“Are you married?”
“How many times have you been married?”
A couple of questions I’m asked often in appointments and well, the answer is Yes I am married and I’ve only been married once.

One wedding day, one husband and as of December 1st 2024 (today) it will be 40 years! Yes you read that correctly - 40 YEARS!

I can say hand on heart that I saw us getting old and grey together and ta dah - we have!

We are currently enjoying a little trip away together,in the sun, at the same place we went on our honeymoon and have been to most years since. It’s super special.

As a couple we have been through sooooooo very much together, so many changes, highs and lows, trials and tribulations that have bought us together more and more. I love him more now than ever.

I often say to my children “write a good (life) book” and we have definitely done that!

What I’ve learnt …
To be patient while you get to know them and their ways,
Respect each other
Be each others cheerleaders
You will both change in many ways and that’s okay,
Take time to yourself when you need it - coz you’ll both need that
Talk through everything - pick the right time (read the room)
Be honest and vulnerable, find the kindest and quickest ways to get that across,
You’ll get to a point were you think alike and often say the same things at the same time - snap!
You’ll be best friends and know you have their back, as they do yours.
The feeling you get is the best when they say “I love you” at the most unexpected time or you’re looking rough !
To be there for each other
Do it your way
So glad I found someone that matches my weirdness 🤪

As I pinch myself that 40 years of marriage has passed, we raise a glass to our love and recognise that the greatest achievement is our two exceptional children we are truly blessed and grateful every day. Love you both millions ❤️

I look forward to adding more chapters to our life book, if it’s anything like the last 40 years it’s going to be full of love, laughter and excitement. Bring it in!

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 10th October 🫶🏻
I’m taking a moment to highlight the connection to Bridal Appointments and anxieties.

So often I hear of the fear or anxieties that brides feel at the thought of starting their bridal boutique journey.

It could be you’ve never worn dresses,
it could be the overwhelm of where to even start,
it could be the pressure you may feel to find ‘The One’,
or you don’t fancy taking your clothes off in front of a stranger (completely get this, know that we are used to this, it will be discreet and caring)
all totally understandable and heads up, you are not alone!

The majority of brides visiting Saltaire Bridal are ‘first-timers’. 🤗

At Saltaire Bridal you’ll be heard, supported and guided.

We go at your pace.
