A customer request for a birch heart with a spring floral spray for a birthday remembrance.
I used willow to create the base frame work and wind fall birch for the main structure. Freshly cut birch with catkins was then bound to create movement and added texture.
A moss section was inserted to support spring bulbs, seasonal foilage, dried flowers and cut flowers.
As a member of my funeral and memory designs are always created sustainably and creatively.
If you're a student looking at developing your skills in sustainable farewells, pop over to my website or dm for details on the next farewell flowers module.

New Venue!
I'm so looking forward to offering my workshops at .
Following a venue recommendation, myself and fellow crafter visited on Friday. It was a lovely drive out and a perfect opportunity for lunch and a catch-up on route!!
It's picture perfect, and the community barn space is the ideal workshop space, and a friendly and warm welcome awaited us.
Located in Ansley, it not only boasts pretty countryside views but is easily accessible for those living in and around the local villages. It's also only a 20-minute journey from my home studio, so it's perfect if you're craving some green space!
I currently have three workshops on offer at the farm. Spring Wreathing, Summer Flower Arranging, and a Dried Flower Wall Panel (pic to follow)
These workshops, along with the full program of workshops and courses, are now live to book via the website.

I loved creating this bouquet with my career course students.
I've always enjoyed constructing bouquet frames. They provide a wonderful structure to weave flowers and foliage and offer such wonderful opportunities for creativity.
I've been a florist for over 30 and love recreating designs and revisiting techniques I explored in those first years
I have some old photos to refer to, but often, it's a memory, no smart camera phones back then! We'd have to wait until the film was finished to see how the images came out 🤣

Following the successful launch of my Career Course , a second delivery will start in late February.
Teaching is my absolute passion, I love nothing more than passing on knowledge to enthusiastic students.
With over 30 years of experience in the floristry industry and 16 years of teaching, there's plenty to share!
During the past decade, there have been huge changes within floristry, with many florists becoming more conscious of their responsibility to create more seasonal and sustainable designs, myself included.
My Career Course has been created with this in mind, covering an array of designs and techniques using sustainable approaches and seasonal blooms.
Delivered in my home studio the course will run over seven modules one of which will be a full-day installations workshop on location. Currently, there is good availability for the full course and individual modules will be available on the website soon.
You can check out the full course here https://amberjean.co.uk/career-course

Welcome to Amber Jean Flowers.
My name is Claire and I have a passion for all things flower related!
I have been a florist for over 25 years working both within the flower industry and education. Having first started my training at Solihull College I was then lucky enough to go on to work at several prestigious florists before starting my career as a floristry tutor for Birmingham Adult Education.
During my floristry career I entered many floral competitions achieving runner up in regional heats of Interflora Florist of the year as well as winning heats at the Spring Florist Event.
I also spent many happy years as a NAFAS area demonstrator traveling the midlands and further afield to share my love of flowers and foliage.
My career within the Education sector gave me the opportunity to pass on my skills and knowledge to many a budding florist! Although a rewarding career I felt that my more recent role as a subject leader took me further and further away from the hands on floristry and I needed an outlet to freely be creative and so Amber Jean Flower School was born.
The Flower School element of my business was established in 2014 with the name change coming later in 2019 in order to offer a full range of services including, bespoke flowers for weddings, events and funerals.
Along with the name change 2019 saw me adding another string to my bow as I ventured into the world of growing cut flowers. Rather than import my goal is to eventually solely use British grown seasonal flowers and foliage.I currently live in an urban environment so this is perhaps challenging in regard to space but no less enjoyable.
I continue to grow both within my business and creatively. I aspire to constantly offer new and exciting opportunities within my Flower School as well as providing a bespoke floral services for all occasions.
