I had a lovely little trip to Lowton today.
Why?
Well, it was to collect my award.
Duane from took time from his busy schedule and insisted on presenting it to me just like he would if I'd been at the award night.

Thank you Duane and again, thank you to all my amazing couples.
You're the best!!

This afternoon we gathered to celebrate Caroline's life, and what an extraordinary life she led.
Caroline was an accomplished vet, who was highly thought of.

She was loved by so many. Caroline's service was beautiful and so personal.
Her sister and two daughter's who she cherished read words of love which captured her perfectly.

Caroline's friend from school read this extract from Winnie The Pooh which reminded us all that Caroline's legacy will forever live on.

"If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together... there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart... I’ll always be with you."

She will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

As always, it was a pleasure to work along Helen Ashmore Funeral Service, who always always give such professionalism, care and compassion to their families.

We did it πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
Your votes and kind words took me over the finish line and I won, Best Celebrant 2024 in the North West Wedding Awards.

Thank you to each and every couple who not only entrusted me with their wedding ceremony but took the time to vote.
It means the world to me.

No celebrant does this job for awards and trophies, we do it because we love it.
However, it's lovely recognition from an industry I'm very passionate about and proud to be part of.

Congratulations to all the brilliant finalists and winners.

Finalists did incredibly well this year to make it through with 15,492 votes and 2,549 individual companies nominated.

Here's to an amazing summer wedding season πŸ’›

Well, this made me smile, Angela and Alex said, "Yes" to me as their celebrant.

This gorgeous couple live in America.
So, thanks to the power of technology we had a great video call to ensure I was the right celebrant for them.

They are flying back to the UK for their wedding celebration day and just look at their venue....
The beautiful Knott End Golf Club.

I can't wait to get to know them better and start creating their perfect ceremony.

Today I made two new friends.
Vivien and Bree πŸ•πŸ•

They both have very important roles in their humans wedding day.

Vivien is going to be ring bearer, and Bree is going to be a beautiful flower girl.

They are both absolutely gorgeous and I'm so excited that they are going to be part of Alison and Connor's wedding ceremony because after all, they are family.

With a celebrant led wedding ceremony, every ceremony is written just for the couple.
This means we can include anything and anyone.
We make the rules to ensure it's your ceremony done your way!

I'm four days late in kicking off the celebrations for Pride Month πŸŽ‰πŸ³β€πŸŒˆ
I hold Half Term solely responsible.

I'm a huge advocate of love.
Which means I'm a huge advocate of "Love is love" πŸ’ž

I've had the privilege over the years of working with lots of people from the LGBTQ community who have taught me so much.
So, it feels only right that this month I flood my social media to celebrate Pride Month and show my support.

Over the years, I've seen lots of beautiful animals and birds at weddings.
From dogs, cats, donkeys, a tortoise, an owl, the list goes on, but I've never seen a llama groomsman 🀣

"To us family means putting your arms around each other and being there".

This photo captures the essence of Kelly and Ryan's wedding day.
Their family was the most important part of their ceremony and captured it beautifully.

Yesterday was Oscar's Naming ceremony and 1st birthday double celebration.

I first met his Mummy and Daddy at a wedding fayre back in 2019.
I had the honour of officiating their wedding and then got to see their story continue when they welcomed baby Oscar πŸ’™

His Naming ceremony was beautiful.
Oscar's Mummy, Daddy, Guide parents and Grandparents made their personal promises to him.

We included a Sand Ceremony and the lighting of a Unity Candle.

Oscar's loves Dinosaurs πŸ¦•Β  So that set the theme for his very special day.

Happy 1st birthday sweetheart.
To be part of your very special day made my heart happy.

If you'd like more details about a Naming ceremony for your little one, drop me a message.

Wedding inspiration πŸ’›

With the days getting warmer and the sky a gorgeous blue as we head into summer, outdoor weddings became a beautiful reality.

Danielle and Steve held their wedding at the beautiful Duddon Mill Farm
It was outdoor wedding perfection.

The vibe was fun, intimate and laid back.
The decor was on point!
And the wedding tambourines for the Sing Along during their ceremony were a huge hit.

Did you spot their twist on a guest book?
They invited all their guests to sign a guitar.

Danielle and Steve turned their dream wedding day into a reality.

So go on.....
Plan your wedding, your way.
The only limitation is your imagination.
And don't worry, I'll take care of your perfect wedding ceremony πŸ˜‰

Happy 3rd wedding anniversary to one of the most amazing couples I know.
They truly are the perfect match πŸ’ž

I feel incredibly grateful to now call Danielle and Luigi my friends.
To be able to see the next chapters of their story unfold has been magical.

Only last week I nipped round for a coffee and a catch up with them and got to spend time with their beautiful daughter.

Danielle and Luigi, here's to you and the many more chapters of your love story to be written.

Sidenote: How did three years fly by sooooo fast?

So, you may have heard about the brilliant Elmer's Big Parade Blackpool 🐘 in aid of Brian House Children's Hospice

Mum sponsored the Pebble Elmer in memory of my Dad, my sister and my Grandad & Grandma Evans.

I looked and couldn't see their names.
Mum looked and couldn't see their names πŸ™ˆ
Yesterday, Mum was shown exactly where they are.

Seeing their names on the elephant gives us both so much joy.
There's not a day we don't talk about one of them.
And seeing their names proudly written on Elmer helps us continue their legacy.

Together, we did it.
I’ve made it through to the finals in the 'Best Celebrant' category of the North West Wedding Awards 2024.

Thank you to each and every couple who entrusted me with their wedding ceremony and then took the time to vote.
I'm so grateful.

Congratulations to all the amazing wedding celebrants and wedding suppliers who've made the finals too.
Being part of a couples' incredibly special day is something we never take for granted. It's always such an honour.

Good luck everyone xx

Kelly and Ryan's Wedding Blessing

Well, the weather gods were looking down on us as the weather was perfect.

Kelly and Ryan's ceremony was beautifully intimate, celebrating their marriage and love for each other and their family.

With their two children and Ryan's parents as guests, it was perfect in every way.

They exchanged personally written surprise weddings vows.
Their children were ring bearers, and then they did an amazing job reading a poem together.

Kelly and Ryan showed us you don't have to have a venue and all the bells and whistles to have your dream wedding ceremony.

This is your ceremony, so let's do it your way!
Here's to all the unique and personal places you choose for your very special day.

Ruthmary and David said "Yes" to me being their celebrant.

I had the most lovely meeting them. They shared their plans for their wedding day, and you just know I asked what their love story was.

Well, let me tell you, it's a great love story.
They have been friends for 25 years.
They had a business together, went on lots of camping trips and walks, but always just as really good friends.

Then, in 2021, they suddenly realised the love of their life had been right in front of them the entire time.

They are the cutest couple, and you can just feel the love between them.

Their venue has been a place I've visited a lot of the years but never for a wedding.
So, I'm super excited to officiate my first wedding at the iconic Mount in Fleetwood.

2025, you just keep getting better and better.

This morning we came together to celebrate the wonderful life of Alison.

Alison was a great woman; her personality was full of sunshine. She was funny, caring, and thoughtful.
She had a witty sense of humour and was great company to be around.
Alison had a love for dogs, especially her own. She was loved by everyone that met her.

Alison will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
When you look up to the stars, she will be the brightest star in sky.

As always, it was a pleasure to work alongside J T Byrne Funeral Directors who always give such professionalism, care and compassion to their families.

The twirl πŸ’ž

Beth walked down the aisle on the arm of her Dad.
When they reached the top, he twirled Beth.
It was such a special moment. My heart literally melted.

Following Beth and Di's ceremony, we headed into the woods for photos.

Beth and Di were walking, and then......
Di twirled Beth.
You know my eyes got all watery.
And the fantastic .photography caught the moment.

This is your reminder to twirl the person you love today.

Pencil us in βœοΈπŸ’ž

Lots of couples are getting in touch about their 2025 wedding.
It's a bit early to send out invations, but you want your guests to save the date.

How cute are these pencil save the dates?
I love them.

The card can go on the fridge, in your diary, where ever keep your important life stuff and the little pencil will be so handy for those times you can't find the hundred pens you have but can't be found!!

Bex and Iain's wedding will be my first ever Valentine's day wedding πŸ’ž

You just know I let out a little squeal when they said, 'Yes' to me being their celebrant.

Their wedding venue is one of my favourite local venues, Pavilion on the Prom

I can not wait to start writing their ceremony and learn alllll about this fantastic couple.
It's going to be ceremony full of love and family. And it wouldn't be a celebrant led ceremony without a few surprises!

2025, you are shaping up to be an epic year.

Do you know what my favourite part of my job is? ........
People.

I've loved people from being a little girl.
My Dad and sister both passed away before I was born. So, unexpectedly I was an only child and solely raised by my Mum.
And so my love of people began.

You could take me anywhere when I was young. Holidays abroad, the park, just walking down the street and I'd chat to strangers.

I had no 'stranger danger'. Strangers were quite simply people I wasn't friends with yet. Yes, a small miracle I wasn't kidnapped, but as Mum always says, "There's more good people in the world than bad".
I quickly learnt, everyone has a story and I loved listening to their stories.

Then working on a cruise ship for ten years meant I crossed paths with strangers on a weekly basis.
And guess what?
They all had a story.
Stories of challenges, success, loss, triumphs, struggles, friendship and love.

Being a celebrant I now get to work with people from here, there and everywhere.
I listen to birth stories, love stories and life stories and do you know what the one reoccuring thing is in all of those stories?
People.

People they unexpectedly met, people that gave them an opportunity and people who changed their life.

So yes, the spectacular venues, amazing decor and beautiful views are a fabulous part of my job.
But my favourite part will always be people.

This afternoon we gathered at Lytham Park Crematorium to celebrate Harry's life.

Harry had a lifetime of working in the Hotel and Catering Industry.
He worked at prestigious hotels such as The Midland in Manchester, The Gleneagles and then the Clifton Arms in Lytham.

He would say, "Your eyes are a camera" as he hosted Princess Anne, Princess Alexandra, stars of stage and screen and professional golfers.

He was so passionate about what he did and set up training opportunities for students from the Catering College and began a Europe exchange programme.

Harry had a cheeky smile and a twinkle in his eye.
He loved a practical joke.

Harry was an extremely proud Dad and Grandad.

He used to say, "A smile cost's nothing".
So, to close his service with 'Pack Up Your Troubles' and see everyone smile felt perfectly fitting.

Harry, you will be missed beyond measure, but your legacy will leave on through your beautiful family and friends and the hundreds of students whose lives you touched.

Luke and Laura said 'Yes' to me being their wedding celebrant.

This amazing couple who have been together for nine years, only set their wedding date two weeks ago!
They're known for getting an idea and running with it.

In that time they've booked the beautiful Armathwaite Hall for their venue, locked in all their wedding suppliers, Laura's said Yes To The Dress at The Ivory Dressing Room
and we've had our ceremony planning meeting.
There's literally no stopping them!!

I can not wait for their wedding day.
Their ceremony is full of surprises for each other and their guests and one very special wedding dog, Max πŸ•

The 6th of July can't come quick enough.
This is going to be a ceremony to remember πŸ’ž

Eunice was described as marvellous in every way.

She was born and bred in Blackpool and then worked as a Theatre Assistant at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital for 33 years.

Eunice was an incredibly proud Mum and Nan.

She was always happy and such great company.
Eunice was so funny and had such dry sense of humour. She had the ability to find humour in any situation.

She loved to dance, so when it came to choosing the final piece of music to close Eunice's service only one song seemed perfectly fitting....
Dancing Queen by ABBA.

The absence of Eunice in this world will be felt by all who loved her.

Being a self-employed independent celebrant, I definitely have weeks when self-doubt creeps in.
From couples ghosting me after an enquiry to bookings being slower, I start to doubt myself.

And then, something happens that reminds me of my 'why'.

I received a call from a funeral director asking if I could officiate a service.
I called the daughter of the gentleman who had passed away to arrange a meeting.
She told me her Dad watched a funeral service via video link two years ago that I officiated for a family member and he made it known he didn't want a church service, he wanted me to officiate his funeral when that day came.

It was my honour to officiate this gentleman's celebration of life and to carry out his wishes.

This is why I became a celebrant.
To write and deliver meaningful, personal, and memorable ceremonies for every life celebration.
