The iconic Grand Hotel Birmingham has once again teamed up with Birmingham Royal Ballet to bring guests a duet of festive elegance with a luxurious overnight stay and Nutcracker ticket package.

The magical Nutcracker ballet s currently running until Saturday 14th December at Birmingham Hippodrome and to celebrate, the Grade II listed Grand Hotel on Church Street has partnered with Birmingham Royal Ballet to offer an unforgettable experience – An overnight stay at The Grand Hotel Birmingham, plus tickets to a performance of The Nutcracker! 

The two iconic Birmingham brands have a natural synergy, both proud of their history within the city and both passionate about protecting their heritage for future generations. 

General Manager of The Grand, Johan Scheppers said: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Birmingham Royal Ballet this Christmas.  It is a perfect collaboration for us since we both play such a key part in the city’s history and culture.”

“Our previous partnerships have included an exquisite Sleeping Beauty themed afternoon tea and a particular highlight was welcoming the ballerinas to the hotel for a photo shoot in our elegant, Parisian style bar, Madeleine.”

The Grand Hotel Birmingham first opened in 1879 before closing in 2001 and re-opening in 2021 following a 45 million refurbishment including the restoration of the stunning Louis XIV style ballroom.  Since the re-opening it has played host to royalty and rock stars, securing its place as the most luxurious hotel in Birmingham.

Birmingham Royal Ballet was established under Peter Wright in 1990 although its origins can be traced back to 1931.   One of the world's great companies, it is a true powerhouse in classic ballet and contemporary dance, touring the UK and internationally but proudly rooted in Birmingham.

MAKE IT A COSMIC CHRISTMAS AT LULU WILD!

Lulu Wild in Brindleyplace, has a reputation for being ahead of the curve when it comes to exquisite far eastern dishes and the final menu chapter in its limited edition Enchanted Tales series is no exception– launched just in time to put some sparkle and shine to guests’ festive celebrations.

Chapter 5: Aether – Cosmic Christmas has been revealed as the last instalment in Enchanted Tales, a story that has been told throughout the seasons though stunning décor and an array of delectable dishes and cocktails. It follows four previous chapters, Fire, Water, Air and Earth.

This dazzling, limited edition, immersive menu experience is inspired by the sparkle of a star- studded night sky, with the décor in The Nest dining space designed to reflect twilight with warm golden tones and twinkling lights, providing a glamorous backdrop for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Guests dining at the modern Chinese restaurant on Waters Edge, Brindleyplace can expect brand new menus, exclusive festive cocktails, New Year's Eve cosmic countdowns and bottomless brunches. The limited edition menu is priced at £60 for two courses or £65 for three courses. Starters include the flavour-packed Bang Bang Prawns and Lobster Dim Sum, mains such as the fiery Dragon Chicken and Szechuan Monkfish and a tempting selection of desserts including the indulgent Nutella Bao Buns.

Aether will also be available at Lulu Wild’s sister restaurants SIAMAIS and ALUNA Birmingham who will each serve their own exclusive menu. Thai restaurant and cocktail bar, Siamais’ menu includes three courses for £50 with a choice of starters including Pork Belly Bites and Duck Spring Rolls, classic mains including Thai Green Curry and indulgent desserts such as the Profiterole Tower.

Cocktail bar and pan-Asian restaurant in Birmingham, Aluna, will serve a set menu with a mouth-watering selection of starters including favourites such as the Spicy Prawn Tacos and Thai Crispy Beef, mains such as Mongolian Beef or Lamb and Thai Green Curry and for those who still have room, an indulgent selection of deserts including the Chocolate Nougat Secret. Two courses are priced at £28.50 or three courses £32.50.

A limited edition range of festive cocktails is available at all three restaurants to add some Christmas cheer to the celebrations. The decadent Terry’s Old Fashioned will be hard to resist – with a rich blend of Bruichladdich, Cointreau Noir, Chocolate bitters, Orange Bitters, Demerara Gome. Brandy lovers will enjoy sipping on the Santa’s Fizz a warming mix of Pear Brandy, Lemon, Honey, Prosecco.

The cosmic countdown ends with a spectacular New Year's Eve event at Enchanted Ventures. Each of the three venues will be offering a bottomless brunch from 12 midday with unlimited cocktails and delicious brunch food. We launched Mother of Pearl spirits in the UK last month at an exclusive event at The Oyster Club. Founder Nicola Thompson Hancock welcomed guests from Frugalpac, Brand Tap Bottling and members of the hospitality industry at this intimate trade event.

The showcase in association with Midlands based Brand Tap Brands, was to launch the Australian brand, Mother of Pearl Spirits to the UK market. As the official distributor, Brand Tap Brands will facilitate the availability of Mother of Pearl’s unique vodka and gin range, catering to the discerning tastes of spirit enthusiasts across the country.

Mother of Pearl Vodka is a premium grape vodka inspired by Australia’s crystal-clear waters, marrying coastal minerality with a smooth, creamy finish reminiscent of pearls. This remarkable spirit is set to redefine the premium vodka market in Australia, bringing a taste of the sea to discerning palates.

The Oyster Club’s General Manager Chris Fikeis curated two Mother of Pearl cocktails, Cucumber Gin Club and Vodka martini with actual Vermouth Pearls! Guests were also delighted by the bespoke menu of caviar blinis, beef tartare with smoked herring roe, Citrus cured stone bass with ponzu gel on crispy fish skin and mini mushroom parfait on toasted brioche. All in all, an exceptionally delightful evening!
