Well kicked off the 1st disco of the year yesterday at Dalkeith Rugby Football Club Official they sure know how to party. Didn’t get any pictures or videos of myself with the crowd as I was too busy getting the music and mixing on point. So last night was my first Xmas party where just for once I wasn’t behind the decks. Great night with friends Hydro Xmas party. Never took any photos. Too busy enjoying the company, the banter and the dancing. Same again next weekend. Could get used to this !!! from now on I will be taking December off. City Disco's Dj Billy Dempsey😂😂🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Last gig of the year for City Discos tonight. It was my choice to take December off, from January 1st right through to November I am more or less DJing most weekends wither it’s a couples Wedding, Engagment or Birthday party’s. I give my all to everybody’s function during the year, so this year December is my “me time”with Family & Friends”. I don’t get out to socialise during the year much so I’m gonna make the most of it this December. This is not a poor me post, it’s my choice. I choose to make everybody’s party a great night and tonights 21st Miners Club is no exception. Hoping the dance floor is busy all night. Let’s go out with a bang for 2023. 🎧🎤💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺🙌🙌🙌🙌

Wow !!! just in the door from Laurie Heriot’s 40th party Mayfield Community Club tonight was asked to play 80’s classics from 8-9pm then at the restart of the second half I did a 30 min mix of Ibiza classics mixed in with some house tracks that are in the charts at the mo and then your normal party anthems. But because the hall was half full of all the park punters she wanted me to take them back to when they just started going out to Dalkieth for the last 40 mins. All the bangers from years gonna by. Special remixes and also managed to squeeze in an old time classic that she used to ask me to play 20 odd year ago. Divine Inspiration - The Way

What you get when booking City Discos. Too many people these days think we djs just turn up and press play. Or that you can still book a Dj for £120. Think again !!! Leave nothing to chance, it could ruin somebody’s day/night. I always carry spare light, speaker, and power cables because you just never know. ’s

Last night I was playing Estate for the wedding of Mr & Mrs Martin. Wow !!! Stunning venue and what a crowd. I arrived to the singing waiters singing “Maggie May” with them doing a Congo train outside the building. This set the theme of the night so I knew I was in for a cracking night and boy they didn’t disappoint.

Not been on my Disco page for a wee while now so thought I would just give people an idea what the diary has been like. Phone has been going crazy this last week. People are getting super organised now with weddings and Engagment parties for the future. 2022 - 2023 & YES 2024 diary is open for bookings. Don’t laugh 🤷🏼‍♂️ 3 bookings alone since last Sunday for 2023 & 2 for 2024 and that’s on top of people wanting bookings for the rest of this year. You know what’s gonna happen ……… and I hate letting people down. A future bride phoned me Wednesday night this week asking for a date in may 2023 sadly for her I’m already booked. She couldn’t believe it - and she thought she was being one step ahead of everybody. I say this time and time again - If you have a date in mind for a special party then please don’t say to yourself “ I’ll get round to phoning Billy”. 🤦🏼‍♂️ please get in touch as soon as you know so that you don’t get let down 📲💻.

So way back in March I did think that this year would be a write off but just Saturday at the weekend just past I did my first official gig since Covid Closed everything down last March 2020. When doing the couples wedding it seemed really strange feeling because people were actually smiling and dancing (at their tables) really enjoying themselves and forgetting about what this last 18 months has been like.
People are now starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and having hope for the future.

If you or any of your friends are even thinking about having a Special Party soon Engagment or even a Wedding get in touch ASAP. Obviously people are still thinking about what restrictions they might have to adhere to but party season is just around the corner.

I’m hoping and praying that she lets people who have been trying to get married for the last 18 months finally have their big day.
Surely people who are getting married don’t need to have restrictions in place, if they can let 67k people into a stadium where no social distancing, no mask wearing, shouting, singing & dancing all around each other. We need common sense now. Not next month NOW !!! No medical advice, no politics just plain and simple common sense.

I’m sorry to say that its looking very unlikely that any gigs for myself (City Discos) will be going ahead In 2021 due to covid restrictions being in place. Even in tier 0 they are saying that no indoor gigs will be allowed to play music at the levels of 2 years ago. I know that back ground music will be allowed in pubs but carrying out parties/functions will be completely different ball game. The only saving grace for myself is that the diary is looking very busy for 2022 & 2023.
