We're now mid-wedding season and taking a moment to celebrate this season opener. Such a beautiful wedding for C&E back in April at the fabulous .weddings.

Blue and white was the scheme of the day for the dinner and dessert plates, along with our cutlery, sparkling glassware, silver candlestick collection, linen runners and of course the linen napkins for swinging.

The spring sunshine beamed for the special day, what a way to kickstart this fabulous season.

It was lovely getting the afternoon tea classics out last week for a visit from a couple having a truly sustainable wedding. They're exclusively using independent suppliers from the local area with a focus on reuse, recycle and reclaim. What a wonderful way to do it. 💚

And that's a wrap on 2023!

Today was a hands-in-the-sink day, ploughing through plates, cutlery and glasses from yesterday's Big Bash. A fitting end to another year of fabulous celebrations.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported FMNV this year. From clients to kind friends and suppliers... supporting, sharing and recommending. It's hugely appreciated and allows me keep doing what I love, making really special tables. ☺

Now it's feet up, glass filled and special time with some of my very bestest.

It's been a busy few days since Christmas... picking, polishing and packing for the last event of the year, a Twixmas wedding today. A chance for the winter colours to shine by candlelight. 🍴🌿❄🔥

Of all the tables laid throughout the year, the Christmas table will always be my absolute favourite. The foliage, the twinkling candles, silver with cut glass, a treat on a plate to welcome guests before the feast arrives. Special days deserve special tables.

Now we're engulfed in winter it's a treat looking back at the golden autumnal gorgeousness of this styled shoot from October. We lucked out with an afternoon of hazy late autumn sunshine.

We kept the brief loose, just bring your best bits of autumn and the result was this little bit of magic.

A sumptuous tablescape, rich in colour from flowers to tableware, sitting pretty against natural wood and linen with a sparkle of cut glass and silver candlesticks.

One man's rubbish certainly is another's treasure.

This almost complete tea service was rescued from the recycling centre by a kind neighbour. A beautiful antique set that will be used as pretty trios and upcycled into tiered cakestands for the busy season ahead.

2022, what a year. Our 13th year of Forget-me-not Vintage and the busiest EVER.

The collection has grown, we've travelled the country and visited so many gorgeous new venues.

I will never tire of seeing the wonderful creativity of my clever clients and fellow suppliers. A year packed full of such beautiful events, where the tableware shines bright. It's been a pleasure to be a part of them.

Thank you to every single person who supported FMNV in 2022... can't wait to see what 2023 brings.

🍊 Cranberry & Orange compote 🍊

The word "compote" is French for "mixture". Originating in 17th century France, compote recipes called for whole or pieces of mixed fruit in sugar syrup, unlike jam where the fruit is broken down.

I made a batch for Christmas gifting this year with big, bright cranberry jewels. It's divine dolloped on your twixtmas turkey or ham. 😋

🍃 CHRISTMAS DOOR SWAG 🍃

With a team of wonderful helpers, we made over 60 wreaths to raise funds for our lovely primary school this year. So when it came to dressing the door of FMNV HQ I fancied something a little different...

Behold the festive swag! Much quicker to construct than a wreath and you can use all those lovely, long droopy bits from the garden that flop in a wreath.

This weekend's intimate gathering will be dining from 'country' with starter plates, dinner plates and tea plates in deep, rich, earthy tones reflecting the stunning colours of the Dorset countryside at this time of year.

After many busy months of picking, polishing, packing and washing china, glassware and cutlery, it was lovely to do some flowering this week...

After providing Pashley the vintage bicycle and an autumn basket bouquet for the fabulous The Rhubarb Candle Company shop opening a year ago, it was an absolute pleasure to be invited back for their first 'shop birthday' celebration!

The arrangement was foam-free, in keeping with RCC's exemplary environmentally-kind ethos and bursting full of autumn colour, with foraged foliage, grasses and berries from the woods and garden.

Their Poundbury shop is well worth a visit, a scent-sory feast with a dazzling array of hand-poured scented eco soy candles. I stocked up on the most gorgeous Christmas scented candles last year, for special gifts. Mail order also available, take a look.

What a season it has been, our busiest ever in twelve years... and summer is not yet done with us, not yet ready to make way for autumn. There's still warmth in the days, yet the trees are letting go. The colours turning and the hedgerows are full of berries and autumn's treats.

So begins the wind down into autumn as the last few orders are packed and prepped. Flower foraging this week, and there is so much to choose from at this beautiful time of year.

Our vintage napkin collection is filled with beauties like these.. monogrammed, embroidered, stitched with love. I often ponder the history behind them... and if you have a guest you can match the initials to, how perfect!
