As we welcome rum to the Midlands Whisky Festival offering this year, we're kicking things off in style with a superb masterclass from none other than Richard Seale, Master Distiller and Founder of the Foursquare Rum Distillery.

Through Richard’s leadership, this Barbadian distillery has earned a swathe of awards, including Outstanding Spirits Producer, Rum Producer of the Year, International Spirits Challenge 2021 Supreme Champion, and, a near-perfect 99/100 score for the latest Exceptional Cask Release, Equipoise, at IWSC 2024. This rare opportunity will allow guests to liaise directly with Richard Seale, a true master of his craft, whilst sampling six superb expressions from the Foursquare range.

Glencadam and Tomintoul will once again be joining us for the Midlands Whisky Festival. Travel from the rugged beauty of the Scottish east coast with Glencadam’s creamy and moreish malt, to the lush greenery of Speyside through a sip of Tomintoul’s floral and gentle house style. Both distilleries offer a vast selection of small-batch expressions, something for every palate!

Try James Eadie Whisky at the Midlands Whisky Festival. The revival of a historic brand, James Eadie's efforts in researching their legacy have unearthed remarkable discoveries about the history of Scotch whisky. They also produce rather brilliant whisky to boot!

Sample the recreation of their historic Trademark X brand, as well as the latest single cask and small batch expressions, and learn about how this valiant bottler is changing the perception of Scotch. All this and more on the 5th and 6th of October at Midlands Whisky Festival 2024.

That’s right, a room dedicated to rum will be added to this year’s Midlands Whisky Festival! This brand-new space will focus on producers of authentic rum from around the world. Enjoy rums from England to Peru; from familiar well-loved brands to new and exciting craft producers, along with a not-to-be-missed Rum Masterclass with none other than Richard Seale, Master Distiller and Founder of the Foursquare Rum Distillery.

There will still be more whisky than ever at our next show and this welcomed expansion will create even more fascinating avenues for spirits fans to explore! Talk directly to the producers as you sample their wares and learn more about the world of authentic rum.

New Exhibitor! The Bushmills Irish Whiskey Distillery will be attending the Midlands Whisky Festival for the very first time this October. Regarded as the oldest licensed distillery in the world, the Bushmills legacy spans some 400 years. Noted as one of just two distilleries to survive the brutal lull of the Irish whiskey industry through the late 20th century, this indomitable distillery now enjoys enviable stocks of fine aged malt whiskey in a new epoch of Irish distilling. We're delighted to welcome Brand Ambassador Janice Snowden to our 20th show, an expert on Irish whiskey who will guide guests through the superb expressions on taste.

Arran Single Malt will be returning to the Midlands Whisky Festival! It's with great joy that we welcome Lochranza Distillery back for the 2024 instalment of our festival. That's not all, as for the first time ever, we will be welcoming their brand new sibling distillery, LAGG! BUFFALO TRACE MASTERCLASS 🇺🇸🥃

The Buffalo Trace Distillery has been at the forefront of innovation in the bourbon and rye industry since the late 1800s, since becoming the most awarded distillery ever and responsible for some of the highest regarded whiskeys on the planet.

In this masterclass, guests will taste six superb bourbons and rye whiskeys, including extremely limited and highly sought-after expressions, sampling through the various mash bills that are paramount to Buffalo Trace’s success.

With English whisky now exploding in popularity, we're proud to have long featured a collective of craft English producers at the Midlands Whisky Festival.

This year, we will be welcoming back the White Peak Distillery. Based in a UNESCO World Heritage site in Derbyshire, White Peak produce lightly peated malts with authenticity close to heart, presenting their whiskies at strengths bespoke to their flavour profile. Their excellent small-batch expressions have quickly earned them a resolute fanbase, from casual spirits sippers to devout whisky enthusiasts.

With just over 4 months to go, we are excited to start highlighting exhibitors joining us this October.

Situated in the most westerly point of the UK mainland, the Ardnamurchan Distillery's mission epitomises the new generation of Scotch, focusing on slow, considered production methods and traditional techniques whilst retaining a conscious effort to use renewable sources of energy and protect the environment. The distillery's staggeringly beautiful setting is a daily reminder of why such efforts are important, with their renewable implementations producing enough energy to take the distillery completely off-grid. The complex nature of Ardnamurchan's fine malt whisky justifies their diligent care in the production, presenting a characterful spirit style that pervades every expression in their now-extensive portfolio.

Masterclasses offer an intimate face-to-face setting with famous faces in the industry. Last year we welcomed critically claimed author Dave Broom to co-host House of Suntory 100th anniversary with Senior Brand Ambassador, David Miles, a once-in-a-lifetime tasting of rare Japanese malts; Bunnahabhain Warehouse 9 veteran, David Brodie, for an exploration of limited releases and samples drawn straight from the cask; Springbank Sales Manager, Melanie Stanger, sharing single cask and venerable expressions from Scotland's most traditional distillery; Ronan Currie, Assistant Blender of The GlenAllachie, for a hands-on session of deconstructing their 10 Year Old Cask Strength single malt expression through cask samples.

Just six months to go until the Midlands Whisky Festival 2024! As we approach the milestone of our 20th show, we're taking a moment to reflect on shows gone by; the fantastic memories created, the legendary figures we've welcomed, and the amazing drams we've shared.

It's been a long and rewarding journey, with every year of the festival growing in scale as we challenge ourselves to deliver an even better experience than before. We've set ourselves the same challenge for 2024, celebrating our 20th show with the scale it deserves.
