STEM AT HOME: Cloud in a Jar
This one's a really cute experiment to show those future scientists just how clouds form and rain falls.
All you need is:
1 adult (hot water involved)
1 large glass jar / vase
Ice
Kitchen foil
A kettle
Instructions:
1. Fill glass jar with boiling water, three quarters full
2. Empty out two-thirds of the water using oven gloves (the jar will be hot!)
3. Shape the foil into a "tray" large enough to sit atop the jar
4. Load ice into the tray while it sits on top of the jar
5. Wait. After a minute or two, you'll see clouds form and rain fall
Remember, be safe: ADULT and oven gloves required.
