Many thanks to everyone who came along to Roger Davies yesterday evening. Roger was excellent as always and his band (now with additional guitarist) were great.

Our next show is Saturday 23 November when we welcome back Liz Simcock. Liz is one of the country's finest female songwriters and her songs - often autobiographical and highly personal - are immediately accessible to audiences and injected with poetry, emotion and splashes of humour.

It’s always a special night at the mill when Roger Davies plays and we are delighted that he is returning with his full band on Saturday 16th November.

Roger formed his band after he accompanied Fairport Convention on a thirty date UK tour and, since then, they have played to full houses across the region. Roger’s songs document Yorkshire life and Yorkshire characters - expect to hear old favourites such as ‘Brighouse On Saturday Night', 'The Ghost Of Lily Fogg', 'Into The Sun', 'Percy Shaw' along with a selection of new songs. This Saturday - 19 October - we welcome Sorrel Nation to the mill along with her full band. Sorrel's debut album - Lost En Route - has been getting great reviews and her soulful mix of folk rock, powerful vocals and haunting melodies has been delighting audiences on her current tour.

Supporting Sorrel will be Robbie Cavanagh described by Bob Harris as "One of my absolute favourite UK grassroots artists".

It promises to be a great night!

Sorrel brings a soulful mix of folk rock, with powerful vocals, haunting melodies and emotive lyrics. Also on the bill is Robbie Cavanagh described by Whispering Bob Harris as “One of my absolute favourite UK grassroots artists”.

We’ve got some great music coming up at the mill in October starting on Saturday 05th when we welcome back the Jon Palmer Acoustic Band. Described as the “best upbeat folk band around”, Jon and the band always deliver a great night’s entertainment.

Next, on Saturday 12th October we have the 70’s West Coast inspired folk/rock of Fred's House - gorgeous harmonies, moving lyrics, infectious melodies and uplifting grooves.

Finally for October, on Saturday 19th October we have Kent born songstress Sorrel Nation and her full band who bring a soulful mix of folk rock, with powerful vocals and haunting melodies. Support for this show comes from Robbie Cavanagh. Robbie has been described by Bob Harris as “One of my absolute favourite UK grassroots artists”.

The fabulous Jon Palmer Acoustic Band return to the mill on Saturday 05 October 2024. The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band is a high energy folk, roots and rock-n-roll combo (based in-and-around the musically vibrant West Yorkshire market town of Otley) and best described as “a cross between The Pogues and The Oyster Band, with a bit of The Waterboys, The Saw Doctors and the Bruce Springsteen Seeger Sessions Band thrown in”.

If you have seen the Jon Palmer Acoustic Band before you will know how good they are. If not, come along on the 05 October – you will be in for a treat.

Many thanks to everyone who came along to see Peet Jackson Music last night. It was a really enjoyable evening and Peet was excellent.
