CADS Pantomime - message from Richard

Hello everyone!

After an amazing session last week, I am looking forward to seeing more of you tomorrow for our second Chorus Call & Casting Workshop! As a reminder, anyone who came last week should come again tomorrow as we'll be doing a different song and working through new parts of the script!

Sunday 10th November @ Cullingworth Village Hall

13:00 - 14:45: Chorus Call

15:00 - 16:00: Scriptwork Workshop

So what is a Chorus Call? Well, it's a chance for new Junior or Senior members to get a taste of what it's like being part of the CADS Chorus. We'll start off with a "warm up" game, getting our bodies and voices ready to learn a new song fit for a Panto! We will go through a song we'll be performing in the pantomime, and tomorrow's song is "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers. You'll learn how to sing each line by itself, before singing and maybe dancing to a backing track! (Although in the Panto, it should be performed by a band!).

And what is a Scriptwork Workshop? It's a session for you to get a sneak peek of the script, become familiar with the different characters and for the production team to see who is good for each role! Your opinion matters, so let us know your favourite characters and we can note it down ready for casting. Tomorrow we'll also be getting some of you to read scripts in front of the group, as if you were on stage.

Panto Show Dates are 20th - 22nd February 2025 with Dress Rehearsals on 16th & 19th February.

Panto 2025 all starts here... See you soon!

Deborah and James, September 2024

We hired the hall for our dad's 90th birthday celebration. We were absolutely delighted with the venue and so were the 40 members of his family. It’s a brilliant room, we had loads of space and the kitchen, facilities, the equipment and parking are excellent. It was all so easy. Sandie who we dealt with and who met us and showed us round couldn’t be more helpful and gave us all the information we needed. We were so thrilled we booked it and all the family were talking about using it for future do’s. My dad was totally overwhelmed, CVH made it a day to remember. I would definitely recommend!

I’ve spoken to my dad today and he said it was one of the highlights of his life.

THIS IS NOT OK

Yesterday, Friday, between 4:30 - 5pm young children accompanied by their mum ripped flowers out of our Village Hall gardens and kicked plants. When challenged by someone who saw what was happening, the mum didn't care.

This is our Village Hall. It was not funded or built by the Council. It is not managed and maintained by the Council. It is all done by unpaid volunteers, people who live in Cullingworth. We give our time willingly so everyone can enjoy this amazing community facility.

Most people treat our hall and grounds with respect. But some people don't. This is really upsetting for all of our volunteers.

Please, if you see someone disrespecting the village hall and gardens, ask them to stop. It is not OK!
