I started The Chocolate Cellar from my home after being inspired by the book Chocolat! I made chocolate for friends and family and they all asked if I would sell them. The hobby turned into an obsession and getting tired of everywhere in the kitchen being covered in Chocolate, I converted our cellar into a secret little chocolate factory. The hobby became a full time business ... the name came fro

m where I was making chocolate! Over the years The Chocolate Cellar has moved from my home to Birkenhead, to Liverpool, back to home and now we are in New Ferry. From here we run our online shop, supply to other shops and also run chocolate making workshops for children and adults, for birthdays, hen parties and team building.

Small Business Saturday takes place this Saturday, 7th December!

The campaign is all about celebrating the nation’s small business success and encouraging people to support businesses in their communities and ‘shop local'. We’ll be marking the occasion by inviting a few of our local small business friends to come and celebrate the day with us. What are your plans for Saturday?

We have a busy few weeks ahead! This week we have our Christmas open evening and we will have our Christmas selection on show so you can place orders for collection. We will also have the lovely Maria and fabulous Diana from .unplugged with fabulous stocking fillers. Paul from will be launching a local post box in our shop and of course we'll have mulled wine and mince pies .... and a quiz for you all. Please come along if you can.

Following on from that on Thursday we have the Soroptomists International Christmas Bazaar taking place at the Royal British Legion raising funds for some fabulous charities.

On Saturday 23rd we'll be at West Kirby Farmers Market and on Sunday 24th at Oxton Village Market... I absolutely love both these markets ... the stalls are all local independents and are absolutely passionate about bringing the best to you so please do come and support your local small businesses.

Small Business Saturday UK takes place on 7th December this year. In the run up to this fabulous day the campaign chooses to highlight 100 small businesses from across the UK.

Brilliant to see our fabulous local independent postie Local Postal Solutions being highlighted today.

We'll be getting our local post box on 13th November!

Offering a complete local mail and parcel service to over 200,000 addresses on the Wirral peninsula, and now including Neston and Ellesmere Port, is Local Postal Solutions.

Delivering over 95% of their parcels on the same day as collection, they deliver over 70% of priority Mail the same day as collection and the rest are guaranteed delivery the following day.

Local Postal Solution’s budget mail service is delivered over a 5-day period with their eco-friendly bicycle deliveries, and every item they deliver is over 30% more affordable than any of the national mail and parcel couriers.

They offer free leaflet delivery to any new start-up local business that uses their service, and that they feel may need a boost. Local Postal Solutions help with their postal deliveries, which in turn helps local small businesses grow.

Local Postal Solutions estimate that in their first year they have saved local business over £5,000 in postal costs. Next year they expect that figure to grow to over £20,000.

We held one of our Dabble chocolate making workshops yesterday! Lots of lovely people and fabulous makes! Our next class takes place on 11th May and then on June 23rd. The workshops are great for celebrating birthdays , ad hoc family gatherings and for team building. We're happy to discuss options - please message us if you would like more information.

Chocolate Chocolate Basement Brownies are ready and heading out today! Thank you everyone who has been on our tasting panel and thank you everyone who has placed their first order for them. Brownies can be ordered every Tuesday and they will be sent out on Friday!

Adding a touch of gold to our vanilla spice truffles. We call them "spiced" but they are not hot. They have a touch of cardamom in them. It's not a strong taste but a beautiful touch of exotic notes combined with some excellent madagascan vanilla. Beautifully rich and luxurious. We felt they did need that gold leaf to show them off! #chocolate
