This is no shade really it’s not just making light. I know Iv said this before but when I quote people for jobs I’ll tell you now that I will not be the cheapest!! However with that come experience and my unique style.
A few things that go into each quote are as follows
My years of experience
My time
Branded balloons
Props
Florals (of the best quality!)
My unit
Electric
Business insurance
Van insurance
My unit cost
My website costs
Paying helpers if it’s a big job
And more I’m sure.
All of these things can’t be covered by £50 for something worth £200
Now I’m all for doing it yourself…. I’m one of those people! 🤣 hense why I started in the first place lol but I do need to point out that’s there is a difference between the professional and DIY. That is also fine but don’t say it’s not worth the money because some people find value in not having to stress doing it yourself and some would rather save. I’m here for both of you you go!! 💪🏿

That’s the cost of working for yourself doing something you love! After you’ve taken off the following from your cost
The cost of the balloons
Chatting and admin of your booking process ie making invoices making collages, mock ups and more
Ordering
Install and take down
Going to and from the unit and loading the van
Delivery and collection
Even making props
It all adds up to hours and hours and that not even including running costs.
By the end of it, it’s less than minimum wage really, that’s why a lot of us experience burnout, fatigue frustration and anxiety. It’s a lot for us to deal with, mostly alone.
This is why I TRY to stick within my 9-6 hours in the week as obviously weekends are a free for all with the chaos of setups and takedowns.
I LOVE MY JOB so much and when it’s done well I.w minimum time scales are achieved it’s a great industry to be in but when the timescales are at the maximum it has me questioning whether I want to do something else!! 😅😂 then I remember!!!! I never want to be questioned again by my manager why im not wearing the right jeans or why my shop floors not tidied lol.
Moral of the story…. Be kind to your local balloon artists they’ve probably not even drank any water today 😂 don’t send them a ?? At 11:78pm and to my balloon babes be kind to yourselves…. Drink water and keep going you got this babe!

It’s more than just balloons…. I get that so often “I can’t justify spending that much on just balloons” “that much just for balloons?!” “I can’t spend that much Iv already spent on the cake!”
Well luckily for my clients that appreciate it see that it’s so much more than just blowing a few balloons up, it’s chatting with you, designing your 1 of a kind display, ordering stock, HAND MAKING special props, driving to the venue or your house and back numerous times, it’s collecting your props from the unit, taking time to put them back and much MORE.
