Following our post last week regarding the charity walk from Tynemouth to Blyth Masonic Buildings, we are delighted to inform you that the efforts of those intrepid walkers raised the magnificent total of £2128 for various charities as follows....
Teddies For Loving Care - £650
Blyth Food Bank - £585
Bright Red - £330
Seb & Olivia's Den - £228
Blyth Masonic Building Charity Fund - £200
Samaritans - £135
A truly brilliant achievement by all involved and a very big thank you goes to all the generous sponsors. It is heartwarming to know that even in these difficult times people are still able to think of those less fortunate 👏👏👏 All monies donated will make a difference to many peoples lives ♥️

Congratulations to all the Brethren of the Blyth Masonic Building and their families who took part in a charity walk yesterday from Tynemouth to Blyth to raise money for various charities. This was organised by Bro Steve Butler and the Brethren of Cowpen Lodge No 4824. The intrepid walkers spanned the generations with some doing the full 10 miles and others joining in at staging points along the way.

On arrival at Blyth Masonic Buildings the walkers were able to relax with a few drinks before lunch and the children in attendance had a safe space set aside in which to play and amuse themselves with the various toys and games provided.

Following lunch there was a raffle for items generously donated by Brethren, friends and families and after this a fun game of stand up bingo.

Some of the charities being supported were Teddies for Loving Care, Samaritans of Northumbria, Bright Red Charity, Masonic Charitable Foundation, MS, Seb & Olivia’s Den, and Blyth Foodbank We will post more in due course with the total amount raised. Congratulations again to everyone involved for their fantastic fundraising efforts.

Not long to go now folks. It is forecast to be a reasonably decent day for a good old stroll along the coast 👍 If you've not yet made your arrangements or booked your dining please get in touch with Steve, Ian or Nigel. If you are not doing the walk and don't wish to dine feel free to pop in anyway, have a drink, and join in the other activities. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 😀

Pick your starting point and walk a few miles in aid of charity then once you've had lunch there will be a chance to relax and participate in some fun activities to round off the afternoon. Blyth Masonic Building will be open from 1:30pm so if you cannot make the charity walk feel free to come along for lunch (pre-ordered ticket required) or just have a few drinks and join in the fun. Everyone will be made most welcome. Contact Steve Butler 07764 576064 or Ian Swanson 07450 080740 for more information or to book lunch tickets.

Does anyone know the collective noun for amateur detectives? Here are some pictures from a very successful Murder Mystery night held in the building with a packed room of would be Poirots, Morses and Marples trying to figure out "whodunnit". In addition to the sleuthing a great sum of money was raised for charity. The culprit was found but received a lenient sentence 🤣 If you are looking for a venue for a "something different" kind of event please get in touch. We'll be happy to show you round and see how we can assist you.
