FORMER BRECON WEEKEND#3
Thank You to everyone who turned up and ran, walk, crawled over the 3 weekends.
This weekend seen some testing conditions - you are all Legends.
Lovely to see some new faces who just want to get out in the hills and do something different with their dogs.
Will post some pics and a write up of the weekend later this evening.
For now we have a lot of admin to do.

Apologies for being a bit late but hectic day yesterday after the event and then heading up North with work last night.
What can I say a great weekend made even better by some awesome people and their dogs. Dogs of all shapes & sizes and people who just want to do something different.
On a personal level when we had to move Brecon we had some negative feedback with some off people who had not even entered, nor had any intention of turning up. Hey we are not perfect but I do hope that this weekend has shown that we are honouring the Brecon event from 2020 with three alternatives, sticking to our word. Enough said about that and it is getting put to bed from me once and for all!!!
We also always knew that this weekend would not be a big one in terms of people worried about the weather but hey its South Wales & Mynydd Y Gaer from personal experience anything can happen.
Friday we had High Winds not forecast and a cool afternoon of near perfect conditions for the first route. Saturday morning was overcast and again the last person came in just as the temperatures went high. Sunday was a slightly warmer (after rain and thunder storms overnight) but again near perfect conditions.
All entrants mixed and got on like a house on Fire, with some meeting for the first time. We had a couple travel from Guernsey,
a Kiwi travel from Belgium with the rest from far flung corners of the UK. Everyone was respectful of the site, any local livestock and surrounding area - It is a big risk the landowners letting me hold this event in the area so I cannot thank you all enough.
A big Thank You to everyone who marshalled without you this could not go ahead along with a special mention to Andrew Paterson who made the medals, the dog tags and the final days plaque - he is an unsung hero for us and not forgetting my wife for putting up with my tantrums!!! 😁
So the future - I am getting the September & October event out of the way, again honouring what we have always

The UK Only Long Distance event solely for K9s and their human Passengers.
After a scaled down event in October due to the Pandemic which seen 40 on the 19.5 mile and the same on the 10 mile route we like everyone else are hoping the crazy world will be back to some normality by 15th October.
With a relaxed start and a fully marked route (you wont get lost) and no time limit you can run / trek this amazing route.

The MiniCani-Trail i a 10.6km tough Mountain Trail route in Heol y Cyw South Wales.
It has a fully marked route, so there i no need for any navigation. January can throw up all sorts of weather in the area as it has its own mircro climate. (video taken in January) - but hey its Wales.
Run, Trek or Crawl the event ha no time limit and everyone who finishes receives a medal.
