2 weeks to go!
This time on Sunday 18th August, our traders will be setting up their pitches for Quinky's Retro Fest at Herbert's Yard!
Will you be there with your old MG Rover or classic British car?
Will you be shopping the vintage and retro wares?
Or will you be there for a good munch courtesy of Digbeth Dining Club's street food vans and the 2 on-site bars?
Whatever reason, we can't wait to see you for this free event on a (hopefully) sunny Sunday!
Dogs are welcome. Family friendly!

Trader applications still being taken at www.quinky.store to join us for a 2 day spectacular at Banbury Canal Festival with over 20,000 visitors anticipated!
Polite reminder - if you've been approved to join us and not paid, your place isn't secure.
If we have a trader apply and pay before you, we will notify you via email/message that you are no longer on the trader list.
We aren't at capacity yet. So, hopefully it won't get to that stage. We don't like letting anyone down.

Where are all my and lovers at?
Sunday 18th August, 12-6, Herbert's Yard, Longbridge, Birmingham - pop along for a FREE event and shop some gorgeous vintage and retro goodies!
We have an array of traders and vintage furnishings, along with handmade garms and more.
Grab a drink, a bite to eat from one of the many street food traders and settle down with some old school tunes.

If so, why not pop along with your pride and joy, on August 18th to Herbert's Yard, Longbridge, Birmingham!
We will be on the old MG Rover factory site with our traders, Digbeth Dining street food vendors, 2 on-site bars and free parking for up to 3hrs.
Maybe meet some fellow do a spot of shopping and soak up the sun for a few hours!

*SPAM ALERT* - We will be spamming our feed with posts this week, for our retro fest event on August 18th.
This is to reach traders for more applications (lots still unpaid and incomplete, so we can't afford to waste time now) and to reach customers, so our traders have a great sales day!
Herbert's Yard has a natural footfall of a couple of thousand, anyway, without an event happening - so we have high hopes - but it can't hurt to reach more!
You've been warned.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR TRADERS**
As of 1st August, all ACCEPTED trader applications will only be confirmed and added to our trader list once a minimum 50% deposit is paid (or the full amount, if preferred)
Presently, we are accepting traders, who are either not paying, dropping out last minute or ghosting us.
This is really unfair and unprofessional practice.
We are a small business of 2. We book venues with great positioning and central locations, in the hopes of organic footfall, but premium venues also means premium costs.
When traders don't pay or ignore us, it leaves us in the position of wondering if we'll have to cancel an event and let people down, because we simply cannot afford to pay for venues upfront, in the hopes traders don't let us down last minute.
We are well aware that we have a way to go to build our trader and customer base - but we PRIDE ourselves on our care, attention and consideration to traders.
We believe we offer way more to traders in the way of communication, beautiful venues, complimentary drinks and more, than lots of other event managers do.
All we ask is the same respect in return.
We've got BIG ambitions for Quinky and hope you'll continue to support us in what's to come.

We are still looking for traders, especially glitter/face painters and family friendly stalls.
This is a very family oriented venue - dog treats, vintage kids clothing etc would go down a storm.
Also still open for vintage and retro clothing, flea and accessories.
This ISN'T like our usual events for indie, craft and flea. Specifically retro and vintage 😎 ✌️

Apologies if we've been a bit quiet on the grid! These 2 little scamps graduate from nursery this month and start primary school in September, so it's been a busy few weeks!
We are still planning our Herbert's Yard event in the background and going through applications!
18th August, street food from Digbeth dining club, 2 on-site bars, indoors and outdoors, free-flowing space.
We can't wait!

We've joined forces with Banbury Council this year for and are looking for a variety of vintage, craft, indie and flea traders to join us for the weekend of 5th and 6th October.
Traders will be outdoors but under cover, so, protected from the elements!

Next Saturday 25th May. This is not a Quinky event but we will be hosting and donating vintage clothing for the swap, too!
Come along to the bring up to 10 items of clothing and swap for replacement clothes in new sizes, styles (or whatever you need)
Perfect for sustainability, grabbing a bargain and raising funds for a good cause.
are a local charity who provide practical support to local, vulnerable people, experiencing a range of issues.

Our next event is June 29th!! We are back at Pump Rooms, across both ground-floor rooms!
There'll be live music, indie traders and vintage clothing.
As there will be no tea room in the conservatory (the lovely Kate is on holiday!) We have even more space for traders!!
So, why not join us in this picturesque town, idyllically located next to 2 beautiful parks, gardens, on the main town parade and right by the train station 🌞😍

What a fab day at Northampton museum yesterday.
Beautiful traders, beautiful customers and the sun shone!
Our next event is Leamington Spa in the picturesque Pump Rooms.
Live music, traders across 2 groundfloor rooms, situated opposite Jephson Gardens and alongside the Bandstand Gardens for all the families and passersby enjoying the sunshine.

Small businesses... save money!

A couple of times recently, we've been asked if small traders can share a pitch together, to help with costs.
The simple answer is "YES!"
How it's even a question, is beyond us! & why some greedy events don't allow it, is deplorable.
Times are hard!! Especially for small businesses and crafters.

We try to keep our costs as low as possible, but with the premium venues we choose and hire costs/licensing/advertising, that's not always possible. Most of the time, we're lucky to even make a profit ourselves (unless we charge on the door) so, we get it!!

If you don't need a full 6ft space on a table, team up, get a trader buddy on board, share the pitch and halve the cost! We are more than happy for you to do that. Just ensure both trader names are in the application and you're good to go!

Leamington Spa - November 17th! Are you a small business, looking to trade, but worried you won't fill a whole table? I have a lovely trader, who makes handmade, beaded earrings, hoping to join us at The Pump Rooms on November 17th, but she'd be hoping to share a 6ft trestle table. This usually works for smaller items like candles, accessories, jewellery etc. If you'd like to share a table, making it only £30, please message us and let us know 😊 And as a side note; all small traders are welcome to share pitches. Especially during these trying financial times 🫶

£40 pitches at Leamington on June 29th, IF we can fill both rooms!! Please apply ASAP (it'll say £60, our usual price) and if we succeed in filling the rooms to capacity, all traders only pay £40 and those who've already paid, will be refunded the difference. We usually have the tea party in the 2nd room, but as Kate is on holiday, we can take in more traders and bring costs down. We know how hard trading is these days, so anything we can do to cut costs, we will do! We'd love to see you at #leamingtonspa #pumprooms for our Summer event! Being "curvy" "plus size" "fat" "hourglass" or whatever else you want to call it, sometimes really sucks!! Especially when you find and sell vintage beauties.
