Getting to know the face behind the business☁️

Hey guys!🤩

My name is Katherine, owner of Dress Your Daydream. I thought this would be an opportunity to get to know the faces behind your beautiful balloon businesses!🥰

So, I wanted to share some fun facts to get to know each other!

🎈 I started DYDD in March 2020, originally wanting to specialise in prop hire for weddings. Only then did I discover balloons and fell in love! Since then, I built an incredible client base based mainly in Birmingham and Oxford (sending a big hug to you all for letting me share your most special moments!) And now I have the absolute privilege in sharing the strategies I have learnt with artists worldwide to help their businesses grow and flourish too!

🎈I am mama to my beautiful almost 6 year old son! (Time flies!) He is the soul reason DYDD exists and makes me proud every day. Being a mama and business owner is a juggle but worth every moment!

🎈Dress Your Daydream’s name originates from my mom always telling me I’m in a “dolly daydream” when I was younger. But that hasn’t changed!😂 My heads forever in the clouds, a woo woo thinker and love to embrace every second of life.

🎈I couldn’t be more grateful to every client and artist that has trusted me to help them with their journey and of course grateful to our wonderful team, the world’s most supportive boyfriend and family🥰

This a negative you need to look at differently👇🏼

Creative block is one of the worst things I’ve experienced in this whirlwind balloon journey!

Call me crazy… but sometimes it’s actually what we need.

We need the pause for the evolution of our creativity.

So instead of panicking when you are feeling stuck, swap the perspective and look at this as a window of opportunity to translate thoughts to your art.

Test out new techniques, use colours that you’d never put together, build in a new environment.

You have no idea what you’re capable of!✨

3 things to remember when starting your Balloon Business👇🏼

☁️ No one starts at Day 1 and becomes an over night success. Acquiring technique, developing a style and understanding business takes time - so be patient with yourself!

☁️ Surround yourself with like minded people. Other balloon artists are not your competition. They understand the hurdles you are facing so don’t be scared to reach out!

☁️ The biggest investment you should be making is your time. Making sure you are open minded and willing to be the student every day to constantly grow and adapt in this ever changing industry!

Happy New Years angels!☁️

Whilst this post is to celebrate and open heartedly reflect on 2023, it is also a time to anticipate all of the new opportunities on the horizon!🤍

As of recent months, I have been a little quieter on social media, including lives and YouTube videos. Focusing on behind the scenes and patiently waiting to share new learning opportunities for you! But also a gentle reminder for those who feel that pressure when it comes to social media and may feel like they’re falling behind - it’s okay to step back.

2023 is a year that has given me an abundance of happiness but also a lot of personal growth and life lessons in my world away from balloons. As we know, our balloon businesses evolve and adapt with us - with whatever curve balls life has in store for us that the eyes of social media cannot see.

In 2024, give yourself permission to be kind and patient to yourself above all. You’re doing the best you can and for that, this year will give you all the joy in the world.
