I will only be able to create a couple more bouquets or jar arrangements for sale for collection this weekend!
And I sadly won’t have any fresh flowers for a couple of weeks at least, go grab some beautiful fresh flowers whilst you can!

I will need to turn my focus on Spring Wreaths, Workshop dates, Mother’s Day preparations and of course the home improvements and spring tidy up of the garden.

It might not be the last Friday of February this week, I got my dates a little mixed up (the joys of post Valentine’s meets Half Term school holidays!) And I have now ordered the Ivy & Eve Flower Club selection of flowers with Violet Anemones, Carnations and Limonium with Yellow Roses and Mimosa! I cannot wait!

Please do support my business, I may not get in fresh flowers for a couple of weeks! If you would like a bouquet delivered this Friday it is free to Baildoners on orders over £30.00, which is a nice medium sized hand-tied gift-wrapped bouquet.
I’m also taking orders for collection Thursday teatime until sell out! Prices from £13 large jar arrangements, £20 paper wrapped smaller, but not tiny, bouquets and of course anything and everything above that for those special occasions.

SPRING WREATHS
Mid to Late March I will begin creating those who have already ordered their Spring Wreaths, they will be made upon their mossed Winter Wreath bases that have already been returned.

There will be a slight increase but still similar to last year, £35-55, depending on the wreath base size. Plus if you have returned your wreath you get a £5 discount off the price.

Was a pleasure to see returning customers and some new faces too!

Please remember to keep changing their vase water and recutting their stems to give them their best life. Flowers do best when their space is cool, and kept away from direct sun and radiator heat.

• PINKS AND PURPLES •
This week I created a really special sympathy arrangement for my friend Michelle and her sister Alison who lost their much loved mum.

After a lovely chat at Michelle’s, who I’ve known since our children went to primary school, we discussed which flowers and the colours we wanted to feature.

Mavis loved flowers and particularly these pastel shades of pinks and lavender purple. In fact in all the photos I saw these were the colours she wore and I built up a vision of her personality and what I would create for her.

She loved these flowers featured and avoided the ones she wasn’t keen on. I’m sure she would have absolutely loved her flowers, each one is a tied sheaf bouquet, and I love my creation as this is foam free and no plastics.

The family can take home the flowers, enjoy them for the next couple of weeks in vases, as these are so fresh and still have so much more to give x

Facebook seemed to have changed the way my posts show up on your individual news feeds, and I have noticed my posts aren't reaching anywhere near as many people as it used to, which can make it harder to interact and gain interest (as Facebook is one of the main ways I run my little business)

I am focusing more on offering foam free alternative arrangements, where the fresh seasonal flowers can continue to be enjoyed after the service. My own design of no foam casket arrangement is growing in popularity over these past three years I have offered them.

Tied Sheaf arrangements as multiple or singular arrangement on the casket, really popular as a way to avoid using unnecessary plastics, the ease of transporting afterwards and that additional joy of a vase full of fresh flowers.

Traditional double ended casket spray in oasis bio foam in 3ft, 4ft and 5ft lengths have a wonderful shape and are perfect as an impactful arrangement. I use a fresh and seasonal mixture of flowers to create shape, texture and balance, and there are a few ideas of how to continue to make the most of the flowers.

I love creating the delicate mixture of Heart Wreaths and traditional Wreaths, available in a range of sizes and options regarding use of oasis foam or eco-friendly alternatives.

I feel really passionate that your flowers need to show off their natural beauty and fulfil their fullest life. Ivy & Eve are focused on reducing the environmental impact of using plastics and in recent years I made the decision to no longer offer foam shaped tributes, including based white chrysanthemum letters. I feel these extremely short stems cannot be given any re-purpose or enjoyed afterwards and the environmental impact doesn’t align with my company ethos.

Yesterday I received a gorgeous delivery of pinks and white blooms, direct from my fav specialist growers Funza, Lugt and Zentoo.
I conditioned them with quick dip, a hydration treatment to give a boost when I feel I need a quicker turnaround time. With storm Eowyn coming, I made the decision to deliver bouquets on Thursday afternoon. These are all sold out!

Don’t worry, I’ll have another delivery arriving Saturday with premium red flowers, in readiness for creating a special sympathy arrangement early next week. As there are no fresh deliveries on a Sunday or Monday. So, I will have excess flowers available and I’ll be doing some £15 and £20 specials available to collect on Sunday and Monday. Let me know if you fancy a treat! 🌹❤️

About Us

Let me explain… Ivy & Eve is the joining of my first loves – all things flowers and my first born daughter Evie. Together I feel this name represents a couple of the things that bring me joy!

My journey began long before I qualified as a florist in 2016, as I always had a love for flowers and a serious case of Green Fingers! I have more than 10 years of experience in the floristry and horticulture industry.

We run the business from Baildon, a West Yorkshire village surrounded by striking countryside, and beautiful wedding locations that my brides choose to celebrate their big days. Nearby are the ideal wedding venues Hollins Hall Hotel, The Chevin Hotel & Spa and The Old Barn Esholt.

I pride myself on offering a truly bespoke service to my clients, whether they want me to work with their personal preferences or for me to guide them with my carefully selected choices. All designed after chatting together, over a coffee, about how you would like your beautiful blooms to look.
