So that’s a wrap! 2024 is almost over for me ..the month of December goes by in a blur … it’s been especially hard this year due to personal issues but the door wreaths are hung, the table centrepieces are in place, gift flowers have all been delivered , so many funerals done … too many 😔 and another Robin made which winged it’s way to Liverpool as a special tribute … Thankyou for the incredible support in ordering with me this year …I am now closed ( apart from two funerals booked in by prior arrangement) till the 6th January … any orders for after this date can be prebooked by message.
Thankyou to the special friends who have checked in on me and kept me going… not enough words … you know who you are ❤️

How is it Sunday again already! No time for taking pics this week.. just head down to get through my workload. I am now at full capacity and cannot take any more orders … which is amazing and Thankyou .. but please don’t be offended if I have to say “ no”…there are not enough hours in the week at the moment ..Thankyou and as always my thoughts are with the many families I have done funeral work for this week 🙏🏻💜

It’s been another week of bespoke requests .. a beloved family dog , initials for a treasured grandad.. personal heart message.. I will always do my best to accommodate requests ..each piece made personal .. as it should be …
Still catching up on the door wreaths , working very hard long hours to get them out .. if you are waiting , I will be with you as soon as I can but funerals have to take precedence .. Thankyou for the orders, recommendations and support .. much appreciated .

A few pieces from the last week or so.. mainly funeral work and my thoughts as always are with the many families I have dealt with over the last two weeks 💜 Christmas is rapidly gaining on us and I’m knee deep in wreath work .. unable to take any more door wreath orders at the moment until I’ve caught up , will keep updating 🙏🏻

On my flowery travels this week I did some pedestal arrangements in St David’s church at Haigh.. driven past many times but never actually been in … a beautiful space to work in and though the flowers look like they are levitating they are on my clear acrylic plinths so none of the beautiful stone work is covered up.. too many sad occasions this week ( and next) .. and working a treasured star wars helmet into a bed of flowers for the son of a local family was particularly emotional …my thoughts are with them 🙏🏻
A few happier occasions to end the week on and the installation of the Christmas window at ArmCandi in Westhoughton ready for their upcoming Christmas shopping night on the 14th November .. put it in your diaries ladies as it’s sure to be a busy fun packed evening ..

The last wedding of this year was last weekend for Georgia and Leighton at The Astley Bank Hotel, Restaurant & Conference Centre- Darwen, a lovely little venue tucked away on the side of a hill amongst mature trees and lovely gardens....although I’ve been many times I am always blown away as I drive up to the front . Again soft and muted tones of late autumn were the choice of colour , with the stunning Barista rose ( terracotta one) a perfect match to the bridesmaid dress colour.. congratulations to you both and Thankyou for choosing me to do your flowers 💛

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of creating the flowers for Abigail and Anthony’s wedding at the fabulous Stock Farm Barn in Ashley… gorgeous muted autumn shades , copper to blend perfectly with the teal dresses .. flickering candlelight , floral towers to enhance the ceremony area ..a truly magical day … Thankyou so much for letting me play a part in it and congratulations to you both 💛now a nod to your other fabulous suppliers ..

I’m a week behind with posting but I was asked to make a treble clef by my lovely friend who sadly lost her husband and best friend due to chronic illness …a lovely man with a huge smile for everyone .. god bless David and love and thoughts to Tracey, Joanne, Emma and all the family ..
A mix of occasions this week , birthdays, Thankyou, anniversaries ( both happy and sad ones) ,I certainly feel so many emotions in one week 😊
The latter part of the week was spent working on a special wedding .. looking forward to seeing and sharing photos from that next week ..

So last week I mentioned about getting a call to work on a very special wedding which required finding a team of 4 florists plus myself as lead florist ( how posh does that sound 😂)
Where do I start … 10,000 roses plus 4,000 spray roses and foliages.. 950 guests, helicopter entrance for the bride and groom , four pairs of matching grey horses and carriages to es**rt guests to the main door, the British Imperial marching band, opera singer, violinist , orchestra, ice sculptures, fruit sculptures , toastmaster, super cars , fireworks , a guest appearance from Asian pop idol Imran Khan ( I did think he was a cricketer but it’s a different one) oh and approximately 90 plus arrangements made by the team and myself over 4 days … we had a chef, unlimited beverages, chocolates and the most amazing penthouse suite with elevator to the venue room .. utterly amazing and wonderful people to work for .. a mix of professional and my own photos .. congratulations to Savban and Sanaa on the celebration of their marriage . It was a wonderful experience from start to finish 🌹

A few pieces from the beginning of the week , all sad occasions but so privileged to be asked to make them .. my thoughts were with two particular families on Thursday as they said each said goodbye to their beloved Dad 🙏🏻
I also managed to secure an amazing job which I have been working flat out on for four days including today .. with a selected team of four other florists that amazingly all had the time free to be able to come and help.. almost as if it was meant to be… it involves ten thousand roses which is just mind boggling and I’m still pinching myself that I got the phone call … I can’t share details yet but there may be photos to come next week🙏🏻

So this week was the wedding of my beautiful friend Jane to her lovely husband Mark at Holland Hall.. their smiles say it all and belie the problems beforehand , a change of venue (due to it housing migrants )and losing their deposit …. Cake problems, health problems , both so poorly leading up to the day of the wedding , a power cut on the morning of the wedding at the venue … but nothing was stopping this ceremony and I was overjoyed to see them finally get their special day , Thankyou for letting me be a part of your journey and day and choosing me to do your flowers.. congratulations Mr and Mrs Oakley 💜

One thing about autumn is the availability of grasses.. a fabulous addition to bouquets with there feathery, fluffy fronds .. I used fresh cortaderia and pennisetum white ..two favourites of mine 🌿🌾
A beautiful coffin spray with the last of the summer colours and the most stunning big headed rose called “ secret garden”.. so secret I’ve not been able to source it since !

This week has been a week of all occasions … a sweet little wedding for Becky who found me via shareson social media.. so Thankyou all 🙏🏻 her bouquet had a very special rose , called “ princess Myuki”.. the smell is incredible , all brides should have a memory of scent from their bouquet 💜 there have been engagement flowers, Thankyou flowers … flowers for a 100th birthday .. with Edna looking forward to her party with family on Sunday .. amazing lady ..
Some hydrangeas with heads the size of a beach ball .. these were huge 😊( also very expensive but worth it for the impact )
And last but not least … flowers for the lovely man that was a true historian , music maestro, friend to so many … I never expected to be making flowers in this way for him but glad I managed to source some incurve blooms for him as I know they were one of his favourites .. God Bless Martin.. you were a true gentleman .. I will think of you when the peonies bloom 🙏🏻

Thanks to everyone who ordered with me this week… I didn’t do a flower ramble last week due to personal issues and whilst things are still difficult I find peace in the beauty of flowers and solace in my work … a lovely email from a customer in South Africa .. a returning customer so that was nice .. please carry on passing my name on for any occasions coming up .. word of mouth really helps 🙏🏻

The wedding of Natasha and Ben held at the wonderful quirky The Wellbeing Farm Wedding and Events Venue on Thursday , the day started wet and grey but I promised Natasha that it never rains on a bride 🫣 luckily it did stop in time 🙏🏻a beautiful big bouquet of white cloud roses, berries, spray roses, scented phlox and fabulous ferns with mimosa Denis Boden foliages .. the four bridesmaids carried smaller posies of the same with floaty chiffon trails to complement their sage green dresses. Some fabulous suppliers too.. perfect day

Embracing the rich colours that take us into autumn with some bright and beautiful pieces…a golden wedding arrangement that gave me an excuse to get creative with 24k gold flower paint 💛 that usually doesn’t come out till Christmas ..( soon be here )
Still quiet so any recommendations would be appreciated ..I can’t offer free delivery, ( my fuel certainly isn’t free) or raffle flowers off, or sell for almost cost price … my prices have to reflect the quality of flowers , the cost of running a fully commercial delivery van , my liability insurance which covers me for wedding venues, funeral directors and stepping on to peoples properties, ( I would not be allowed to work without this) my sundries, business registration, tax, insurance , endless time spent buying , trips to the wholesale flower markets and working out stem counts .. my utility bills and I have to put food on the table as this is my livelihood ..
I am so appreciative of all my wonderful customers and will always go the extra mile to give the best service that I can and am grateful to all who have continued to support
my business in what can only be described as challenging times 🙏🏻
