I never really appreciated what hard work and care went into my glass of wine. This is how the grapes are protected from the frost. Candles are lit through out the vineyard. Some of these vines are 90 years old and still produce grapes. Each vine is hand pruned to strengthen the growth. I also learned that in France it is illegal to irrigate the vines. This makes each vintage unique as the conditions are never the same each year. Things I never knew!

Sometimes you just have to go in the opposite direction to the crowd and you may find your happy place. We did . Fish from the sea and vegetables grown in the tavernas own garden. Not many miles on these delicious ingredients. 🇬🇷
