I was asked this at the wkend about @cruxclubuk by someone close to me. 🙃Sure it was well intended and meant kindly, but regardless of whether I make money or not at each event my answer is always the same. I AM NOT DOING THIS FOR THE MONEY. (I meaan who goes into small scale events in London at the start to make money anyway? 😩 These things take TIME)
So why the hell am I doing this? 🤨
💥I am doing this because I find it exciting to bring high quality creatives and solopreneurs together. I want to meet them myself and find out their story. 📓
💥I am doing this because I care that there’s a loneliness epidemic in this country and human beings need to connect more IRL - neuroscience proves it. 🧠
💥I am doing this because I care about the UK music industry - A contributor of £6.7 billion to the UK economy in gross value added (This Is Music report 2023) and whether it is being stewarded properly under policymakers.
💥 I care about UK arts, film and our rapidly growing creative industries & the wealth of talent within.
And Even though I am a micro-player in a giant, sprawling system - to contribute by helping others advance or thrive even in the *smallest*’of ways brings satisfaction and joy 😄
💥 I am by no means an ‘industry expert’ but I’ve worked on the periphery of these industries as a communications expert for years now and I know enough to be a facilitator of sorts.
