Our team at BH Live Active, Littledown has been applauded by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) for their quick and professional response to emergencies 🧡

DSAA Team Appreciation letters are sent to individuals or teams whose actions, words or behaviours are recognised as being “exceptional” and “above and beyond” expectations.

The centre recently received a Team Appreciation certificate for their “rapid” and “outstanding” administration of CPR and defibrillation to a customer who experienced cardiac arrest at the centre. Emergency services quickly attended and the customer later made a full recovery.

We are so proud of our team for their response and dedication to customer safety 👏

Mums across Portsmouth are encouraged to come together to get active at weekly Mums & Tots Netball sessions hosted at Wimbledon Park Sports Centre 👏

Our sessions are run in partnership with Netball in the Community and are designed to be accessible to women of all ages, including those who are pregnant or have children, to create a welcoming environment for mums to stay active, connect with others, and have fun ✨

Since launching our Mums & Tots Netball sessions, we’ve provided an inclusive and welcoming space for mums, both during pregnancy and after childbirth, to engage in netball 🧡

In a bid to promote participation in cultural events and activities, we have joined forces with national coach holiday provider Alfa Travel to provide visitors with high-quality theatre breaks at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre ✨

Based in Lancashire, Alfa Travel currently has 24 hotels in their Leisureplex Hotel Collection including Norfolk Royale Hotel in Bournemouth. They've created exclusive theatre break packages to include Michael Starring Ben, The ELO Experience and Walk Like a Man, attracting more footfall to Bournemouth and the South Coast 👏

A recent Moving Communities study has shown that participation in public leisure centre activities saved the NHS nearly £400 million in 2023* 👏

The findings – analysed from 8.8 million leisure centre users across 818 sites – show that more than 28,000 costly health conditions were prevented, with older adults reaping the greatest benefits and providing the greatest return on investment for the NHS.

We hope that the outcomes of this survey encourage more individuals to discover the long-lasting benefits of staying active 🧡

We're encouraging more young people across Portsmouth to get summer-ready by learning to swim 🏊

With more than 200 swimming lesson spaces currently available at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre, we want more children to ‘dive in’ to the New Year and have a go at the sport.

All our Swimming Academy lessons are taught by qualified swimming teachers in line with Swim England ’s National Plan to develop participants’ confidence, techniques, and general skills in the water.
All ages and abilities are welcome!

We are celebrating the completion of another spellbinding panto run at Fairfield Halls with Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs 🍎

Produced by UK Productions Ltd , the show captivated thousands of people across its four-week run, bringing belly laughs, jaw-dropping moments, and thunderous applause from audiences of all ages 💙

From relaxed and captioned shows to dedicated school performances, we additionally offered over 1,100 concessionary tickets and 300 companion passes to encourage more visitors to enjoy the magic of live theatre ✨

Thanks to audience generosity, our teams collected more than £3,000 in donations to fund free tickets for some of Croydon's pupil premium students at this year’s panto performance – Beauty & the Beast 🌹👑

Entoyment Wargaming and Hobby Centre, located in Poole, has announced major expansions for its ninth annual Beachhead Tabletop Games Expo at Bournemouth International Centre 🎉

Taking place on 8-9 February 2025, the event is expected to bring exhibitors, market vendors, collectors, and attendees to the South Coast’s largest conferencing and exhibition venue for two days of engaging attractions, and roleplay fun 🎲🧙

Beachhead is just one line-up in Bournemouth International Centre’s busy 2025 exhibitor and cultural event programme. Other festivals and exhibitions to look forward to include Bournemouth Brick Festival and Bournemouth Comic-Con (Sunday 23 March 2025), and The South Coast Darts Showdown (Saturday 10 May 2025). It was a wonderful week packed with talent and energy, celebrating dancers from around the world ✨

It’s an honour to bring this festival to the BCP region year on year, providing a fantastic opportunity for people to come and watch some of the world’s top professional ballroom dancers 💃

Last Christmas, Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre shone brighter than ever, enchanting audiences with the unmissable Jack and the Beanstalk 🌱

Produced by UK Productions Ltd, the pantomime was a spellbinding blend of comedy, drama, and festive magic that captivated thousands during its spectacular four-week run 👏

Thanks to our concessionary scheme, nearly 3,000 people and an additional 500 essential companions were able to experience the show at a discounted rate.

More than 4,500 school pupils enjoyed a trip to the theatre, with a further 250 primary school pupils able to participate too thanks to audience contributions to BH Live’s Pavilion Outreach Fund ✨

A second artist has been selected to design one of our sponsored tail sculptures as part of Julia’s House ‘Great Tail Trail’ 💙

The Great Tail Trail will see more than 45 giant and 40 tiny tail sculptures located across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole in a FREE eight-week event between 5 April and 1 June 2025.

Selected from more than 40 designs, Kelly Ma’s community-inspired medium tail sculpture will be situated at BH Live Active, Pelhams when the trail launches this spring. As part of the event, visitors to the sculpture will be able to find out more about the leisure centre and its facilities.

Suitable for players who are able to serve, rally and score in basic format, the event is a great opportunity for young people aged 4-16 to develop their skills and familiarise themselves with a competitive environment in a fun and friendly way 🎉

Our talented instructors provided a day full of high energy and enthusiasm. Our visitors had an epic day!
