“On a dull, grey day down on the farm, the dahlias are slowing down as the season nears its end. The remaining blooms will be picked and dried, for our Christmas arrangements. Here’s a bunch of one of my favorites, Sweet Natalie, picked today and she dries so well too🌸

“Like many others this morning, I headed to the field to assess the frost damage here on the South East Coast. We’ve had a light frost, so this weekend I’ll be removing all the flowers and seeing if the Dahlias can pull through. I’m hopeful it wasn’t too harsh, but if they don’t survive, well, that’s Mother Nature for you

🌧️💨 the NW winds on Friday wiped out at least 50% of our Dahlia crop 😔. It’s been a challenging time, but we still made it to the market and we’re incredibly grateful for the support!

We’re hopeful that our remaining blooms will keep going, but we’re already thinking ahead to next season. A stronger windbreak and another tunnel are definitely in the plans to protect our precious flowers from future storms.

Fingers crossed for more sunny days ahead! 🌸🌤️
