Sorry for the silence so far this year. We've been busy restocking, planning and we're hoping to bring you something new soon...
Sorry for the silence last week. We've been very busy, making, printing, folding, sticking, packing and most importantly, partying!! ๐๐
Packaging- No plastic here!
Since coming up with our bird-feeder idea, the design has been tweaked a couple of times to get it to a point where we can keep it all together, yet have as less waste as possible.
There are 5 elements to our bird-feeder kit:-
๐ฆ Instructions Card
๐ฆPinecone
๐ฆ Peanut butter
๐ฆWild bird seed mix
๐ฆTwine
I wanted to make sure everything was kept together, as one unit, rather than the kids looking into their party packs and picking out a random pinecone or jar of nut butter! But, I didn't want to add extra package bags or boxes...
So, using the twine, instructions card, a single hole-punch and some creative threading, here you have it! Our bird-feeder kit (that I wrap in tissue paper for gifts) without any glue, tape or plastic required.
Make the bird-feeder, reuse the mini jar for all kinds of purposes and pop the instructions card and seed envelope in the paper recycling! โป๏ธ
We made a Bug Hotel!๐ (Sorry we couldn't share with the background music like on Insta)
My 4 year old had a blast on Monday making his very own bug hotel. Mummy was his cutting-out assistant and scavenger hunt guide and he loved mixing the glue and creating his hotel scene with the seed paper!
We'll be out inspecting the residents with his magnifying glass later. Then in a couple of weeks, the next activity will be planting the seed paper and watching it grow ๐ฑ
An activity that just keeps on giving to nature ๐

And here's the step-by-step video for the sock bunnies
Coming soon in your activity packs...
Yep, once the kids are back at school and chief crayon maker (Vic) is back in the lab, we'll be swapping out the mass-produced paraffin wax crayons for hand-made soy wax cuties. A much better fit for our plastic-free activity packs!
