Today is National Fish and Chip Day 2024 this is usually celebrated on Friday 7th June but has been brought forward to today Thursday 6th June. This date has been specifically chosen to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings to honour all those involved.

The dates are from Monday 10th June to Friday 21st June, with accommodation provided from the night before until the night after. You'll be working 8-10 hours every day, so it's definitely a full-on role. They're looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience in a rosette environment, so if that sounds like you, this could be the perfect fit.

22 years ago today I set up my first and only business Catering Elite and what a 22 years it’s been!! I moved to Blackpool knowing no one snd with no prior business experience and not much recruitment or managerial experience at the time either but lots of experience working within hospitality mainly as a Temp myself and a strong belief that there was a niche in the market for a recruitment agency solely supplying to the hospitality and catering industry run by somebody who had a wealth of experience working within it. Only just having passed my driving test with just £300 to my name moved to Blackpool. I thought that would be the best place to start a recruitment agency for the catering industry. My first ever function through Catering Elite was the esteemed illumination switch on dinner at the DeVere hotel they needed 12 staff…. I currently had one, me! But I didn’t let a little thing like that put me off. I ran around Blackpool sourcing the best staff I could lay my hands on. I even purchased all of their uniform and we pulled it off brilliantly and from that one function we got our next client, which was Blackpool pleasure Beach. In the last 22 years, I’ve had enormous highs and catastrophic lows including the worldwide pandemic and a deep recession I’ve not always got it right but I’ve always had passion and belief in myself and the amazing team that I’ve built around me. Thank you so much everyone who has worked for and with me over the years many of whom have remain friends to this day. Lee, my amazing branch manager for the Blackpool office has been with me for over 14 years but most amazing of All is our lovely Danny who has Temped for Catering Elite pretty much since I first opened 22 years ago! Couldn’t have done it without all of you guys. Not sure I’ve got another 22 years in me but will certanly give it a go!
