Here are all the details for next Saturday 7th September's FREE Gorsedh at Callington Community College.
Stalls will open from 11am - 5pm, including Agan Tavas, Kowethas An Yeth, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Lowender, Federation of Old Cornwall Societies, Cornwall Heritage Trust, Kings Orchard Honey, Cornwall Pride, Cats Protection Launceston & District branch, The Hum from the Hill, Recycling for charity. and The Mustard Seed. Food and drink will be available from hatch's jackets and Lost Surfers Cocktail Cafe Ales & Tales.
Entertainment begins at 11am, with Callington Town Band, Cornwall Youth Choirs, Kelliwik Golowi Band Page and Cornish Wrestling.
The procession of nearly 200 bards begins at 1:40pm, with the Gorsedh Kernow ceremony beginning at 2pm. Led by the Grand Bard of Cornwall, Pol Hodge, Mab Stenak Veur, with Eleanor Valdebouze as the Lady of Cornwall. In the main hall if wet. This colourful annual ceremony includes a parade of banners by the Old Cornwall Societies from across Cornwall, the initiation of new bards into the Gorsedh, and is also attended by representatives from the Welsh and Breton Gorsedhow. A bilingual programme is available and the ceremony will also be live-streamed, with a link available on the Gorsedh Kernow website. All welcome.
Parking is in the town, with a minibus service up to the college and back from New Road (B&M) and Saltash Road car parks.
