I’ve been working with BOLSOVER UK, as a Place Champion, which is a programme all about the distinctiveness, character of Bolsover, highlighting what makes it special and the opportunities that exist here.

I’ve always felt very strongly that a florist has unique potential in its position. We become entangled in people’s life events and therefore see many raw moments that most businesses wouldn’t necessarily get to see. It’s an incredibly personal service and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

Bolsover has given me an unbelievably warm welcome so far and the future feels very bright.

From the interview: Kirsty tell us...

"We opened the doors in September 2024, a week later, we competed in the UK Florist of the Year Live Final, and placed first. After months of training, planning and preparation we walked away with a national title which has given us an incredible boost as we launch BLÜM to the people of Bolsover. I've invested everything into BLÜM, the aim being to become a staple in the town the continues to serve the community for years to come.

I'm currently working with other local businesses to see how their shop front could benefit from a floral 'facelift' bringing the highstreet to life, adding some more colour to the town.

I've worked in lots of flower shops across Sheffield, Chesterfield and further afield, but Bolsover has a real charm, the friendliness of the people mean I love going to work everyday, and I know I'm in good hands as long as I continue serve Bolsover..."
