We always appreciate the time our customers take to write feedback for us, whether negative or positive and we always strive to improve our products and services.

Our Shoyu Dipping Sauce is made 'in-house', we use the base ingredient which is Japanese Tamari Soy Sauce (Gluten-Free) along with a combination of other ingredients (one of which is Japanese Kombu/Seaweed).

This is traditionally served alongside Sushi in Japan, undiluted Tamari Soy is never served. Undiluted Tamari Soy is very salty and a lot darker in colour. However, in Japan, customers are able to request at the point of consumption to have their Shoyu altered in taste, of which Chefs are always obliged to change at that point, to suit the customer preferences. Which can then result in a 'saltier' taste.

We can, on request, alter the taste of our Shoyu Dipping Sauce to make our service better suited to the customer taste preference.

If any of our customers can also agree with the customer feedback, then we have a great solution. We have always had undiluted Tamari available in the 'Extras' section of our website. Allowing you to further increase that specific flavour of your dipping sauce.
It is not a problem or an insult to change this aspect of the Dipping Sauce. We serve it in this way for this purpose. Every customer has different taste preferences and we can always add more of a product, but we can never take it away once added.

If you do not wish to purchase our Tamari Soy as an extra. There is another alternative, you can purchase Tamari Soy (or any Soy, but please note, most available Soy is Chinese and not Japanese and if you are Gluten-Free, Tamari is suitable for you). You can then keep it in the cupboard at home and then when you order from us, you can alter that taste to suit your preference.

We can also just directly swap our Shoyu Dip Sauce for Tamari at no extra cost. I do not personally recommend it but you, the customer, know your taste buds better than I do. :)

For our customers and for us alike. We are aware of Shoyu Dip Sauces dripping/leaking during transit. We have had some good customers notifying us of the issue but we have also been aware since Day01 of purchasing the sauce pots that this was a known issue. We apologise for the frustrating inconvenience this has caused for you, our customers.

We have tried our best to find alternatives that are leak-proof, but also environmentally friendly (October ban is fast-approaching and we have dwindled our supplies of plastic for our customers). This has been the last part of our single-use plastic that customers receive, so we will be prepared for the October ban.

So to combat both issues, we are trialling these, same great Shoyu Dip Sauce, without the typical drips and mess.
You will still receive an empty sauce pot to dispense this into.
So thank you for letting us know about the issue, we hope this addresses the issue and if there are any further issues with any of our products or service. Please do not hesitate to let us know.

You may have noticed that we are no longer supplying the cutlery set that you typically received with Hot Food products, this will continue to be the case, until we locate an appropriate alternative that is eco-friendly.

Thank you Kirsty for your feedback. As every Sushi is rolled to order, it does take time to produce orders but that means we can customise your Sushi to be perfect for you. We always try to accommodate customer requests as best as can, whether it's just a dislike for an ingredient or you have a Dietary Requirement (e.g. Vegetarian, Halal, etc.) or if you have a Food Allergy. If there is something we are unable to accommodate; for whatever reason, we will notify you immediately and we may have to reject your order with a refund if there is nothing we can do.

Thank you Danya, one our most recent regular customers. We are glad you enjoyed your order today and thank you for your constant orders with us. We are currently trialling a new brand of rice in a bid to improve our products; higher quality and higher price but we hope to not pass those costs onto you as we deal with our Supplier in having this become a cheap and constant supply. It's a hard balance to always keep the prices down at the moment and still keep the quality of the product.

While we accept reviews both negative and positive. We don't accept fraudulent reviews.
The name of the person reviewing does not relate to any names of customers that have ordered from us, but it is possible that they ate a meal with one of our customers. However, that being said, the person reviewing our business has left no comments, no photos and not contacted us prior. I have reached out by replying to the review, to locate their experience with us and I will await response within a reasonable time to get back to us, if their order can be located, I will accept the review as genuine.
Whether 1 star, 3 star or 5 star, if your review doesn't link with an order in any way, shape or form, I won't accept it and it will be reported. Customers that take their time to write genuine reviews of businesses are always appreciated. I always make sure to respond to each and every feedback. Businesses rely a lot on feedback, feedback is good for us to grow from (if it is a criticism) and for other potential customers to see what it is like before they order. If it is a negative review, I will always say that you should always contact the business first to find a suitable resolution, if you still wish to leave a review, then feel free and please do so.

**Update**
Review will be staying up. Apparently, the person not contacting us in the meantime and not actually being a customer according to our website ordering database is not a good enough reason even though it is a false engagement with the business profile. So that's that. I look forward to hearing back from Dave about his review. I will be placing his review on the Blue Oak Bistro website along with any other reviews, as I haven't updated it for a while.

If you are unsure about any of the wording on the Menu, or you want a specific roll that has certain ingredients in, then just message or call us and we will assist you. We can direct you to a roll that is best suited to you, we can let you know about any allergens or dietary requirements that we can accommodate, we can help you decide on customising your Variety Platter... Vegetarians, Vegans, Halal and G-Free needn't worry, order any Variety Platter and let us know about your dietary requirements on the Order Notes on the website, and we can automatically adjust the Platter to suit you, or let us know your preferences and we will always try to accommodate. Don't be put off the 18piece just because of one choice, if you don't like it, say so.. we will see what can do to make it what you want. Please remember that our Variety Platters have a pre-set choice, but substitutions may be made due to stock levels of certain products. If you check the Menu, you can actually see what is out of stock on there before you order.

Another week passed, it goes so quick.

Our Sushi Menu is back online! We apologise for the inconvenience, our Supplier delayed dispatch which then ultimately meant we were without Sushi Rice for a full day. It is currently being cooked and should be ready in about an hour.

We already have orders lined up due to customer requests to be notified immediately on receipt.
