Divine colours and textures for this weekends wedding. I have such a love hate relationship with cosmos but I absolutely love it here. The movement and romance it gives to bouquets is second to none. Apricotta has taken an age for me this season. It just hasnโ€™t looked good enough to use in bouquets, but it finally came through for me for this bridal bouquet.

Oh the glamour of floral mechanics. Thank goodness for chicken wire. The beauty of not using floral foam is that this cloud base can be used again and again. I am so looking forward to making another flower cloud.

Tulip update. This is the first year I have tried tulips in crates. These were only put in January, I think Vivienne was about a month old. I would never usually plant them so late but being pregnant and house renovations got in the way of field planting in October. I am surprised at how well they are growing. They are shorter than my field grown ones and their blooms seem to be smaller, but when adding to arrangements the slightly smaller blooms are actually easier to work with. I will certainly be growing in crates again. I got to pick a large scale narcissus and tulip growers brain last week on forcing tulips and narcissus. Hopefully next year I can force some ready for Valentines or Motherโ€™s Day๐Ÿคž

Vivienne and I have been very busy seed starting. The green house is bursting with gorgeous flower babies. Lots of tried and tested varieties and quite a few new ones too. Now we just need a little less rain so we can get some equipment into the field.

The last of this years wreaths are going out this week. I love this one! Lots of people have been requesting red and green this year, but I love the icy blue textures in this beauty.

Autumn wreath season is still going strong. I have to admit I am now looking at all the Holly bushes on the farm. Not long before they get their annual trim for Christmas wreaths and swags.

A riot of colour. These were some of the last blooms of the season. The frost has now ended out flower season which is a bitter sweet moment in the flower farming year. It is now time to finish clearing beds and continue planting and sowing for next years blooms. It has been a busy year and although picking beautiful blooms from the field is over for now, things donโ€™t slow down yet. Bulb planing will start, as well as planting annuals, biennials and some perennials that were sown in the summer. Autumn wreaths and dried flower bouquet orders are being made and then there is also a huge amount of Christmas prep.

Autumn wreaths are coming! These are made to order. Please get in touch if you would like one. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚โค๏ธ

I treated myself to this book last month. Tonight, while I sit in the car waiting for my little boy to finish Beavers I finally have time to read and drool over all the beautiful plants on this book. I have started to focus on extending my perennial stock on the farm. This year I have tried to grow a large number of varieties from seed. However, I now have a LONG list of plants that I want to add.
