As the year draws to a close, I have been reflecting on the year I have had.
Firstly, it’s a huge thank you to couples whose wedding florals I have brought to life, and those who have booked me in the future. Without you, there is no Bureau Botany so I am eternally grateful & honoured by your support.

It’s also a thank you to the venues and suppliers who continue to support me and work with me, as well as my fantastic team of freelancers (and those who I have freelanced for too!)

Here’s a brief roundup of the year for Bureau Botany-
- I was a part of my first shoot for years, and it was my concept in collaboration with and a talented team of suppliers which I’ll list below. I still absolutely love these photos & this was a transformative point for me this year, it got me really thinking about my business, the direction I want to go in, creating work that ignites me creatively. That was one of the New Year’s resolutions I set at the end of 2023 & this felt like the first stepping stone to doing this, which in turn made 2024 a year of feeling inspired and focused.

- I moved workshops to a bigger unit in Bingley from my bijou one in Guiseley. This one has been a rollercoaster of highs & lows, a HUGE learning curve renting an entire commercial building with a lot of curve balls. It’s been a lot, and is still a work in progress. But I am proud of the achievement, I don’t think 2018 Bethan who just had the idea to set up her own business would believe I’d have that space now!

- I have been lucky enough to be asked to create some of my favourite work to date, in some beautiful venues, that still makes me feel so proud when I look back at the photos

- I have also taken bookings for some really exciting briefs in 2025/2026 which I’m looking forward to creating & sharing with you guys!

- This can sound like a bit of a highlights reel and candidly, there’s also been a lot of harder parts too- stress, doubts, worrying, and the endless juggle of family life. So it has also been a year of perseverance, strength & problem solving, faith in my business and the belief that the difficult patches don’t last forever.

Thank you for following along ❤️

I’ve gone a little unintentionally AWOL on here recently.. life got in the way as it does. Preparing for Christmas with two little ones, freelancing for lots of my amazing floral friends, as well as preparing proposals for 2025 and 2026 weddings.

A break in the Christmas content to bring these professional photographs from M & M’s wedding at which was definitely very Autumnal overflowing with pumpkins, autumnal foliage and candlelight

A & H’s vision for their wedding breakfast was inspired by a surrealist tea party, with an opulent take on primary colours and a touch of a still life Dutch masters painting to boot. It was a real pleasure bringing to life such a concise and interesting vision, and we combined taper candles, fruits and satin bows to the arrangements to create texture- the couple even embroidered velvet bows for place settings

Finally getting round to sharing some of the photos I’ve received back from my couples from this year. It’s so lovely to look back and remember some of the floral moments we created this year. This one was particularly special
For A & J’s intimate ceremony at I designed a ceremony installation made up with a lot of foraged foliage and plants that the couple kept and took home after the event, then we used the most beautiful roses that filled the room with the most gorgeous scent. I loved how this turned out!

A detailed table scape softened with the most gorgeous draping. The little considered details are so important when designing an elevated wedding look, which is why the details each member of this dream team of suppliers brought to this set up was so important towards creating the end look.

It would be a crime to be entering autumn without sharing something from this wedding last October. (Probably one of my most admired weddings that has brought inspiration to lots of my brides to be!) Perhaps I’ll share more of their stunning ceremony set up in due course, but for now I had to share these adorable photos of the newly weds with their adorable dog. I am such a huge fan of dogs at weddings and in fact my dog came down the aisle with me! What are your thoughts on pets at weddings?

I’ve had a little flurry of followers recently so I thought I would reintroduce myself and tell you a bit about me, but first I would love to get to know all my new followers - tell me a little about yourself or your business ❤️
Now for me -
I’m Bethan the owner and founder of Bureau Botany, before running my floral business I studied graphic design at uni, then I worked for Harvey Nichols on the visual display team installing their gorgeous windows and designing in-store displays, so it was a natural progression for me to move in to designing and creating big floral installations and it’s definitely the big installations that really make my heart sing!
I’m most at home creating in my signature organic and untamed style, I love a colour scheme that I can get my teeth in to and really gets me thinking, and I adore the different floral beauty that each season brings.
When I’m not creating floral designs you can find me at home with my husband, two children and dog.

A few close ups of Amelia’s bouquet (and her maids too) as I delivered it 🤍 I love a colour scheme that I can really get my teeth in to and this wedding provided me with not one but two. Soft and delicate creams and whites with pops of blue for the ceremony, then opulent and rich primary colours for the wedding breakfast. This was part of the former - what do you think?

Gorgeous details from A & H’s ceremony set up in the Fernery at
In a colour palette of whites and greens with soft pops of pale blue, we transformed the space transporting guests in to an alternate reality for their ceremony where the Fernery was a romantic and enchanted abandoned building with nature growing in and taking over in the most magical way.

Some close ups of B & N’s beautiful table centrepieces from their wedding at in May
They wanted the table centrepieces to look organic and natural, and echo the flowers of beautiful walled garden of the Fig House where they married. They were used for the ceremony backdrop then repurposed on to tables
I absolutely love this style of centrepiece and think they are the perfect alternative to a bud vase. What do you think?

Excited to be back in the studio preparing for this week’s gorgeous wedding at
I’m particularly excited to share the process behind this week’s floral installation as it is going to be a living structure designed partially with plants. The couple wanted to keep the plants afterwards to reduce waste. Watch this space!

One of my favourite parts of creating your wedding flowers has to be designing and making your bouquet; it is the first of your floral designs you will see on the day, and sets the tone for the rest of the florals. It is so incredibly personal and important, and each time I take a huge amount of pride in being trusted with crafting it for you.
When I am designing your bouquet I will take in to account your dress, your style and personality, your colour scheme, the size, shape, texture, as well as a bit of the unique Bureau Botany style, to ensure I bring life to the perfect companion for you on your wedding day (second to your other half, of course 😉)

Maximalist tablescape details.
Creating an elevated look for your tables really is all in the details. Four tips to elevate your tables-
1. Consider using tablecloths to soften the appearance of the tables. These don’t have to be white, a colour picked out from your colour scheme can look equally as elegant
2. Incorporate stationary that matches your vibe
3. Using candles and fruit along with your flowers can create a considered, detail-oriented look
4. If your budget allows, hiring in glassware, cutlery, plates and napkins makes for a much more interesting and unexpected tablescape for your guests

This week I had the absolute honour of working alongside an amazing and talented team of creatives bringing to life my vision. Every detail complimented my flowers so perfectly!

Each of my floral designs are carefully curated works of art, and it is such a pleasure to see something you have planned and designed so meticulously come to fruition.

The designs you see here are created using sustainable mechanics, no floral foam, and are made up of flowers and foliage sourced from both local British growers (which I try to do as much as I can with every brief I do) as well as imported flowers. A huge amount of planning goes in to carefully selecting the specific types of flowers and foliage that will create the design; taking in to account texture, colour, shape and scent.

When working with an organic product, I do find I never quite know what the finished composition will look like until I get making and much like creating a painting or a sculpture, once I see the flowers I will know the curve of that stem needs to be in that place, and the shape or colour of that flower means it must go here.

I just had a look through Georgie and Mark’s beautiful wedding album; really captured the emotions and story of the day perfectly, and Georgie and Mark’s fun personalities!

Georgie and Mark chose a palette of rich autumnal colours, and we designed a showstopping mantelpiece installation which created a wow moment for their guests and the perfect backdrop to their ceremony.

The installation was packed with boughs of British grown foliage, as well as all the premium roses, dahlias, snow berries and Chinese lantern flowers.

When designing your wedding flowers I love nothing more than incorporating different ingredients available depending on the season, and adore the variety of beautiful flowers are available to me as the seasons change.
