Our coaching team at Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre is encouraging participants of all ages across the city to stay active through structured gymnastics classes, pay-as-you-go sessions, holiday clubs, and much more 🤸

This year, the centre's adult squad celebrated a successful competition season at the British Adult Championships, earning 10 gold, 17 silver and 6 bronze national medals across tumbling, acrobatic, artistic and trampolining events 🥇🥈🥉

Some squad members started with little-to-no gymnastics experience, showing that it’s never too late to try a new sport 🧡

We are actively encouraging more carers’ in the region to improve their own health and wellbeing by visiting their local leisure centre 🧡

A recent report by Carers UK found that carers face many barriers preventing them from prioritising their health and wellbeing, including lack of time, lack of motivation, lack of funds, and lack of support.

As a social enterprise, one of our main social objectives is to encourage more people to participate in physical activity. This includes encouraging individuals to overcome social and financial barriers by offering free community events, a diverse range of health and wellbeing programmes, and concessionary activities 👏

We are proud to operate leisure centres that are paving the way in industry standards ✨

This year, BH Live Active, Stokewood, BH Live Active, Pelhams and BH Live Active, Littledown leisure centres in Bournemouth, and BH Live Active, Pyramids and Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth were all awarded 'Very Good' status by Sport England's trusted trade body, Right Directions, following rigorous assessment 🧡

The assessment, known as Quest, benchmarks cleanliness, how the centre is managed and its team’s performance against other operators in the sport and leisure industry. Assessors reward centres for their dedication to making fitness a clean, fun, and safe pastime.

Thanks to the continued passion and hard work of our teams, we’re making sure community leisure facilities continue to be fantastic places to work, play, learn and visit for better health and wellbeing 👏

Our team at Portsmouth Tennis Centre is changing lives across the city for the better, teaching more than 300 students every week and making tennis a more inclusive sport for all 🎾

By providing accessible tennis sessions, we are enabling more people to participate, changing perceptions around the sport and creating opportunities for all. More than 50 of our students have complex or additional needs including visual impairments, limited mobility, long-term health conditions and learning disabilities.

We are inspiring more young people to get active from an early age too. Through free open days, tennis roadshows, and coaching sessions delivered in line with LTA - Tennis For Britain framework, more children are being encouraged to have a go at the sport 🧡

An Arts University Bournemouth student has been selected to design one of our sponsored tail sculptures as part of Julia's House Children's Hospice 'Great Tail Trail' 🧜‍♀️👏

The Great Tail Trail will see more than 40 giant and 60 medium-sized mermaid tail sculptures located across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole in a FREE eight-week event between 5 April and 1 June 2025. We will accommodate multiple tails at our leisure centres and venues, including Bournemouth International Centre, BH Live Active, Littledown, and BH Live Active, Pelhams.

Beck O’Hara’s community-inspired large tail sculpture will take centre stage at BH Live Active, Littledown when the trail launches next spring 💙

People living with Parkinson’s in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas are being invited to try a new exercise and activity group which is set to help more people get active in a fun and social way 👏

With support from Parkinson's UK, the new active sessions will launch in January 2025 at Littledown Centre, Chaseside, Bournemouth, BH7 7DX.

The exercise classes have been designed to challenge many of the problem areas associated with Parkinson’s, including balance, muscle strength and coordination. BH Live Active’s instructors have been specially trained to deliver classes for anyone living with a neurological condition, such as Parkinson’s 🧡

As well as being a much-loved festive favourite, panto is the first introduction to theatre for many young people 🌟

In partnership with UK Productions Ltd, we're delighted to bring the magic of panto to our stages at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre and Fairfield Halls every year to sustain this important and magical tradition. In addition to exclusive schools and group performances, we also offer captioned and relaxed shows to make panto accessible for all 💙

Thanks to public donations to our Pavilion Outreach Fund, this year we've enabled more than 200 primary school pupils across the BCP region to enjoy panto. We've also offered free panto reading sessions at Croydon Library to encourage local children to engage with this fantastic tradition 👏

We’ve recently invested more than £100K into energy efficiencies to become more sustainable 💚

By introducing sustainable practices such as solar panels, fan destratification, swimming pool covers, EV charging stations, and much more, we are actively reducing our carbon footprint and improving sustainability across our organisation 👏

We have appointed Environmental Champions across the business too, who help monitor our energy usage and identify where action can be
taken to reduce our carbon footprint in partnership with Green Mark. Thanks to their hard work, all our leisure centres and venues are now officially Green Mark Level 2 accredited 🎉
