Dear Friends,

I bet this is not the way you were expecting to hear back from me, but today, I’m reaching out to you with a heartfelt appeal.

On the 3rd February I received the terrible news of the passing of guitarist Pablo Dominguez, after a short and unexpected battle with a very aggressive cancer, at the young age of 38.

Pablo was an essential part of the flamenco community in London for over 15 years, sharing his incredible talent and passion for music and flamenco. He performed on multiple occasions at our Flamenco Nights, both at our restaurant and at Walmley Club, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of watching him. His dedication to flamenco and his generosity of spirit touched so many lives.

Pablo was a loving husband, devoted father, and a true dreamer. His dream was simple yet powerful—to build a home for his family, a place where his children could grow and thrive. Having received his diagnosis only a few weeks ago, sadly, Pablo passed away on 3rd February in Cádiz, leaving behind his wife Noelia and their two young children, Diego and Mateo, one of whom requires special care.

Now, Noelia faces not only the immense grief of losing her husband but also the daunting challenge of finishing the home Pablo started building for them. With only one income and two children to care for, obtaining the necessary funds to complete their home is nearly impossible without help.

This is where we can step in.

And that's a wrap! 👋

We could have not ended our journey in a better way.

SO much to be grateful for! 🙏

On Friday we got to see most of our regulars at Walmley on a sold out evening and had an unexpected special guest on stage, my ❤️.

Saturday was eventful as The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury got flooded and I only had a few hours to find an alternative venue (the show must go on!!). Thankfully most people accepted the change and came for an unforgettable performance and tapas!

Last night we closed the weekend at Instituto Cervantes, again with a fantastic audience and with the help of .

Thank you to these amazing artists and people: .avecilla, , and . It has been an absolute pleasure spending the weekend with you and witnessing your incredible talent and stage chemistry. I miss you already!!

Thank you to all our fantastic audiences for your great feedback and kind wishes, and to my family and friends for supporting my journey with Flamenco Nights.

⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT⚠️

It is time to share with all our followers that our upcoming Flamenco Nights shows at the end of this month will be the final ones before we close our ‘doors’.

Flamenco Nights began in the cozy basement of Amantia, our beloved Spanish restaurant in Birmingham, back in 2016. Many of you followed us to Sutton Coldfield after Amantia’s sale in 2019, where we continued to bring the essence of flamenco with new, incredibly talented artists.

Over the past five years, we’ve welcomed a wonderful array of top musicians and dancers, fostered lasting friendships, and built a loyal community of supporters, whom we will deeply miss and forever appreciate.

This past year, we expanded our reach, performing in new venues and theaters across the UK. We've had the pleasure of collaborating with amazing partners like Flamenco de Leeds, Ana García, and Rodriguez Events, creating unforgettable experiences together.

As our personal paths lead us in new directions, it has become time for Flamenco Nights to come to a close.

I know for a fact that we will be missed by many, and that can only mean we did something right.

To everyone that has made every bit of Flamenco Nights possible, a heartfelt THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Introducing Guitarist Adrián Sola 🎸

Originally from Barcelona, Adrián Sola is a master flamenco guitarist who brings fire and precision to every performance.

Known for his versatility and passion, Adrián has worked with flamenco companies across Europe and is currently the musical director for the Lourdes Fernandez Flamenco Company in London. His blend of traditional and contemporary flamenco styles makes him a captivating presence on stage.

Adrián is a regular in our Flamenco Nights stage, and we can´t wait to welcome him again for our last performances!

Introducing Marta Gálvez 💃

Born in Córdoba, Marta Gálvez began her flamenco journey at the age of three, developing a style that seamlessly blends elegance and intensity. She has graced the stages of renowned tablaos such as Corral de La Morería in Madrid, Tablao Cordobés in Barcelona and Las Tablas in Madrid, captivating audiences with her powerful performances.

Marta has collaborated with several esteemed flamenco dance companies, including Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, Mercedes de Córdoba Cía, Compañía de Jesús Carmona, María Pagés Cía, Ballet Flamenco José Porcel, Juan Carlos Avecilla Cía Danza, and David Coria Cía.

In September 2024, Marta premiered her production "Dama de Noche" at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid, showcasing her evolution as a dancer and choreographer.

Her accolades include the First Prize for Young Flamencos by the Provincial Council of Córdoba, underscoring her rising prominence in the flamenco world.

😍 Absolutely thrilled to have for the first time in Flamenco Nights dancers Juan Carlos Avecilla and Marta Gálvez presenting 'AFLAMENKAO', a show that captures the entire essence of Spanish dance. ✨Santiago Lara is one of the most important names in the new generation of Spanish guitarists.

🎸From Jerez de la Frontera, he has received along his career some of the most prestigious guitar awards including the Giraldillo al Toque at the 2018 Seville Flamenco Art Biennial, the Toque Award at the Seville Flamenco Biennial year 2000 and the National Flamenco Art of Córdoba 2013 (2nd).

🎼Santiago, producer, composer and musical director, has launched 5 albums as a soloist: “El Sendero de lo impossible” (2008), “Sentimientos Nuevos” (2012), “Flamenco Tribute to Pat Metheny” (2017) “La Guitarra en el tiempo” (2019) and “Your Song on my Guitar” (2021).

As a soloist he has performed prestigious concerts all over the world. He is also a regular collaborator on world tours with dancer and choreographer Mercedes Ruiz, for whom he has composed the music for her 11 shows, winning important awards such as the Critics' Prize at the Jerez Festival on several occasions.

🎻In 2023, Santiago opened the Córdoba Guitar Festival at the Teatro de la Axerquía, playing the work MEDEA by Maestro Manolo Sanlúcar, together with the Córdoba Orchestra. Obtaining great success from critics and the public.

🌎They performed their show DUAL at the prestigious Avignon Festival, taking the show on tour afterwards to the US, to New York and Chicago.

On November 17, 2023, the “Spanish Sounds” Gala premieres at the Villamarta Theatre in Jerez. In this gala for Symphony Orchestra and Guitar, Santiago performs “The Concert of Aranjuez” (J. Rodrigo) and premieres his first work, written entirely by him, for Guitar and Orchestra: “Concert No. 1 for Spanish Guitar and Orchestra”, obtaining acclaimed success with the audience and critics.
