When Laura contacted me I was so excited to hear of her parents plans! Time was not on our side but we pulled it off… a surprise wedding celebration ceremony with all their family and friends thinking they were there for a birthday party. It was a beautiful evening ceremony and one I will always remember!

I'd like to tell you the story behind this image...

Anyone that knows me well will know that Jane Eyre is my favourite novel. I adore it and if you haven't read it, please do give it a go.

In the story, there is a chestnut tree. It is the tree Jane and Mr Rochester confess their love under. It is then split in two by lightening but remains deeply rooted as one... and there the story continues, a beautiful story of strength, endurance and love.

I took my copy of Jane Eyre to Horwood house where this image was taken... Little did I know that once there, I would firstly find a room called "The Eyre Suite" and secondly, I would come across this tree, struck by lightening but still actually joined firmly at the roots. There was no way I was going to miss the opportunity for this tree and my book to be in one of the photos I had taken. | also knew I wanted to share the story with you and a couple of my friends who I knew would love to hear about it.

My work each day is all about listening to others and then writing and telling stories, the very special kind... the real, authentic kind.

I tell stories of love, of new beginnings, of amazing lives, of adventures, of loss and of relationships.

Each story I tell is unique.

Through my ceremonies, I capture the essence of love, connection, and the moments that matter most to you.

Today I’ve had a little breathing space, a moment to reflect and to remember all the people who have crossed my path in 2024.

Remembering those people who have touched my heart, some forever. Those who have changed the way I view the world and how I live my life.

I never take my work for granted. I appreciate the impact I have both on couples planning their wedding and families planning their loved one’s final farewell. I know how important the way I work and support them is in making their experience as positive as it can be.

I’ve entered 2025 supporting ten families. All have had the most heartbreaking of Christmas and New years.

I also woke yesterday to a flurry of enquiries from newly engaged couples.

My work is so varied, such a contrast of emotions at times but everything I do is centered around LOVE ❤️

Whenever you need to work with me, wherever you are in your life… just know I LOVE and value my work and there’s not one day where I don’t appreciate being let in to your world and trusted with you or your loved ones story ❤️

Christmas seems to have whizzed by in a blur and this week has been straight back to work and incredibly busy.
A quick post from me as I now take a little break until the 2nd to see the new year in with the family. Sending love to everyone I’ve worked with in 2024, offering my love and support to the families currently working with me and raising a glass to all the couples marrying in 2025 (oh yeah, that includes me!) #2025

As the 25th approaches, I hope you are all managing to prepare for Christmas however you have decided to spend it. Whether you will be celebrating, reflecting, remembering someone special or just cuddling up under a blanket treating it like any other day, I send you my love. I’m still working through til Monday and then just after Christmas with my final service of the year on the 27th. It’s been a busy year! My blog post sharing my words for this years memorial at Bierton will be shared this weekend xx

On a course to train as celebrants these two beauties entered my life… I cannot imagine a minute without them now. Today we had our annual Christmas trip to the Cotswolds. ❤️

Today was a special and beautiful service where we said “sayonara” to the vibrant and eccentric “K” - I learnt so much during my time spent researching elements to include and discuss in today’s service and the piece of music chosen was so moving - do listen to “always with me” by yumi kimura if you get a moment ❤️

Holding the Light - today I joined other local celebrants, the staff from Bierton crematorium and many local families, at a remembrance service. We sang, we lit candles, we placed messages of love on the tree and we spoke of traditions, taking time to reflect, grief and love.
The words I wrote to share today, will be posted as my Christmas blog post in a few days time.
It was lovely to catch up with a few families I’ve worked with and I hope everyone enjoys making my grandads rock cakes ❤️

Chapter 4 : Informing and educating

Something I’m incredibly proud of is the role I take in informing and educating others about their options around funerals and memorials.

Only last week I sat with a lady to help her put her funeral wishes together and I’m often contacted by people asking for information.

Last year I was invited to a video shoot with which gave me another opportunity to let others know about my role and their choices.

My work with “F word” and the “not if but when podcast” continue, with more being planned in the background.

I’m always here to answer your questions.
