love Is Like Owning A Dog' in their honour, and apart from needing rather a lot of cheese to keep them happy, it was a wonderful, happy day. Congratulations Michelle and Chris!

A lovely day yesterday at Wedderburn Barns, where I had the pleasure of marrying Ali and Guille, with their two lovely wee boys Orin and Luca. Orin walked his mum down the aisle and also gave some splendid reasons why Ali and Guille should get married ... I hope all the Spanish family and friends who were there appreciated the quaich, which was filled to the brim with limoncello! And don't Spanish men look good in kilts ...

Sarah and Marcin's wedding yesterday was packed with fun and laughter, with wee Elsie dictating the pace! We had handfasting with beautiful ribbons embroidered with music for Sarah (the singer), daisies for Marcin (the gardener!), and bees for Elsie Bee. We had lighting of candles, we had planting of wildflowers to symbolise their love of nature and we had much blowing of bubbles, bringing all the elements of air, fire, earth and water to their ceremony. Not only that, we also had two beautiful 'a capella' songs from the Back Street Sopranos, including Sarah herself. Nadia and Maddie were brilliant flowergirls, taking charge of everything from ring warming to distributing confetti to helping with all the elements. A lovely happy day, just as it should be. Congratulations to these lovely humans!

Well, yesterday was yet another first for me. We've all heard of doves being released at a wedding - yesterday we had partridges, as Andy and Katie's wedding was at home, where they run a partridge shoot. They say never work with animals (or birds?) - one of the partridges was not up for flying away into the sunshine, but promptly collapsed on the ground and went to sleep. We did get it to fly eventually ... and Mac the dog aka ringbearer was also not really up for the job, he wanted to go and say hello to all his mates. Luckily wee Ella, aged 3, managed to get him to complete the job.
She also did a great job with the sand ceremony, as long as it was very clear that hers was the purple sand ...
It was a fabulous day in the sunshine in the most beautiful countryside.
And thanks to the ever lovely Sam MacAdam - Harpist whose harp playing was, as ever, quite beautiful.
I was quite pleased to find a dress with birds on it to suit the occasion ... Congratulations Andy and Katie!

Well, today's wedding was an absolute blast. Two very small, very weird, very wonderful people from Scotland and Venezuela tied the knot at the fabulous Grosvenor Picture House, in Glasgow, and they did it their way, with bells, whistles, light sabers, popcorn, movie posters, trailers, 3D glasses and a Lego quaich. Michel is from Venezuela so the entire ceremony was subtitled in Spanish, with the script rolling out in both languages on the screen in true Star Wars fashion. We had a ten minute trailer featuring Ally and Michel interspersed with iconic film moments. We had a bride entering with a light sabre, to the Darth Vader March. We had handfasting, but not as we know it - this is the accompanying text:

Michel, you are holding the hand of the woman who loves that you are her greatest cheerleader.
You are holding the hand of the woman who loves your thoughtfulness, your kindness and your caring nature.
You are holding the hand of the woman whose weird matches your weird.
You are holding the hand of the woman who loves how you can magically coin new words, jokes, dance moves…
You are holding the hand of the woman who loves your creativity.

Ally, you are holding the hand of the man who loves how supportive you are, without being an enabler.
You are holding the hand of the man who thinks your heart is as big as you are tiny, who loves how sweet and caring and giving you are.
You are holding the hand of the man who loves to cry at movies with you.
You are holding the hand of the man whose crazy matches your crazy.
You are holding the hand of the man who sees you as his jigsaw puzzle, his glass slipper, his hyperactive squirrel.

I just love that!

Michel and Ally, you are a fabulous couple, the tiny Federation Funsize team, and thank you so much for inviting me to marry you in such a weird and wonderful way. Mil felicidades, and may the force be with you today, tomorrow and forever ...

Despite August throwing it's worst weather at us, Ann and Mike said their vows to each other in gorgeous sunshine on the beautiful roof terrace at New Lanark Hotel yesterday. Ann's granddaughters were gorgeous bridesmaids and brought a tear to everybody's eye when we heard their reasons why granny and Mike should get married. The ceremony was only a few minutes late after a mercy dash back home to get the buttonholes ...
I particularly liked the ring box that their dog Duke presented them with!
The happy couple celebrated with a street party back at home, and why not.

Awwwww ... yesterday I married Alice and Alex at Garvald Village Hall, what a lovely, happy, relaxed day it was. So much love. It took three bridesmaids and me to hold down Alice's veil in the breeze, and at one point the marriage schedule made a bid for freedom, but I bet the photos will be fabulous!

Today's wedding was a very happy fusion wedding at the lovely Cringletie House, where America met Poland and Joel and Anna said their 'I dos'. It was a very emotional ceremony, especially their beautiful and heartfelt vows, lightened at regular intervals by their wee boy Theo, who wasn't interested in being a ring bearer, but did like the confetti!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of marrying Kate and Eddie in the rose garden at the gorgeous Wedderlie House, in lovely sunshine. Seona and Scott are now officially Mr and Mrs, married today at lovely Shieldhill Castle. It was a hugely emotional ceremony, complete with handfasting and a wooden quaich. Tissues were required for the reasons why these two love each other, and there was much laughter (especially about the rats - you had to be there ...). Brodie the dog behaved impeccably throughout. Beautiful wildflowers in the chapel. Congratulations and much love to this lovely couple. ❤️❤️❤️

A beautiful wedding yesterday at the Hotel du Vin in Glasgow - Kirsty and Morgan were married in English and in French. We did a triple handfasting to include their gorgeous wee boy Louis, and (a first for me) they toasted each other from the quaich with a combination of champagne and Irnbru - the national drinks of their two countries. The ceremony was only interrupted once, by a little voice saying 'But when is it time for cake?' ❤️❤️

See that red railing? It's jam packed with red heart shaped padlocks, each one put there by a couple in love with their names on. A gorgeous sight in beautiful Colmar in Alsace.

What a pleasure to marry Jan and Graham at the gorgeous Netherbyres House yesterday in the sunshine. A mere 80 or so of their nearest and dearest helped out with a ring warming and they toasted each other with champagne from the quaich. I left them enjoying some more fizz in the garden with a saxophonist playing, ready to party the day away. Congratulations to a lovely couple of humans ❤️
