People of Bearwood (and beyond!)

Last week I spotted a post from the absolute legend , asking for raffle prizes. The raffle is to raise funds for who do an AMAZING job in the local community with events, activities and support services. I'm delighted to be able to support them with a prize.

I'm offering a FREE CEREMONY to celebrate a wedding, civil partnership or vow renewal (worth £800), or a naming or welcoming ceremony (worth £500).

To get your tickets, head over to this weekend. The draw is taking place on Sunday 8th December at the Christmas quiz, held by that other Bearwood legend, .

The prize doesn't include venue hire, catering or any other additional services.

A celebrant-led ceremony isn't legally binding, but you can easily sort the legal stuff at your local register office.

You can gift the prize to a friend or family member if you like.

Here's Michelle and Pete, my latest clients! They're celebrating their wedding next summer in their pub, The Green Man in Long Itchington, Warwickshire.

I camped at The Green Man this summer and had a lovely couple of days. Imagine my surprise when Michelle contacted me about their wedding!

It's going to be an outdoor, nature-inspired wedding in the picturesque field behind the pub. The pub is at the heart of the village so it'll be a real community affair.

I'm blooming delighted to be included in the Eclectic Wedding Encyclopedia! 

Run by wedding industry legends Sassy and Jo (more about them later), EWE is the go-to listings site for anyone looking for something a bit different for their wedding. So, being something a bit different myself, I was super-chuffed to be included in the celebrants section. 

Sassy is a kick-ass wedding photographer. When my clients Justin and Richard asked for a recommendation, Sassy was the obvious choice. Jo is a ridiculously talented designer creating wonderful bespoke wedding gowns at .

Alongside the listings site, Jo and Sassy run the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza, a wedding show like no other! It's fun, vibrant and packed full of the coolest, quirkiest wedding suppliers you could hope to meet. And guess what? I'm going to be there! 

I can't wait to set up my stall and tell all those fab couples about my ceremonies! There'll be goodies, discounts and even a giveaway!

I loved Kristina and Kieran from the start. The patience and compassion that they showed each other was really touching. They were quirky and fun together and shared a special kind of energy.

It's a shame the relationship didn't last but I'm so glad they stayed friends and can still share fun moments.

I had a lovely trip to The Green Man in Long Itchington today. I camped there this summer in my Berlingo micro-camper Belinda Biscuits with my friend . I couldn't believe it when landlady Michelle contacted me out of the blue!

Michelle and Pete are a wonderful couple and they have a very special love story.

Look who I bumped into yesterday! It was lovely to see my wonderful grooms and at Kings Heath Street Fest.

It was a fabulous community event that really celebrated the diversity and creativity of Kings Heath. Thanks to , , , .york.rd, , ,
and all the artists, traders and people of Kings Heath for another fabulous event.

And as a wonderful finale, there was another proposal on stage! At the end of 's Tropical Soundclash set, trumpeter Charlie's girlfriend took to the stage and proposed! And Charlie said yes!

I had the pleasure of conducting a naming ceremony for Rachael and Barry's one-year-old daughter at the stunning Wood Norton Hotel near Evesham in Worcestershire this August.

It was a small family ceremony on a beautiful sunny day. This naming ceremony was a little bit different - most naming ceremonies are for young babies, but this was to mark her first birthday. Parents Rachael and Barrie wanted to celebrate their daughter's birthday and also have the opportunity to pledge their commitment to her upbringing, along with her grand parents and guide parents.

Rachael and Barrie's adorable daughter was the star of the show from the start! She whirled and twirled around the room in her wheelie-walker, and provided plenty of comic moments!

After making their promises, the key adults took part in a sand ceremony. Each adult added a different layer of coloured sand to a heart-shaped jar, and pledged their love and support as they did. Guests also wrote wishes in a special book. The sand jar and wish book will be treasured keepsakes for years to come.

It was a lovely ceremony - informal and fun, but with meaningful and poignant moments too.

Here's what mum Rachael said about the ceremony:

"Rachel performed a lovely naming ceremony for our baby daughter. The ceremony was exactly what my husband and I had wanted - simple, relaxed and most of all, fun. Our little daughter had great fun doing reverse-donuts in her wheelie-walker during the ceremony, and Rachel was really happy to go with this, allowing us all time for a chuckle, making the whole thing great fun.

Rachel was great to work with, guided us beautifully to put the ceremony together, and was helpful in making suggestions where we weren’t sure about elements of the ceremony. Thank you Rachel, for a lovely naming ceremony, where we could all laugh together, and for the lovely little cuddly giraffe you gave our daughter- he’s called Norton after the hotel!"
