🌟 Say “How do you do” to your class leader! 🌟

As we are starting our new Easter term this week, we thought we would re-introduce our Toddler Sense Class leader to new and existing customers! ♥️

Everyone say hello to Gemma! 👋

Gemma has been our Toddler Sense class leader since 2023. Gemma started her sensory journey attending Baby Sensory classes with her daughter Thalia and absolutely loved every moment of it. Gemma trained as a class leader for Toddler Sense in February 2023 and then the following year, trained as a Baby Sensory class leader ♥️

Before Thalia was born, Gemma worked as a nursery manager (with 8 years experience in nursery settings) - Gemma also is level 3 qualified in childcare and has a degree in Sociology - lots of experience with lots of different families! ♥️

Gemma can’t wait to meet you all and introduce you to Tod and his many fun-filled adventures!

“How do you do?” is our signature song we sing at the start of our activities every week! We absolutely love collecting our 2 sticks from the blue bucket and our own little Tod to take on our adventure!

Toddlers thrive from routine, which helps to build their confidence in class and creates an understanding of what to expect each week ♥️

Today marks the start of Children's Mental Health Week.

Evidence suggests that toddlers are more sedentary than ever before, which puts them at risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cognitive decline in later life. Inactivity has also raised concerns about their psychological welfare, behaviour, and learning ability. Exercise builds confidence and self-esteem, and it gives toddlers a great sense of wellbeing. It's a valuable tool for brain function and good mental health in all ages.

We loved visiting the Emperor’s gardens for the Oriental Gardens theme this week!
We enjoyed an array of activities exploring our different senses :
👁️ - using our sense of sight to explore the lights in the Emperor’s garden under the skies.
👄- using our sense of taste for our tea ceremonies, which is a traditional ceremony in Chinese culture at the beginning of the lunar new year to bring luck and prosperity into 2025!
🤚🏻- using our sense of touch for our oriental gardens activity and feeling the oats and other materials to create our own gardens. A great activity for parent/child bonding and imaginative play.
👃🏻- using our sense of smell and investigate the different herbs we used in our little gardens.
👂🏻 - using our sense of hearing to listen to the beautiful music we were making in the gardens!

💙🥳 ITS OUR 1ST BIRTHDAY 🥳💙

To celebrate we will be throwing some extra special parties during February half term and we’d love you to join us!

⏰ Bookings for our birthday parties, as well as bookings for our next block of classes, will be released at 10am on Saturday 1st February so make sure you’re ready and waiting! ⏰

Our special half term parties will take place on the following days/ times:

Tuesday 18th February (Baby Sensory Parties)

12:40pm-1:40pm - 4-9 months
2:00pm-3:00pm - 0-7 months

⭐ What is the right age to start Toddler Sense? ⭐️

💛 This is a question we often get asked, particularly from our Baby Sensory graduates and the simple answer is, all toddlers are welcome! Classes range from 13 months up to the age of 5!

💛 Bookings for the Spring term open on Saturday (1st February) at 10am. We are also running half term classes too, so the perfect opportunity to try out Toddler Sense! (Available to book from Saturday at 10am too)

💛 Toddler sense is ideal for adventurous little ones. Classes are a fantastic balance of free explorative play and structured class led activities with lots of bubbles, lights and of course Tod - our amazing Toddler Sense mascot who guides us on our adventures weekly!

💛 Toddler Sense Isle of Man is on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at The Sensory Hub.
