Family, friends and colleagues said a final goodbye to Squadron Leader Mark Long this afternoon at RAF Coningsby. His life and career were celebrated in a thoughtful and poignant service, which concluded with a ‘missing man’ flypast by pilots from 29 Squadron.

We’ve been quiet on the socials recently whilst we prepare for the upcoming display season but now is finally the time to introduce the Royal Air Force Chinook Role Demonstration for the 2024 air show season.
The team will be putting on an impressive demonstration of the aircraft capabilities and the roles it can conduct on operations world wide. Expect an action packed show which will include underslung loads, internally loaded vehicles being delivered to the ‘battlefield’ and trooping with the team demonstrating the full capability of the aircraft. The team will be supported by the Joint Helicopter Support Squadron (JHSS) who are responsible for the rigging of underslung loads, management of landing sites and passengers, they are essential to the delivery the Chinook capabilities.
Over the coming days we will introduce the team and let you know where you will be able to support us throughout the season. Thank you for all your support in previous years and we hope you enjoy the Role Demonstration for 2024!
